  1. Nels, I learned long ago that trying to follow your nonsensical responses is pointless.
  2. I do. But I want you to put your agenda together from those who think they know everything. Query them. Ask what THEY think. Or, read some Black books that detail ideas on issues near and dear to our people. If you fancy a few paragraphs or the theme of a chapter, then copy it. But make sure you attribute what you use. Ask anyone who thinks they know what obstacles the Black Community faces. Then go to some experts on different Websites and solicit opinions on solutions.
  3. Troy, I have no problem with divergent opinions if they are sourced or written well. My problem is with illogical defenses of the GOP and denial of racism.
  4. I appreciate it, too. But I abhor those who dismiss the suffering of Black people and others or jump to the defense of Trump for whatever reasons they prefer to trot out. I was stunned by the hysterical rants from Mzuri who seemed to have it in for Cardi B and anyone else who disagreed. I am aware Cardi B has said some things that raised eyebrows. But people say all sorts of things to garner attention, start a controversy or to make money. Just as GOP's Sen. Ted Cruz did when he attacked newly confirmed Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson during a Senate hearing and then checked his phone to see if he was trending on Twitter. (By the way, Tashsa K, the YouTube blogger who constantly lied to malign the Dominican entertainer, faces jail time and a $50,000 fine for refusing a federal judge's order to remove the offending content. This is after all parties mutually agreed to the move. The blogger is still on the hook for $1. 25 million she owes after losing a defamation lawsuit). I don't know if he's still waging war on his "Battlefield of Life," but Nels' nonsensical, anti-Black screeds surprised me on a forum where most tended to celebrated Black Achievement or engaged in thoughtful discussion. But Nels is another who thinks Trump can do no wrong. Black People can practically accomplish anything if given a chance, the same resources and opportunities Whites have. So, I'm not surprised many on here both think Trump and Republicans are the answer. However, the majority of Black people in this country feel differently. And neither party has a lock on morality. Both have corrupt members and alleged criminals and of course, quite a few that have been convicted. There are those on here who deny racism, White Supremacy, the loss of our Voting Rights, not to mention the huge disparity in Income, Education, Health and Mental Health Care. I will never agree with politicians who believe in handing over billions in tax cuts to the wealthy while Black, Latino and other disadvantaged children have to make do with subpar cafeteria food, old textbooks and unheated and less than ideal school buildings. This is still going on while Republicans gleefully ban books written by Blacks because they don't know what heck CRT is. The Governor of Texas sits in a wheelchair. But had the audacity to slash funding for disabled children's therapy to pay for tax cuts for property owners in 2017. Another example of Compassionate Conservatism. Defend all that? You're echoing Right Wingers.
  5. I did not say you censor anything. I said you could, if you wanted to. And this forum HAS become a Right Wing echo chamber. That is my opinion.
  6. Thanks to a suggestion from Troy to check first to see if certain books are available on this Website, here is your reply: The Black Agenda
  7. China has banned cryptocurrency for a lot of reasons. Beijing wants total control over all financial transactions lest something pose a threat to their Communist slash Capitalist slash Private Sector slash Party Elite-dominated world. One of the main reasons is because of all the electricity that crypto uses for each transaction, even for a cup for coffee. This link will take you to a news story on Fortune magazine's Website detailing the cost of an average Bitcoin transaction. Bitcoin transactions use a lot of electricity
  8. @ProfD I did not say Troy was heavy handed in censorship. I said that Troy COULD impose censorship if he wanted. And I would not disagree with his right to do so. This is his Website. I've been a thorn in the side of the Right Wing since 1972. And I've been making fun of Republicans since forever. And even Trump fans have laughed at my memes of him. Lord Dampnut is an easy dude to poke fun of. I was a moderator of two Black-issue Facebook groups. The biggest problem I and other mods had was trying to tone down the anti-White vehemence, the incessant attacks on Black Women, how they should dress, wear their hair and how they should behave. Anti-Christian hate was always present and there was a serious problem of duplicate posts. It was always difficult trying to make some understand that just because Barack Obama was in the White House, that did not mean racism was over, $1 million reparation checks were on their way and everybody Black would make $100,000 a year. Some individuals just have unreasonable goals, ignore reality blame or someone else for their failures. I didn't delete or ban anything or anyone. I could care less what a person thought. Unless it was duplicate post. Or someone just bent on trolling. But this is not my Website. I just post here.
