  1. Open Carry for Black people always has a risk of a person getting shot.
  2. Black people are afraid of Whites? What fools subscribe to this nonsense? Why would we be afraid? The last 40 years of my life involved me being a father, step father, news writer, news columnist and eventually Senior News Editor. I was always a photographer. I began teaching just for extra money and became adept at it. I was not afraid of anyone because only a few people could write as well as I could. I just chose not to knock over gas stations if I knew they came equipped with a drop safe. Pioneer, you wanted Black onlookers outside the Tops Supermarket in Buffalo, N.Y., to grab a gun and plug away at the alleged mass shooter. Seriously? Why should ANY of those Blacks who happened to be near the Tops Supermarket that day give up their lives to snuff out a White dude who may never see freedom again? Because I have a question for you. Why don't you ask any of these inner city gangbangers who are gleefully gunning down grandmothers, mothers, children, passers-by and store owners left and right? Because the last time I looked, not one of these individuals have taken it upon themselves to avenge Blacks and Latinos murdered by White racist killers. Is not George Zimmerman still breathing? How about all these cops who continue to escape true justice? The Buffalo, N.Y., police swat team chose to talk the alleged mass shooter into giving up his gun. Nothing any of us can do about that. The last thing we need is to lose another viable and strong Black man to the prison system for decades.
  3. @Chevdove If you follow Elon Musk, which I don't, you will be read a lot of this man's awesome disregard and lack of respect for elected Democrats, including President Biden. Musk just depicted Bill Gates, who has a pot belly, as pregnant. And some have the nerve to claim Musk is a real bonafide African American. But that is normal for rich Whites. Many inherited their money so they act like gods. Musk is not the guy I'd want to lionize. Elon Musk pays $11 billion in taxes, only because he couldn't avoid it
  4. Black People always had the right to own guns. However, the cost of the actual firearm and the requirements for a clean criminal record always got in the way. During the 1960's, rifle toting Black Panthers always unnerved then-FBI director J. Edgar Hoover and at one time, even worried 36th President Lyndon B. Johnson. I’m honestly not sure that most can recall with any degree of accuracy when a few Blacks armed themselves in the 1960’s. Because I am certain that Joy Behar, although her heart might be in the right place, has no clue what she's talking about. I included a photo that shows Black Panthers carrying rifles on the steps of the Washington State capitol building in Olympia, Wash., in 1969. They were protesting the lack of carry permits. Black Panthers actually walked the streets in a few cities carrying rifles and other firearms in those days. Until police confronted them. This goes back to my original premise that when discussing this subject of arming Black people, one must always be specific. Is the firearm slated for Open Carry or Home Defense? But few detail their true feelings. They usually trot out “Blacks need to arm ourselves,” or “We need guns,” without giving more than a cursory thought about the ramifications of such behavior. Yes, Blacks can arm themselves. But I would not walk around with a firearm unless one has an ironclad carry permit. Philando Castile had a valid carry permit and look what happened to him. I bet others can cite additional victims. Tyisha Shanee Miller was shot 12 times by Riverside, Calif., police after she fell asleep in her disabled car with a gun in her lap, likely for protection. Her family believes she might have passed out from a seizure on the day she died, Dec. 28, 1998. Cops claimed they banged on the car windows with flashlights, screamed and tried to wake Tyisha when she suddenly grabbed the gun. She didn’t. The gun was never fired and a young 19-year old Black woman passed into eternity. Cops fired 23 bullets at Tyisha and she was hit 12 times, four times in the head. This is why I discourage Open Carry for Black people. There are just too many cases where Black people lost their lives due to scaredy-cat cops who were too impatient to wait a few more minutes. Contrast this incident with the cowardly cops in Uvalde, Texas. Now, would you believe that gun loving Blacks and Right Wing Whites actually got together to defend the Second Amendment? And they did this out in public? After gazing at the photos, ask yourselves, do you think YOU could get away with doing the same thing with just a group of Blacks? The link will take one to this news story. The photo below is of the Black Panthers in 1969. Armed Blacks and Right Wing Whites band together to defend the Second Amendment
  5. That teacher was dead wrong and should have been confronted. This is what's wrong with this push to overrule parents' and grandparents' choices. What's next? Is this teacher going to have a Nambla representative come in and extol the virtues of Pedophilia?
