Corporal Possession
Well, I believe in UFOs—we’ve actually seen those. Belief in Santa Claus by a child is understandable, especially when parents tell the kids to believe in him. Now, after a certain point children figure out the truth. I figured it out through reason as a little kid. My apartment in the projects didn’t have a chimney. Possession is just another one of those things. There are more reasonable, explanations like schizophrenia or epilepsy. The law of parsimony applies.

Do they still have insane asylums? Perhaps you can visit one and get a firsthand account. I don’t think I’ve had a nightmare since I was a little kid and even then it was only once or twice. The nightmare gave me this feeling that I was gonna die, and it stuck with me for quite a while. I saw the movie the exorcist in the theater when it first came out. I was nine years old and I remember it scaring me. I watched it again for the first time in maybe 50 years and I have no idea why any adult thought this film was scary… I don’t equate being drunk with being possessed by some demon. Dude goes to the bar drinks too much gets behind the wheel of a car causes an accident in which someone is killed and not remembering any of it; that’s just being drunk. Oh brother, OK no they don’t call alcohol spirits for nothing, but it has nothing to do with possession.

Memphis Mom Shoots Intruder
What?! Dude, the woman shot a young man in the back of the head for no good reason. What is he accused of doing, entering a home he was welcomed into? Tell me you have never went over to a girl’s house when the parents weren’t home. Do you think death is the appropriate response? Oh, I missed the part that said the guy was 20 but still 20 years old is not old enough to buy a drink. For all we know the 13-year-old was schoolin’ the 20 year-old guy. Maybe they didn’t have sex at all! I can’t imagine anyone would think death is warranted for that situation. Yep. The only one I blame for the murder is the woman and to a lesser extent a culture that allows basically anyone to own a gun. Obviously, the woman needs help. My only guess is that she lived in entire life in poverty under stress, probably abused or any number of conditions that would’ve resulted in someone murdering someone else in this situation. I don’t blame the daughter and I definitely don’t blame the dude. How could he have known what kind of hell scape he was getting himself into. If he was indeed slow that only makes things worse.

NILF & NEET=People Who Are Voluntarily Unemployed
There will always be folks who are unproductive either because they’re incapable of being productive or they are simply not inclined to be. I don’t think we should be wasting time and resources trying to make them otherwise. We should care for the ones who are incapable of being productive, and the ones who don’t want to be productive should just be encouraged to stay out the way of everyone else.

She needs to be facing life. Her reaction was beyond unreasonable. Her fast little daughter, invited him over and let him in the house him in the house. The guy had time to gather his things walk out the house and she shoots he in the back of the head and he dies in the front yard! There are too many people with guns that should not have them. This is a black woman shooting who is almost certainly a young black male. Terrible.

@ProfD yeah we’re on the same page there.

NILF & NEET=People Who Are Voluntarily Unemployed
What do you mean by worse? Do you mean more people of prime working age dropping out of the work force? If those people are pursuing things that they enjoy doing, or educating themselves maybe they will be contributing in other ways that benefit society. Just because someone doesn’t have a 9 to 5 doesn’t make them useless or bad for society. There was a time in New York City, where Poets artists, musicians and others could afford to live and they gave the city It’s culture and made it a great place. today those people can’t afford to live in the city and the city is worse off as a result. I think it’s great if we shared some of the tremendous prosperity and financial gains more evenly rather than allowing it to be concentrated among a handful of people. If that means some people choose to live a life of leisure great. Again, most of us will choose to do something productive. I could sit around all day and smoke weed the way @Pioneer1 describes so many people out of work. I haven’t worked at 9 to 5 in almost 20 years and I’ve never sat around doing nothing — most of us wouldn’t.

Young Nolan Wells Ends Up Dead & Uncle Phil Gives Good Advice
I was born in the racially segregated north, so I too, was born and raised among only Black and Puerto Rican people. But I considered at a disadvantage, unlike other racially segregated group groups, particularly during the Jim Crow era. I only grew up around lower middle class and impoverished people. It wasn’t until I got to college that I got to know some upper middle class Black people. Prior to college I really thought all Black people were poor. differences in class can create more distinctions than differences and so-called race. I had more in common with a phenotypically white Puerto Rican, than a phenotypically Black upper middle class person back then. At some point, we’ll find out what happened to the young man. If God forbid we find out he was part of some satanic ritual or some racist initiation or just some shot taking that got outta hand, that will be beyond unfortunate but I wouldn’t indict an entire ethnic group because of that incident. All of that said, one of the reasons I left corporate America was because I was tired of being around a bunch of people I had little in common with and who give two shits about you. Sure I had more money then, but I enjoy working with my people trying to make a difference.

Corporal Possession
So who in this conversation actually believes in possession, like in the film the exorcist?
-
NILF & NEET=People Who Are Voluntarily Unemployed
@ProfD right, but you believed all that before you read the article. What I’m trying to understand is what in the article supports your belief?

Black People Courting Rituals. H/T Pioneer
France is struggling. If it were not for its former African colonies, France would be a 3rd world country--and those countries are pushing back as we speak. Look at "Great" Britain today the sun set on their empire long ago. France, Germany, England, and the United States are thrashing right now. Maybe the Chinese will emerge as the world's leading superpower. Maybe it will be Elon Musk or AI who knows.

