Why do White Christians Vote Republican, and Black Christians Vote Democrat?

Of course the reason is the system of white racism.  However, this video does offer a sensible overview of the differences.  A Christian entity produced the video, but I think anyone can learn from it -- even @nels

One groups wants to go Backwards while the other wants to go forward.

I have an idea of what backward looks like. History infoms us.

However, I haven't seen or heard the plan for what forward means or how it should look for Black folks.

I'm not interested in understanding it better by and by or when we all get to heaven and see the sky fairy and his son.🤣😎

Here are two places to begin PanAfricanism and AfroFuturism.

The Future is Now and the Sky Fairy is his Sun....Whilst Heaven reside within You.

@ProfDYou prefer to ignore or dismiss the "forward" progress that  Blacks  have  made because you are stuck in the mire of reparations.

If you believe that "heaven resides within you", then why are you so luke warm about the rewards of individualism?

You have created your own "pie-in-" the-sky-fairy-tale".

I don't ignore or dismiss our progress. I refuse to rest on it or accept status quo. We deserve more.

Brotha @frankster made that statement.

Malcolm X and MLK jr. would have lived longer if they had traded the cross of Black struggle and picked up the spirit of individualism.

If Black folks don't continue to stand for or work towards something, we'll certainly be stuck with less or little or nothing.

It's perfectly fine for the baby boomer generation to feel that Black folks have arrived. They've benefited from struggle and blown through the inheritance and don't have much time left on the planet.

The younger generation of Black folks are being forced to start from scratch because they have no inheritance of Black wealth.

The system of racism white supremacy is going to choke the future of Black folks if we don't secure it. Reparations would give them a life line.😎

@ProfDSometimes, these threads get so entangled with quotes and responses  that I can't tell who is saying what because I'm age impaired. And It's  also rather difficult for me to  navigate through this forum using my phone. I miss my computer and its keyboard. I need to get a lap top I guess.

Anyway, I don't agree that the Baby Boomer and GenXers had it that easy. My kids didn’t. It's the  Millennials, and GenZers who are indulged by their parents and who don't really care about tradition. Nor are they preoccupied with institutionalized racism because they are pacified by instant gratification.

The world is changing and so are the priorities of its youth. The only thing they seem to be struggling with are their gender issues.  The majority of black ones are clueless when it comes to reparations. If Trump gets in, young folks may not even be that dislodged.

@aka Contrarian, totally understood regarding challenges of technology.

A laptop would be easier to navigate than a smartphone. You're doing fine though.

Reminds me....there's a program here where the state is giving brand new laptops to folks. I believe the catch is having a library card. Thought it was cool when I heard about it.

I'm not suggesting baby boomers and Gen-Xers had it easier post civil rights. I think our generations rested a bit believing the struggle was a done deal.

You're  right...the younger generations are not preoccupied with institutionalized racism or white supremacy. They are being indulged, shielded and protected by their parents and others.

Gen-Xers are probably doing the equivalent of yelling at the air and shaking fists at things that don't appear to exist as it relates to the system of racism white supremacy.

Thankfully, modern technology records our words, deeds and actions. History is bound to repeat itself.

If/when sh8t does hit the fan and racism white supremacy pulls a move in the future, those younger folks can pull it up and see what the Gen-Xers were yelling and fist shaking about back in the 20XXs.😎

I usually use a laptop....or desk top....when I'm on a message board or doing extensive typing.

I don't see how somebody can enjoy the experience and fully express themselves on a message board like this trying to peck away on a small ass cell phone...lol.

You'd keep messing up, swiping off the page, hitting the wrong buttons and wrong emojis....lol.

Funny I’m using a cell phone right now. In fact, most of the time when I post is on from my  cell phone. I dictate most of my posts. I often post while laying in bed right now. I’m sitting in front of the TV watching this bullshit called Uncle Tom 2. It is well produced propaganda.

I’m watching it just to see how the other side thanks. YouTube put a age warning on the video. Perhaps they know that it is full of misinformation.

That sister, who did the video talking about how the Democrats of old are the same as the ones today appears in this video. I was unfamiliar with her prior to that video that Nels shared, but I see now she is part of the whole crew of people spreading these lies.

So, one group wants to remain as it was in the 'good ole days' and the other group wants to promote a better future. Well, I watched the film and it's informative, but as a Christian, I will add my observation;

I wonder what the White Christians of the Republican Party and the Black Christians of the Democratic Party that vote think about what the Bible says about the future when Jesus Christ is prophesied to return and head up his government. I mean do they think that they will be going to the ballot box? Which government will they be voting for since the Christian government was done away with back in 1776 for the election?

Guess it depends on how comfortable one is with a smartphone. While it's not the same as using a computer keyboard, it's fairly fast and easy to type a post on a phone nowadays.😎

I like to post pictures too.
It's very awkward trying to do that with a little celly.

Cell phones are good for talking and texting, but actually doing work or extensive typing and editing????
....your fingers and fine motor skills must be superbly evolved....lol.

Again @Pioneer1 if you are dictating your posts, as I am now, all at manual dexterity is a irrelevant.

But yes, posting from a computer is a lot easier. I have gotten so used to posting from my cell phone that occasionally I will be crafting a post while sitting at my computer using my cell phone when I realize it would be much easier just like onto the computer sometimes I switch to the computer, sometimes I continue using my cell phone.

One thing is for sure you gotta go back and review the text. There will always be errors and  sometimes to do that if I’m in a rush.

Oh, dictating as in "speaking" into it?
I've heard the term since childhood but didn't actually relate it to cell phone and computer work.

When I hear/read the word "dictate" I picture a man walking around an office talking while his secretary is typing away at a typewriter or word processor...lol.

Even with that, too many mistakes seem to be made because if you mispronounce a word or speak "Black English" that deviates from the more standard "White Middleclass English" the text will misprint.

Those days have been over since the late 1980s.😁

Talk to type (dictation) still has to be proofread before hitting the send/submit button.😎

I'm using my Samsung Android right now, stretched out on my recliner, chillin'. This is why I now post so much at night. Because I can do so in comfort.

Actually, once you get the hang of it, using the phone method is not that bad. Posting pictures is not difficult for me and I can enlarge my keyboard. The real problem is the profusion of ads and, as I said before, the who-is-saying-what-quoting-who amid the maze of marathon threads.

I ordinarily use the touch typing system I learned in my high school typing class, but here, I use the one finger hunt and peck method aided by the self correction and spell-check features. How the board is set up allows you to edit and delete.

Is Not being an anarchist good or bad?

@umbrarchist: good for now. After the November election, anarchy may start to look like an acceptable alternative. The American empire is on shaky grounds.