  6. Abbott Nutrition's Sturgis, Mich., formula plant has reopened, but it's only producing specialized baby formula. Which does not help most mothers of newborns and infants or their children. Delano, I meant to type immoral indulgences because I am a writer and knew exactly what the phrase means. But I can see why my ability to write well bothers you so much.
  7. That is not a solution. Because of the same problem. Supply and Demand and freedom to choose your customers. I'm from New York City. For years, some private car service companies and Yellow Cab companies simply refused to pick up Blacks. While they still working, Mike McAlary, Jimmy Breslin, Pete Hamill and other fair minded newspaper columnists wrote about this all the friggin' time. If you live in the suburbs or are in mostly White areas, sure this proposal seems grand. But what about Working Class People of Color? So, that won't work for everyone.
  8. Do you realize these White Supremacists are now offering videos on how best to shoot into buildings, how to increase casualties with explosives, how to obtain and assemble ghost guns and how to get away it? I really do not believe most Black people have a keen understanding of what they're up against. While other Blacks seem to know about but secretly agree with it, since they prefer Republicans be in power.
  9. @ProfD You might have missed the scores of photos on the Internet years ago with pro-gun advocates waltzing through their cities and towns with assault rifles slung over their shoulders. Some of these were Black, but in some areas they were legally able to do this. A home defense system would have not have stopped the Buffalo, N.Y., mass shooting. This is why I pushed back against calls for Blacks to arm themselves. It's also because most who support this idea do not specify what they really mean. If you're going to own a firearm, then you would want an open carry permit. Because without one, you're at the mercy of whatever knucklehead could care less that you're' a living, breathing human being. But never forget, White cops will be more inclined to shoot at you if they even think you have a gun. This is why I push back against Blacks buying guns unless they are for home protection. The Buffalo, N.Y., Tops Supermarket had an armed security guard. But when a mass shooter has already donned body armor, unless they're shot in the head it will difficult to stop them. This proved to be true in Buffalo.
  10. Not for assault rifles which are manufactured to do only one thing: Kill human beings. Most people have no clue that one of the most oft-stated historical excuses for owning firearms ... was to keep always resentful Black Slaves from rebelling. Because Slaves revolted every chance they got.
  11. The steep increases in gasoline and diesel pump prices have little to do with any war in Ukraine. They are the result of greed and price gouging. Of course, there is more demand for gasoline and diesel these days. Because more people have cars or are renting and leasing them. No amount of car pooling is going to help. Because too many legislators, regulators and industry spokesmen love it. The only folks who have consistently pushed back against this type of profiteering have been retail energy watchdogs.
  12. @Chevdove "Take up arms" actually means going to war for many. If you meant buy a firearm for protection of self and family, that works. I honestly believe that in the not too far future, people may get a knock on their doors at night and then get dragged away for words they typed on social media Websites. Hope that dosen't happen. But with the hateful way things are going ... oh, yeah.
  13. Israel seems to be doing just fine. Netanyahu managed to convince the administration of Bush II that Saddam Hussein was building a nuke. Which was hilarious since Israel's Air Force demolished Iraq's Osirik under-construction nuclear power plant in 1981. Since then, Iraq had no way of enriching uranium. Now watch Israel begin to lay the groundwork for an attack on Iran, led of course, by the U.S. and Britain. First, they'll start with propaganda. As soon as the Republicans are back in power, this will begin in earnest. Who are the Slaves this time?
  14. @Pioneer1 I believe you are being most unfair to Barack Obama. This country's 44th President was not a political brawler, rarely showed his temper and remained so diplomatic it shocked the living crap out of most people. But especially his detractors. Obama was deliberate in making decisions, in choosing his words and keeping tranquil at a time when most thought he would prove emotional. Seriously, what did YOU expect Obama to do when racists attacked him verbally, maligned Michelle or his two young daughters? Get angry and shout into the cameras and news microphones? Is that what you would have done? Because all that would have proven is that Black Men are always so friggin' angry. And can't handle criticism. Now, that also would have been unfair. But when you're Black and a leader whether it be in a company department, a corporate division or in classroom, it does one no good to fly off the handle. And Obama has the chief executive of the most powerful nation on the planet. So, he let those who hated him rant and rave. They thought they were scoring points. But in reality, they were showing how frustrated and immature they were. Only the weak and insecure resort to petty name calling and insults. Look at the guy who followed Obama.
