ProfD
Jodeci is my favorite R&B group from the 1990s. K-Ci and JoJo on the leads and the groups vocal arrangements were on fire. DeVante Swing crushed it on the music production too. Jodeci was a complete package. Of course, copycats followed.
Pioneer1
Yeah, Dru Hill tried to copy them in terms of style. I love Dru Hill although they bit hard off of Jodeci, but they did such a good job I had to love them anyway....lol. ProfD You said Jodeci was your favorite of the 90s. I'm curious, who was your favorite of the 80s and dare I ask.....2000s (if any....lol)?????

El is one helluva musician/singer/songwriter. Mint Condition has been my favorite from the late 1990s and beyond.
Chevdove
I was too busy being a Mom in the 90s. But when I think of earlier decades, Phillip Baily comes to mind for me.

Pioneer1
I know a lot of people who LOVE Mint Condition. I just couldn't get down with them like that. Maybe because they were more about just straight singing and less about "Hiphop" like Jodeci. Guy, Troop, Jodeci, Dru Hill, and Jagged Edge were my groups...lol. Understood. Mint Condition is the last Black band i.e. folks playing real instruments and singing. Of course, as a musician, I give them major props. I don't know exactly why but every time I read this statement I laugh.....lol. I guess I picture you hurriedly slapping sandwiches together and driving kids back and forth to school and washing clothes for about a decade.....too tired to do anything else, lol. Do you mean to tell me you were too busy parenting to even listen to the music back then????

As crazy it may sound, but it's pretty much the truth. @Pioneer1 It seems like I skipped that whole decade and picked back up in the 2000s. You know, I can definitely identify some good tunes though, and some groups, in the 90s, but that time of my life was absolutely vague when it came to a lot of things I used to do before I became a new mother. I just watched an old flick, Girl Trip, and was reminded of groups like New Edition and P Diddy, so I guess that was the 90s. I remember Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll, Must Be the Music, Groove Line, One Nation Under a Groove, And the Beat Goes on, I Wanna Rock With You, Control, ... Whiteney Houston, Anita Baker, Tina Turner, Jeffrey Osborne, Billy Ocean, ... I can go on and on. I guess Ice Cube was in the 90s. But again, for me, it seems like the late 80s may have blended with the early 90s and then, next thing ya know, it was the new millennium.
Chevdove
Yeah, I just realized too, that some of the songs I loved in the 80s were actually released in the late 70s.
Pioneer1
Chev Yeah, I was about to say that....lol.
