  1. Based upon account name alone, how many of these accounts did I approve? Wide awake kiarakelynack5 wabix earle384946155 Naomi Rivers norberto59g957 kwc kelleyb123987 Dashia The Black Diaspora I used to take the time to look at IP address. There are some places that get banned based upon where the account was created. Today I don't even look at IP addresses I look at the account name and the domain that the email address was created. I used to worry about banned a legitimate poster today I'm more concerned about letting a troll in, so I appreciate my heavy-handed approach may be banning legitimate posters. I may ultimately restrict all users to google and Microsoft accounts. Sorting users the way I do is tedious and not a good use of my time... I can only imagine what a social media sites has to deal with. Social media sites basically let anyone in to bolster subscriber counts, and deal with the nonsense they post after the fact. Also, most of the accounts I approve are not used. You already know "wabix" was dinged but how many others did a not approve? 2. ProfD However, when people want something...short of luck, they have to work for it. Becoming slf-sufficient means it's time for some action or as you quoted...get busy. In Detroit before 1985 (when Reaganomics really kicked in), it used to be that even those who were slightly BELOW average intelligence could come to the city and get a job and buy a house and new car. I'm talking those slightly BELOW average. Even today, to buy a decent house and new car most people have to be smart, paired up with a partners, and both have good paying jobs. But back then you didn't need to do all that. But if they were average or above average intelligence.....man, you could buy up blocks of houses and even save up enough to leave the factory and start your own business. This was COMMON back in the day. This is what MADE the United States in my opinion. Manufacturing jobs that didn't require a lot of brains or hard work, just show up and do what you are told. When we as Black men finally DO build our society the way we want it, we shouldn't make it so harsh and rough to where you'd have to be damn near a genius with 2 rabbit's feet in your pockets just to earn a decent living....lol. Chev Absolutely! You gave her good advice. I've seen a lot of Black folks loose their jobs over bullshit. Personal shit that could have been avoided if things were handled the RIGHT way. Husbands and wives working together......BIG MISTAKE. They want to sit up and argue about how much they need the money and are going to bring their man (woman) up into the place and hook them up with a job too because they NEED the money and get to work together. ......2 months later one of them is laid out in the parking lot bleeding with an ambulance parked next to them and some White folks in tight pants standing around asking them do they need oxygen. What happened???? Take your pick: The man was accused of cheating on his wife and she stabbed him. The woman was accused of cheating on her husband and he shot her. A supervisor or manager said the wrong thing to the husband and the wife messed him up. A supervisor or manager said the wrong thing to the wife and the husband fucked him up. Either way....BOTH of them are out of a job. One is due to injury. The other is due to them either being in jail or on the run. Just a disaster waiting to happen.
  3. Chev I remember when I was in 2nd grade the school intercom announcement warned us about a gang called 'the Jolly Green Giants' jumping kids while walking home from school. It gave me nightmares. But thankfully, I had a few male cousins that were rough enough for the threat, and probably were, uh, ya know what I'm finna say . . . LOL. They showed up a lot to jump in and help me and my sister out, as we did get in a lot of fights on the school grounds. Lol...JOLLY GREEN GIANTS. Sounds like they ate a lot of candy in that gang, lol. I didn't grow up in the 'hood hood but we did have our share of rough customers and gangs that did damage in the community. I remember when I was in the 1st or 2nd grade the school was placed on lockdown because somebody off the street got angry and shot at the school hitting the principal's office. I forgot whether they were targeting her or not. Yeah, as Troy mentioned...New York is OUT COLD with the rats. I remember one time seeing a CLOUD of rats running down the street and up a wall to go into an abandoned building. Again, this was in Brooklyn.