  15. It's not the Second Amendment that generates money. Fear brings in the cash.
  16. Par for the course. A racist young White man takes a newly bought assault rifle and mows down Black people in the only big supermarket in their Buffalo, N.Y., neighborhood. And then a question is asked: "Who's to blame?" My money is on the dude who did the shooting. No one else. He visited White Supremacist Websites, even made a scouting trip to the area and thought his murderous act would generate a huge groundswell of support. It actually did, but we saw only a glimpse of it. So, what do Black people do about the massacre? Start a debate. Does anybody really think that if even half the Black people in that Elmwood Village neighborhood in Buffalo, N.Y., owned a gun they would have been able the stop the mass shooter? Nope. One would have had to actually be in that parking lot when Peyton Gendron exited his car or been in the aisles of the Tops Supermarket. And that's assuming they actually knew how to fire their weapon. And could aim it correctly. But that's not the issue. Strolling around with guns will not keep Black people safe. Nor will keeping guns hidden in our homes. Ending a knee jerk devotion to racist Republicans will help. But only real Black Unity will effect genuine change. However, with so many of us chasing after elusive riches from Cryptocurrency, supporting Trump and the vilest of his minions and paying lip service to the truly suffering among us, not much will change. So who's to blame? The answer to that question should have been added to the Black Agenda. Because yakking away with each other does nothing. Just as Congress yaks away - but nothing even resembling a workable solution ever comes out of the talks. And that's what everyone wants. A Solution. Not assigning blame.
  17. Drivers in the U.S. are not complacent. But the TV news media enjoy making high pump prices seem like a game, interviewing countless motorists in gas stations in a never-ending quest for the best 30-second quip. Of course, it's a game to well paid goofballs. The same as it was when one glimpsed interviews of struggling apartment tenants fearful of skyrocketing rents and food prices. Yes, people complain and grouse. But I guess since no one is driving a military tank through the front gates of the homes of oil company execs, some may get the impression everyone is okay with the price gouging and greed. But few are. People have simply cut back on unnecessary car trips.
  18. Not just run it, control all of its wealth, foreign and domestic policies, military and the lives of each and every Black citizen. Collectively, many of the Whites in South Africa exhibit the same nasty, dismissive and ignorant attitude of Elon Musk.
  19. Here's a pastor in South Africa who plotted to overthrow the Black ruling government and poison thousands of innocent Black people. Harry Johannes Knoesen, 61, a leader of the National Christian Resistance Movement, on Monday, (June 6, 2022) was found guilty of high treason, incitement to carry out violent attacks and recruiting people to commit attacks, according to several news and wire reports. Knoesen’s group explored the possibility of using a biological weapon to infect and kill Black people, including the poisoning of water reservoirs supplying Black communities, according to the prosecution. South Africa was once ruled by the vicious Afrikaaners, who used Apartheid to dominate Blacks and who kept Nelson Mandela in prison for 27 long years. Elon Musk is South African, which explains his disdain for fair play, equality and a penchant for refusing to pay his fair share of taxes. One thing about White Supremacists, they think they are above any law, any rule and any regulation. Mandela’s mother died in 1968 and his eldest son, Thembi, in 1969. He was not allowed to attend their funerals. On May 10, 1994 Mandela was inaugurated as South Africa’s first democratically elected President. On his 80th birthday in 1998, he married Graça Machel, his third wife, according to nelsonmandela dot org. True to his promise, Mandela, respectfully known as Madiba, his Xhosha tribe name, stepped down in 1999 after one term as President. He continued to work with the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund he set up in 1995 and established the Nelson Mandela Foundation and The Mandela Rhodes Foundation. Mandela died peacefully at his home on Dec. 5, 2013. South African pastor plotter to murder thousand of Blacks, overthrow government
  20. Delano, If you knew about corporate business practices, then you would have used the correct financial industry terminology. "Fiduciary responsibility." You are immature and cannot stand being opposed by someone who will oppose immoral indulgences.
  21. There is a huge definition between Servant and Slave and different Bible translations tend to mix these Greek words terms up. That is why I wrote what I wrote. The scriptures I cited for the mistreatment of Slaves in Ancient Israel prove some were treated rather shabbily. This is an issue which means little to me. I just happen to know a bit about it.