  9. We really do have to hold our head and most of us do. Most of the victims appear to be ordinary New Yorkers who ride those trains every day. I lived in Sunset Park for 24 years. I was always on those trains. Latinos, Blacks, Asians, Whites and many folks from the Caribbean are on those trains. That particular stop, 36th Street, is where I transferred to a line that took me close to my apartment. My son and I took many a cab home from there. This train was going northbound from 59th Street, the beginning of Bay Ridge. If the trains were not running, my son and I simply walked to a McDonald's three blocks south and waited for a bus which dropped us off a block away. And yeah, he will be charged with Terrorism.
  10. Troy, Several publications ran this news story. And it is a legitimate news story. Though one that is completely slanted. I just added my own humor. Right at the beginning, I said "this is going to upset a lot of people." I also noted that the study's conclusions are a bit harsh. But it dovetails exactly what I think about certain ones on this forum who are obsessed with promoting cryptocurrency, which you yourself noted, is volatile, prone to thieves and will remain so until it is regulated. Again, I had no idea this discussion forum had morphed into a Conservative echo chamber where incessant attacks against Black people were permitted, but not pushback. Once you labeled me a troll because I asked if I could post my own memes. Then in a discussion about education, you found out we went to the same high school. Your attitude changed a bit. I'm no troll. And this is your Website. You finance it. And I certainly agree with your right to impose censorship.
  11. Troy, thank you. I actually grabbed an image of the publication by doing a image search on Google. I bought several copies this publication and handed them out to my colleagues and family. One publication I really want to reacquire is "Without Sanctuary." I have a really interesting story from my teaching days about this publication and it involves that subway station everyone saw in the aftermath of the subway shooting. Once again. thank you.
  12. I dare anyone to prove that Black people could vote in large numbers or were free to do so in 1865. Thus, attempting to create an all-Black political party back then would prove a fantasy. I agree with the idea of creating one. But I don’t see reality being respected. Black voters are not a monolith. We think differently. Most want all of us to be educated, skilled and free to financially exploit our talents. Most of us want our families safe and for all to own a home at some point. The problem is we disagree on how to accomplish this – but it’s never acknowledged. And that must be addressed – or you’ll taking about this until The End Times. This is why I noted any plan must be WORKABLE. And detailed. We need create an agenda most of us can agree with or one that will work for the majority of us. Because we know some proposals will never please all. But there is no friggin’ way I will denounce every single Black legislator who has been elected or work to ensure their defeat. We are not perfect. Neither are they. And people can and do change. If we can aim to put pressure on major political parties, then we can aim to put pressure on Black legislators to bring them around to our way of thinking. We need to add to the numbers of our representatives. Not start from scratch.
  13. The notion that Blacks should form their own political party has been around for since Hillary lost to Trump. Generally, I’d say the Democratic Party has been better for Black America than the GOP. For most of U.S. history, the Republican Party had a stranglehold on the Black vote. But after racist Whites in the South defected to the GOP in the 1960's and the early ’70s, the Democratic Party became the party of Black America. This switch actually began 1948. Blacks favoring Democrats culminated in the election of Barack Obama in 2008 and his re-election four years later. Despite Obama preventing the country from sliding into a Depression and passing the Affordable Care Act, for the most part, things did not improve for the majority of Blacks. Well, there’s always the GOP, the party of Voter Suppression, States’ Rights and White Supremacy. And of course, Trump, who is a modern buffoonish version of Benito Mussolini. With an-all Black political party, our people might be able to really put some pressure on both major parties to do our bidding. But there’s a catch. Now, we may never be able to match the wealth or media domination of AIPAC, the political action committee that fronts for Israel. Or be equal with other high-pressure groups such as the various LGBT lobbyists. Money talks in Washington, D.C., and as a group, Blacks do not have much of it to donate to politicians. Most our disposable income is earmarked for essentials, such as housing rent, food, transportation and medical care. Our power has always been in The Vote. But that power has been diminished by Voter Suppression and our own in-fighting. Closing the racial wealth gap cannot be done without heavy and progressive taxing of the richest in the U.S. Still, creating a workable and sustainable Black political party will be a start.
