At any rate, I know the brits ended slaveery before America, but I'd be willing to bet they started before us too (I have not yet looked this up. OK. Then how do you explain white-on-white gun violence. Virtually all of the mass shooting incidents are white boys shooting other white people? 🤔

I don’t think it matters very much who she picks as a running mate, but it will absolutely have to be a cis-gender-heterosexual-white man — any other choice would be an utter disaster for the ticket.

I did not check @ProfD but I'm certain British slavery predates America's and probably lasted longer. It is hard for me to believe that you believe that there is less gun violence in the UK because they are less racist. Have you been to the UK or any former British colony -- the Brits were the most brutal, racist people the Planet has ever seen -- they invented racism; Americans were just following the leader. Sure, the Brits got their act together on slavery and guns laws before America, but the legacy of their raced based barbarism is evident around the world to this day.

Well @aka Contrarian Biden, as you surely know, has stepped aside. Kamala has my vote, but between her and Biden it is a toss-up. Kamala's tough on crime stance as a San Fran DA and CA Attorney General equates to locking up a lot of Black men with little sympathy. She seems weak on foreign policy. And you know she'll be a tough pill for white men to swallow -- they wouldn't even support Hillary. I'm definitely not voting for her because she is a "Black." She has my vote simply because she is not Trump.

But the fact that a 20 year-old kid can get a AK-47 makes no sense. The gun has no other purpose than to kill humans. You have to agree that our lax gun laws directly leads to more guns in the hands of the public, more shootings, and more needless death. I heard on the news today that the state where the Republican convention is being held is an open carry state you can walk the streets with an AK slung across your shoulder — legally. How many armed people do you think they are gonna allow into the convention? They all hypocrites.

That will be difficult to do because there really isn't a satisfactory answer. @aka Contrarian do you watch the House of Dragons? If so, you recall Daemon Targaryen in an effort to bolster his army had to speak with the boy Lucerys Velaryon because the father to too sick to meet. Daemon suggested that he kill his father to speed up his inheritance. The boy refused saying "It is not our way." Dameon replied then "you are of no use to me." It is just not the Democrats way and as a result they are of no use to us. Biden obviously will not step down on his own and no one will push him aside. In an ideal word that would be true. I'm not saying that is not necessary, but it is not sufficient. Discoverability is a factor and whoever controls that has the key. You need both.

We could do better, much better @ProfD. I doubt however much can be done to rectify the current system. The Supreme court is stacked and can be made even worse with another Trump presidency. The checks and balances you discuss as our saving grace are in jeopardy. 😞

The public absolutely has a right to know. my issue is what and how they are telling us. The stuff we need to know is apparently boring and insufficiently interesting to attract any attention to warrant reporting in the main stream. The stuff that is not helpful is titillating and emotion invoking — the stuff that attracts eyeballs, Is what the media covers and leaves us very divided. I don’t think America will collapse in the near future either, but it has been decline ever since inception (I’m open to hearing what people think America’s Highpoint was or if we’ve yet to reach it) My point is ours will not be 1,000 year civilization. In the long term we will probably need some type of global government. Our inability reverse man’s adverse impact on the planet is a function of global divisiveness. Petty wars rage and it makes no sense for handful of people to control trillions of dollars in wealth while huge swaths of our planet’s population lives in poverty. Something will have to give.

I came across this article via ChatGPT doing some research on search engine optimization. The citation read like something I would’ve written. I followed the link and it brought me back to the site— a post I had long forgotten. It is hard to imagine that i’m now involved and yet another website upgrade. The only difference today is that AI poses an existential threat to many websites my own. I haven’t figured out a long-term strategy yet.

The so-called debate was hyped like a Muhammad Ali, Joe Fraser battle. Trump said things like they aborting babies at nine months and even after birth went completely uncontested. The public can’t help but have a completely distorted perspective. I’ve opted out of social media to avoid the influences, but then you miss out on an important information. Striking a balance while consuming News online or on TV is virtually impossible as it’s all designed to trigger emotions rather than to inform and enlighten. All powerful cultures eventually collapse. It is just happening much more quickly for America. I guess that’s just another effect of technology. — speeding up cultural decline.