  22. Ahem, when the person who is supposedly IGNORANT proves their point with experts and with others in positions of power and influence - weighing in on their side this means they are no longer IGNORANT. They have proven themselves absolutely correct. For the life of me, I cannot believe a participant in this discussion got so butt-hurt over getting clobbered that he took to creating a whole thread to whine about it. Here is the problem: The loser who has been proven wrong gets angry and launches into a series of ad hominen juvenile personal attacks. Better left to children tossing dirt at each other in a playground sandbox. Here is the issue. We all know that across this country, there is a horrendous and dangerous shortage of baby formula. By all accounts, this shortages hits People of Color and poor new mothers the hardest. So the company primarily responsible for the shortage, Abbott Nutrition, a subsidiary of Abbott Laboratories, decided to spend millions of dollars to buy back its stock and pay dividends to stockholders. I was aghast that this company would rather spend millions of dollars to enrich its stockholders rather than the pay that money to clean its baby formula-making equipment at its Sturgis, Mich., plant, which definitely needed to be cleaned. During inspections that spanned January, February and March, FDA investigators found Cronobacter sakazakii bacteria in several areas inside the plant. Infants took ill and at last count, two actually died. I was not the only one miffed. So were several journalists of legitimate news organizations. I created the thread because I care about Black people, not enriching others. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/may/20/abbott-baby-formula-shareholder-profits https://www.politico.com/news/2022/04/28/whistleblower-fda-baby-formula-00028569 https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/what-happened-with-abbott-baby-formula-that-worsened-us-shortage-2022-05-16/ My thread about this completely ticked off Delano. His response? He attacked ME. But not Abbott Nutrition for doing something so completely clueless and morally untenable. Because Abbott's move angered millions of people. Delano defended Abbott's move, claiming companies should do right by shareholders. Until the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee agreed with my stance and launched an investigation into why Abbott Laboratories decided to delay a needed cleanup of its baby formula plant to hand out millions to its stockholders. Senate Finance Committee chairman launches probe of Abbott Labs enrichment of stockholders Which is proof my stance is the correct one. One cannot take issue with the Truth. One thing I have learned by being a competent writer - I tick off people who cannot match me for intellect. This has been going for decades. It does not faze me. You should have seen the crap I put with exposing Barack Obama haters on White Conservative threads. Know what happened on those? I received private messages from a dozen participants who grudgingly admitted that I was right. Which is why I chuckle at the so-called offended ones. Go the Abbott Nutrition baby formula thread and read it for yourself. I just cannot believe Delano's silly excuse that he "knows about business." So do I. But fiduciary responsibility to shareholders should never take a back seat to the safety and well-being of customers who are defenseless infants and toddlers. So Delano got butt-hurt when I proved that so many were angry at Abbott as I was and created a whole new thread to whine about it. Discussion group immaturity. It never dies. Know how to beat Discussion Group and News Forum immaturity? With FACTS.
  23. Well, many Black people refuse to sit back and take it. Some get up off their rear ends and advocate, advocate and advocate! Here's a Black man who REFUSED to let the racist murder of his grandfather go unnoticed. Fred Rouse III spearheaded a drive to turn a dilapidated former building, once used as a headquarters for the Ku Klux Klan in Forth Worth, Texas, into a cultural and healing center. His grandfather, Fred Rouse, was lynched not far from this building. It is really heartening to see how many Black men and and women choose to educate themselves and strike back at the real enemy of HATE - ignorance, rather than resort to attacking and fulminating against their own people. The best to you and your family, Mr. Rouse III. One Texas Black man honors his lynched grandfather
  24. And we have another! Four people are reported dead after a shooting at the Natalie Building which is part of St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. The gunman, reportedly a Black man, killed himself. He was armed with a rifle and a pistol, according to ABC News. Police said both weapons had been fired. The Governor of Oklahoma has already declared this a Hate Crime. But apparently what happened in the Greenwood section of Tulsa 101 years ago was not. With multiple people, including employees and visitors reportedly injured, the death toll from this latest shooting might rise, news reports said.
  25. Can't stand being shown up to be a dang fool, can you? Nels is not a writer. I am. I accept your surrender.