  14. Why do so many miss the mark? The problem is not blaming those who grieve or rage over the loss of innocents in our communities, disparaging those who fail to absorb school lessons if cursed with a talentless teacher or claiming it's our fault for failing to create a space for the angry. It's the lack of funding of decent and adequate schools, the disparity in health and mental care and the easy availability of firearms. All of these negatives plague the Black Community. But too many ignore this. You're grousing about this obviously mentally ill man, but not mentioning Patrick Lyoya, who was executed by a White cop in Grand Rapids, Mich.. After a brief chase and struggle, the cop had the 26-year old African immigrant face down on the ground when he suddenly pulled his gun and fired a bullet, point blank, into his head. I will always believe the conclusions of that Australian study of crypto fanatics are harsh. But they are actually close the truth. Many bitcoin fans truly do not care about anyone else which is why it's so easy for some of them to deny White Supremacy still exists. But few White racists want to wear a White hood anymore. Dry cleaning bills are expensive, you know. Today, many White racists prefer to wear suits and win elections. Or don blue jeans and other casual apparel. The best attire for storming school board meetings and demanding books by Black authors be banished beyond the caves of Hades. All because they don't know what the hell CRT is. Now, back to Frank James who like many on here, wants to blame a Black man for all that's wrong with the world.
  15. This is sure going to upset a lot of folks. A study from Australia's Queensland of Technology has found that the average Bitcoin enthusiast is a calculating psychopath with an inflated ego. Now, I wouldn't go that far. But I would definitely say some don't seem to care about the well being of other Blacks and enjoy disparaging those who defend our people who still struggle. And most do get dressed in the morning. I guess this explains on the part of some, their fascination with Donald Trump and belief this proven racist is a really great guy, owns the stairway to heaven, the escalator and probably the high speed elevator, too. Ah, but don't take it from me. A recent survey of more than 500 people studied the personality traits most common among crypto enthusiasts discovered that many cryptocurrency investors exhibit signs of the “dark tetrad." This is a group of four unsavory traits made up of narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy and sadism. Sadism? Whaaaaaat? Knowing this, I will ever be able eat creamed asparagus sprinkled with peanut brittle and purple-colored corn flakes for lunch ever again. In plain English, that means dark tetrads have an inflated sense of self-importance and derive pleasure from the pain of others, according to some White dude who works at The Sun, which is owned by Fox News' Rupert Murdoch, another White dude who rails against being "woke." Probably because the 89-year old soon won't be. I know. That was cruel. And I'm no fan of Bitcoin. Or any cryptocurrency or even a crypt. So I can't be a sadist. Or a bitcoin. And one thing about Aussies. They know how to be sadists. Ask the original residents of Australia. Still, I think this look see at a relatively small number of folks who appear hellbent on ignoring truth, justice and centuries of the American way in favor of future riches kinda proves what I've always suspected about some Bitcoin cheerleaders on here. A few have blinders on when it comes to viewing how Blacks are actually treated from sea to shining sea. Here, read it for yourself: Many Bitcoin fans are psychopaths and narcissists
  16. @ProfD My post was not directed AT you. Your quote is further proof that we Black People suffer from traitors in our midst. You care for your people and never denigrate them.
