richardmurray
nice entries @Pioneer1 thanks for advertising:) @Dee Miller that is your song, woman to man, but what about man to woman and what about duet?
Dee Miller
@richardmurray ANY smooth jazz involving a saxophone is my duet as both sides can serenade. My man to woman love song is all things Jodeci. That said, I tend to get Love Drunk on most love songs, ballets & jazz melodies. I can tell you one thing for sure though, this topic has me smiling! Mel Hopkins
Ok I'll play! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl3tIXeZRo8 Lyrics I never knew such a day could come And I never knew such a love could be inside of one I never knew what my life was for But now that you're here, I know for sure I never knew 'til I looked in your eyes (oh, baby) I was incomplete 'til the day you walked into my life, ooh And I never knew that my heart could feel So precious and pure, our love is so real Can I just see you every morning when I open my eyes Can I just feel your heart beating beside me every night Can we just feel this way together 'til the end of all time Can I just spend my life with you Now baby the days and the weeks and the years will roll by But nothing will change the love inside of you and I And baby I'll never find any words that could explain Just how much my heart, my life, my soul, you've changed Can you run to these open arms When no one else understands Can we tell God and the whole world I'm your woman, and you're my man Can't you just feel how much I love you With one touch of my hand Can I just spend my life with you No touch has ever felt so wonderful (you are incredible) And no deeper love I've never known (I'll never let you go) I swear this love is true (now and forever to you) Only for you (to you) Can I just see you every morning when I open my eyes Can I just feel your heart beating beside me every night Can we just feel this way together 'til the end of all time Can I just spend my life with you Can you run to these open arms When no one else understands Can we tell God and the whole world You're my woman, and you're my man Can't you just feel how much I love you With one touch of my hand Can I just spend my life with you Can I just spend my life with you Forever here with you Can I just spend my life with you Can I just see you every morning when I open my eyes Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Scott Joplin / Desmontes Posey / Benet Eric Spend My Life With You lyrics © Warner-tamerlane Publishing Corp., Paradise Forever Music, India B. richardmurray
@Mel Hopkins I would not had bet an eric benet would have been presented. I shared this to an offline friend, they went into a negative rant on him:) Nice duet:) lovely sharing the lyrics:) beautiful, have you ever written lyrics? what about man to woman? or woman to man? @Cynique that is a rare sighting, a wilson pickett share Nice man to woman , woman to man:) , and duet which is the most underrated Franklin or Terrell+Gaye song or interpretation? For gaye + Terrell their interpretation collection is deemed a standard so this is a potentially hard question but I wonder your thoughts? For franklin who has a large number of songs, i expect you have one that is not well known you adore alot?
Mel Hopkins
3 hours ago, richardmurray said: I shared this to an offline friend, they went into a negative rant on him: Interesting. So, your friend has a personal relationship with Eric Benet? I intentionally left blank the man to-woman and woman-to-man “love” song categories. Some are great sing/alongs but none rise to the level of favorite. Eric Benet and Tamia’s “spend my life” feels like the songwriters lived those words. Pioneer1
The diversity and range of artists is interesting. Infact, I find it delightfully interesting for some reason. Kind of like wanting to get into the minds of some of you to find out why you choose the particular songs you did and what that background was behind the reasons you liked them. I'm convinced that if we were doing "something" that brought us intense joy, love, happiness at the time a particular song was playing....it would seal that song in our minds as a favorite even if otherwise hearing it would wouldn't have cared too much for it. richardmurray
@Mel Hopkins She has a personal relationship with his music and performance on stage:) ahh I see, cool about the man to woman or woman to man @Pioneer1 doing something:) we are all adults here. and your correct, simultaneous joys do that.

Pioneer1
Oh now see...... I thought Richard was being a bit HYPERBOLIC by saying "favorite" love songs; but Mel wanna get all technical....lol. To make it clear, those songs aren't exactly my "favorites" in the sense of there being no songs better than them. They're just a FEW of my favorites. I could list about 30 or 40 songs in each category that I enjoy just as much.
Cynique
Nor were the songs I submitted my all-time favorites associated with personal experiences. They were just eclectic samples chosen for their lyrics and unique stylings; the rawness of Wilson Pickett, the ecstasy of Aretha Franklin, and the harmony of Marvin and Tammye. Love in its different ways of expression. i could've just as easily submitted "Adore" by Prince, "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston, and "Come To Me" by James Ingram and Patti Austin. (Back in the Day, any love song that my husband and i danced to would apply to all 3 of the categories.)
