The real concern about releasing the files on Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is how white supremacists may be trying to tarnish his image and legacy. 

 

If the government releases files and tapes of Rev. Dr. MLK Jr. having martial affairs, orgies or some other negative extracurricular activities, white folks will demand that his name be removed from every street, institution and revoke the national holiday. 

 

I do not believe Rev. Dr. MLK Jr. files are being released to add to his legacy.  Quite the opposite.  They will try to tear him down.  Hopefully not.

It would be interesting and uncharacteristic of the government to implicate itself in executing the system of racism white supremacy. 

 

IMO, I doubt the government will paint itself in a negative light.  They will only produce J. Edgar Hoover's handiwork if it can be used to destroy the legacy of Dr. MLK Jr.

They have done this. Perhaps not to anyone’s full satisfaction, but certainly not unprecedented. Didn’t Biden issue an apology for slavery.

The vast majority people who should’ve gotten reparations were never emancipated. Every year that passes since then lessens the likelihood, or even the need, for reparations I supported the effort but have little hope of seeing a positive outcome.

 

I believe our collective energy, currently going to reparations, should be redirected to supporting and uplifting our own businesses.

 

On some level, I appreciate that last comment might be self-serving, but I still believe it to be true. No reasonable person can expect the Trump administration to do anything to advance the cause of reparations. Yet another four years we could be building our own….

As I've mentioned before, the Jews will never let the world forget about the holocaust.  They have been receiving reparations for several decades. 

 

The US has been sending billions of dollars in American taxpayer money to Israel since 1948.  Every American politician seems to be onboard with recognizing Jews.

 

Why do AfroAmericans historically vote for Democrats and they have never championed reparations for America's original sin?

 

What usefulness are AfroAmerican politicians if they are not stomping for reparations due to slavery?

 

The reason reparations seems to be a non-starter is because AfroAmericans aren't demanding it.

 

Therein lies the importance of knowing AfroAmerican  history and never letting it be whitewashed. 

 

There's no shortage of educated AfroAmericans but they are too afraid to fight for our inheritance.

The collective energy going into reparations is miniscule.  There's hardly any marches or protests or legislation being put forth.  There aren't enough books, movies, TV shows, etc., emphasizing the need for reparations.  There's no shortage of the same showing gross consumerism though.

 

Yet, reparations would provide the seed money for all types of AfroAmerican businesses, institutions, hospitals, schools, banks, construction companies, farms, etc.

in 40 years, AfroAmericans have not been hyper-aggressive in building infrastructure and pooling wealth.

 

It usually takes a war or catastrophe or natural disaster to force people to do for themselves.

I'm hoping that as the current administration reinforces white nationalism and white supremacy, that they will do something drastic enough to force AfroAmericans to close ranks and stand on business.

80 years later, German schools are still forced to teach the history of the holocaust so that's never forgotten.

 

American schools are not obligated to teach the history of it's original sin.