LeBron James Goes to Philly 76ers
Maybe he just loves the grueling schedule of the profession. Maybe he enjoys the high level of competition. Maybe basketball defines who he is, and a life not playing competitively would be too hard to bear. Maybe it is the money. All I know it I were him, I would be everything but playing in the NBA. But I learned long ago you can't expect anyone else to do what you would do in a similar situation. Really? I'm surprised you did not share a photo. If it is cool for a Black woman to have bleached blond hair without blowback, why can't she lighten her skin? It will be fun to see a Knicks-Sixers rivalry again :-)

I should put that on a tee shirt. See I appreciate that as long as I have been familiar with Erick I has not read his work, and that quote is cool. Well, what do you mean by broke? Is owning a home and being self-sufficient, but unable to afford to buy expensive jewelry or lavish vacation qualify as broke? Someone like me. The dictionary definition can apply to anyone, as it does does not speak to the degree of intelligence a "moron" has some degree of intelligence. Would want to enter a relationship with someone impaired cognitive ability -- someone without the ability to craft and recite a lovely poem -- you know, someone like me😉 Correct on both accounts. Speaking of height at 5'7", I know women prize taller men over shorter ones all things being equal. While I don't really have a problem in the ladies department I know without the wealth of say Prince or Kevin Hart, it I was as short as they were, I would probably struggle... If I were 6'2", oh my 😁 That used to be true for me, but not any more! Yes but was he wealthy with above average intelligence? Man you should be writing for Tyler Perry I not a fan of these AI videos. The arguments are compelling but I can't trust the assumptions. It is if these videos are designed to support and substantiate what the viewer believes even if the presumptions and conclusions are untrue. I bet you could find another AI video just as compelling arguing something opposite. "Generation X" is a narrow 15-year period which I would discourage anyone from using as a lens to describe behavior. I KNOW people like simple explanations but why individuals behave in a particular way is usually a combination complex variables and being born between 1965 and 1980 is probably the least important. I'm a baby boomer (1962) but know plenty of guys born in 1965 and later. Virtually all of these cats got married. I'd have to think really hard to come up with some who it did. The few that come to mind are older than I am.

Yes because they were enamored with his celebrity. If wasn't Michael Jackson he would just another weirdo you'd hide you children from -- assuming he was not already in jail.

All-White Jury Selected in Karmelo Anthony Trial
@ProfD he stabbed the kid to death. They were on the same team. I don't know what happened, but there is little in my book that would justify snuffing out someone's life. Now if the white kid was a shot-putter and the Black kids could not take him without a weapon, OK, but still murder is too high a price -- what did the white boy actually do to the Brother? The same reason Charley Mason does sociopaths are prime entertainment for some people. My point exactly.

Who is We? and the International Parity
@richardmurray did you do any research on TicTok and China, or are gonna ignore that? Conflating all of these people (Frederick Douglass, Clarence Thomas, Michelle Obama, Clarence Williams, STanley Couch , You , Michael Jordan are all in the spirit of James Forten) you are painting with a very broad brush. That shortcut ignores is easy and avoids nuance which leads to false conclusions. Your rejection of the we ignored the fact that the "we" is responsible for all human progress. If is built into us, sure in can also lead to conflict but ethnicities and civilization would be impossible without it.

And the beat goes on...
So was it my imagination remembering him in drag? Just a garden variety cis-gendered gay dude huh? Going back to the original. @aka Contrarian It seems rather than entertaining the sisters (it is a Black platform) it seems the article was designed to rile them up by rubbing in their faces how intentional Miss Ann has been about beating their time. How are we served by that? If people need diversions from the BS of the day, folks can try reading a book 😉

Government Plans to Release UFO/UAP Files
At @ProfD, that is an interesting reaction? Why do you think they bothered to released that video? So you think the US has force field technology now? It is possible, but sheesh why keep that a secret? You know the Trump administration would do more civilization ending if our aircraft had force fields. 😉

Back to the Future: DOW Corporations and other large corporations move their Back offices to LATAM
My youngests were born in 92 and nd 93 and we lived in BK until 2001 or so. My car was stolen in 1992 that was the only problem we had, but I was in Park Slope so that might have been the difference. I remember thinking how much better Brooklyn was than when we were in High School. From my experience, Brooklyn (the entire city) was much worse in the 1970s. I know in the 90s they started locking brothers up left and right.

Government Plans to Release UFO/UAP Files
@ProfD I might have missed it; did you ever express an opinion on the UAP that was hit with a Tomahawk missile only for it to bounce off/ Clearly something was there. Clearly it was displayed technology far superior to what is known based on how it manuvered. The only thing we don't know is where it came from. It could be a number of things, but given What I saw "Alien" is not off the table. What do you think?

And the beat goes on...
I guess I could look it up, but I don't want to shift through the trash. Hi Magic's some gay and/or trans? I seem to remember seeing him dressed like a woman. If he is trans should he be allowed to play in the WNBA with the cisgender women?

Who is We? and the International Parity
"a Lie" Whoa, hold on there buddy! Those are strong words. The reality is that TikTok does not exist in China. I don't know who are are talking to in China, but if they ask for money -- run. ByteDance runs a completely different app in China with much stricter regulations designed to educate Chinese under 18. Under 14 you can ony use it for 40 minutes a day. No we get the "trash" with the infinite scroll of stupid videos keeping kids locked in for hours a day. What is eating at you man? Putting me in the same category as Clarence Thomas... that is almost as bad as calling me a liar. First where do YOU choose to live? That by definition is your home. It is disingenuous to rail against other across centuries not less about what they call home. this country is my home and I will fight to make it better. You can disagree but until you are living somewhere other than the "good ole USA" your admonishment falls flat.
