  1. If you really think about it there was a time where people used the word brother and sister, now people address themselves as nig***, and address young black women as b's or thots(whore). i even see some young females address there own self as a bit**, it's ridiculous, is there anyone who feel the same as i do. because like i said there was once a time where we were Brothers and Sisters and kings and queens, and i'm not being judgmental but you actually seen women in dresses or pants or something where there not exposing themselves, or fighting and carrying on, and getting drunk and young men not calling females out there name, I'm not saying it's totally demolished but seriously we need to see it more often. ONE more thing people tend to forget what our ancestors done to not be called some certain names and they worked hard to earn respect, it's time that us young black females and males start to respect ourselves. JUST SAYING.

  2. I said something along the same lines. If you know that we die from breathing towards a cop, don't breath towards the cop. It sucks that we die from minimal interaction, but defusing a cop situation is the same as defusing a gang situation... Humble yourself in order to live. It's like walking past a 2 foot tall gate of a 4 foot tall Pit Bull. If you walk across the street you minimize the likelihood of the Pit jumping the gate and mauling you. Even if you walk right in front of the gate, if you don't taunt or bother the Pit, it may leave you alone, but the reality is that the 4 foot Pit Bull behind the 2 foot gate at any time could snap and maul you for no reason at all. Shit happens, but you can definitely clinch your buttcheeks and stop the flow of shit. Just close your mouth and do as your told. You can try to prevent an issue, but sometimes the Pit will jump that 2 foot gate just because it's a Pit Bull. There is no rhyme or reason behind these murders. I just know that it's always as it's been. Nothing has changed. We just have more ways to see it now. Well, I take that back... every murder I've seen thus far has one thing in common each individual failed to defuse the situation. We just had a black kid killed by a cop here in Memphis. People immediately began protesting and "black lives matter". The information came out today, the kid tried to run from the cop because he had two warrants where he had molested two kids in another state...

  3. Our Lost Warrior Our black sistah had no intention of harming the “Man” He harmed her, there was no need to touch her with his hand. She was someone's baby, just twenty eight years old, She was the enemy, a threat, if the twisted truth be told. She was pulled over by a policeman but it didn't go well, They say she took her own life, in a Texas jail cell. She was a warrior, an activist, wanted to make things right, We will continue, we will never give up her fight. She felt hopeless, helpless, she thought she was alone, She cried, she pleaded, but no one picked on the phone. Yes, we all are at fault, we failed her, she didn't deserve to die, Look into all of your hearts and answer me, “Why?” Sandra Bland, your death will not be in vain, Your family will see to it, if they can get rid of the pain. You will be missed, but in our hearts you will always be We will demand justice, all of us, including ME. (c) 2015 Evelyn D. Hall John 5: 28, 29 www.myseashellbooks.com

  5. Jornal Afronta - a new newspaper catering to the Black community in Minais Gerais Brasil- created from Etiene Martins I paraphrase the article: “Releasing Jornal Afronta is for me the realization of a dream. Many ask me, but why a black newspaper for blacks? And I answer, why does no one ask this question when they sees a newspaper made by whites for whites? Since we blacks are in ‘fashion’, as they say, we should gain prominence on the covers of newspapers and magazines, but it is for our deeds and achievements and not as criminals, imprisoned, killed or on the run,” Etienne emphasizes. ... The Black Women’s March, held in downtown Belo Horizonte on May 13, with 500 women from 65 Minas Gerais cities, is the cover story of the first issue of Jornal Afronta. Coverage of the event by the Minas Gerais press disappointed Etienne Martins; She said: “Some newspapers covered it and took lots of pictures, but the next day, when I picked up the O Tempo newspaper to check it out, there was a line on the cover about the subject, but the photo chosen was of two white women. For me it was the last straw and I found that it was necessary to launch a Minas newspaper to give appropriate visibility to black people,” Read more including an interview involving Jornal Afronta Publisher Etiene Martins. 6. When I say I tried "it" I failed to clarify. I tried to add writers to my site, but it didn't work very well. I also tried Buddy Press inside of Wordpress which is a feature that mimics Facebook in it's feed concept. That didn't work very well either. BUT I'm not Troy and I don't have a huge network at my disposal. I think if AALBC had a wall with a feed it would work, however it would be just like Facebook in that the content would be very short lived and not indexed or searchable by Google, so that would be a problem. While Myspace and Google+ are not dead, they don't compare to Facebook/Twitter they are both viable commodities and that is really the goal isn't it? To generate enough money to create a trickle down effect of sorts to the content providers. Good dialogue here!

  8. Man... Dear Ricky... I admire your attempt at generating discussion and content but that article is all over the place. Narrow brother and tighten your writing or people are not going to stay with you on those blogs for long. Definitely appreciate the idea behind the story, but if you remember the old 3-5 essay writing method, get your thesis and support your thesis, but don't throw in red herrings and a lot of information that explains, but generates more questions and discussions. If you took that blog post you could literally turn it into a series and keep people coming back more than once. Keep writing though and sharing!
