Troy Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 Hey @Delano Have you heard of this book: The Magickian: A Study in Effective Magick by Phillip Cooper someone was trying to sell a used copy for $500 on Amazon. Someone was trying to buy one from me, but I can't find any wholesale copies.
Delano Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 No, I am not familiar with the author. I will try to find an excerpts from the book, or anything that he has written.
Delano Posted August 25 Report Posted August 25 I listen to an excerpt from his book. His base is sound. However you can get the paperback for much less. Listen to a couple of excerpts. Phillip Cooper is balanced and knowledgeable. I like his approach. A lot of books on Magick are terrible and some are dangerous.
Delano Posted August 26 Report Posted August 26 It was printed in 1993, there's a second edition. However it may be out of print.
aka Contrarian Posted August 26 Report Posted August 26 Magik is mind boggling. Literally. I think I may have tinkered with it, not realizing what I was doing, many years ago and that this might have had something to do with the longevity which has become a burden to me. @umbrarchistHave you ever considered that sky scrapers could be latterday pyramids that aliens enabled the buildimg of and that this is why the twin towers did not conform with the earthly rules of physics?

Delano Posted August 26 Report Posted August 26 https://www.goodreads.com/author/list/101524.Phillip_Cooper https://www.thriftbooks.com/a/phillip-cooper/259157/ https://biblio.com.au/phillip-cooper/author/144771 A Grimoire is a book of magic. The translation from the French means Grammar. My guess is the reason spells rhyme is to make them easy to remember. If you have to think it gets in the way of your will am6d unconscious mind
Troy Posted August 26 Author Report Posted August 26 @Delano it was for a customer. I’m not deep enough to be reading that kind of stuff I’ll refer him to the book you suggested. Even thrift books is charging $558.

Delano Posted Tuesday at 04:20 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 04:20 PM The obelisk in Central Park is thousands of years old and it came from Egypt. The other one is in London.
aka Contrarian Posted Tuesday at 08:19 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 08:19 PM "The Secret" was a best selling book that came out around 2006 and was highly recommended by Oprah. It was about practical magic and dealt mostly with the laws of attraction, positive thinking and energizing mental images. I didn't find anything especially new between its pages. I also experimented with mantras and chants back then. Tina Turna is said to have chanted her way to a highly successful career via a Buddhist mantra! Another popular book of this genre was "Seth Speaks" written by a women who claimed a spirit named "Seth" would take over her body after she knocked off a quart of beer. She/he recommended imagining an outcome to your dilemmas and then relegating the negative endings to a parallel universe where they could be dissipated... I've just kinda created my little personal rituals created through trial and error and.... i've had some success.
Delano Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago The secret and the Celestine prophecy didn't grab. Intend to avoid Esoteric books that don't have a bibliography. O was fortunate to meet two older Black men who turned me on to deeper Esoteric books.
