  2. @Wosey Thank you. As a professional journalist, research takes up most of my time. But when I get a chance to encounter a primary source I jump at it. I’m familiar with the secondary source information on Yoruba culture - I even follow a priestess on wordpress (smile) but when you shared the background of the language, you appeared to be a native speaker with first hand information. That’s not to say I don’t use wikipedia - but I only use to determine the author’s sources - and then I go to the source. Usually when I ask questions on this board - it’s more for the member’s first hand experience.

  3. Cosgrove is a fanatic and certainly knows his stuff. In fact, there's been huge appreciation of this music since the mid 1960s over here. Absolute devotion especially in the record collecting department. Great stuff.

  5. Hey @Maurice, thanks again for the recommendations! I just added these books to the website: https://aalbc.com/authors/author.php?author_name=Stuart+Cosgrove#books and will reach out to the publisher for the Harlem 69. It is interesting that a Scot would be so passionate about the Black American music scene and is even winning awards for his efforts. I'm gonna share your image on social media :-)

  6. @Mel Hopkins "...packaging good journalism" and "...who embodied all that a great writer represents," this is the combination that I'm lamenting the loss of. Sure Ed's interview with Toni was in at least two countries and I don't know how many locations -- and this was in the days before non-linear editing, but I not even suggesting that one has to send this much money to produce something of high caliber. I thought for example Gil Noble's Like It Is, produced high quality content. I don;t come across this kind of programming any more. If anyone knows of a source of high quality in depth, and naused video programs please share.