  17. The passage of the Anti-Lynching Bill is not a trick to get Black people to support the Democratic Party. Views on race matters and racism are hardened in this country. They're not going to change. By the way, understand that both dominant political parties switched sides and ideologies on race and racism during the 1960s. Especially after President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964. No passage of any bill designed to protect the lives of Black people is going to change anyone's opinion. Those of our kind who despise us or believe we are beneath them probably share a similar opinion: Whatever violence or discrimination is visited upon us, we probably deserve it since we do not lionize folks in the GOP. Emmett Till was NOT lynched? Do you even KNOW what the term actually means? Apparently you don't. It does not mean always hanging a person. Lynching is defined by several scholars and Britannica dot com as using violence under the pretext of administering justice without a trial or due process to those accused of a crime, often with inflicting torture and mutilation. One more time, lynching means to kill someone who is believed to have a committed a crime or violated some social more that only White people could engage in - without due process. Emmett Till was accused of whistling at a White woman. An act looked down upon when he he was alive. For only White men could do such a dastardly thing. Decades after his murder, the woman admitted she lied. Since most Blacks who were murdered by racist Whites were hung, (the better to display the body and offer a great target for blasting away with guns), this was the preferred method to terrorize Black people. One could schedule a lynching, hold a picnic (which was often) and then cut the body up and take pieces home as souvenirs. But all who were lynched were not hung. Some were kidnapped and shot, tossed off bridges, strangled in secret and their bodies dumped, chased down, dragged out of court rooms and jails, strapped to poles or ties to piles of firewood and then burned alive. So, sorry to disprove your errant history, bub. For more information of how you are dead-ass wrong, see if you can obtain a copy of this publication. It is a collection of true newspaper accounts of Black men and women who were murdered by mobs of White men. One Black man was murdered, for the innocuous crimes of refusing to remove an Army uniform he wore after serving in Europe for the U.S. in World War I. He had littles else to wear. Yeah, we are such dishonorable, immoral and criminally minded people - according to some on here. Why was the bill passed? This had been a long standing goal of African Americans and our defenders. White Missouri Representative Leonidas Dyer introduced his anti-Lynching bill in 1918. Why? He was disgusted by what Whites always did to us during or after race riots. Or gee, sometimes for fun. Ida Wells tried for years to get such a law passed. It took this long to receive redress. But I would not worry, AAJones. For I am certain that in time, amid sustained loud whines of complaint and cries of "unfair, unfair," our mighty Conservative dominated Supreme Court shall defang this law. Just as it did with the Voting Rights Act in September 2013. So, keep the faith. And your White hood.
  18. Judge Jackson takes her seat when Associate Justice Stephen Breyer steps down in June or July.
  19. @ProfD You may never convince a Black Trump lover that our people are suffering at the hands of White racists. No matter what evidence is offered, what proof is disclosed or and what truths are uncovered, they will deny this. Their whole mantra is something on the order of Nel's mindset: Blacks are unworthy, therefore they deserve whatever denunciations or violence they encounter. White Supremacy is evident throughout this country: In bank redlining, believing every Black male over 12 is going to commit a crime, the quick decisions by most Whites to train a firearm on us, thinking many of us are incapable of grasping difficult concepts, questioning our intelligence or national loyalty and engaging in decades-long campaigns to portray as us less intelligent than Whites. Many folks of all stripes do not care to use the term White Supremacy. But it is certainly no myth. White Supremacy still exists, but it's cleverly hidden these days
  20. If you meant temporary servitude to pay off debt, the Bible does call for freeing of Israelites after seven years. However, I pointed out that not all Slaves to Israelites had an option to be freed. Many were prisoners of war and some were treated pretty shabbily. Those scriptures should never be ignored. Nor should the truth that ancient Israelites were at times, ordered to slaughter tribes and people who were living in their "promised land." “However, you must not let any living thing survive among the cities of these people the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance. You must completely destroy them – the Hethite, Amorite, Canaanite, Perizzite, Hivite, and Jebusite ….” (Deut. 20:16-18) “Now go and attack the Amalekites and completely destroy everything they have. Do not spare them. Kill men and women, infants and nursing babies, oxen and sheep, camels and donkeys.” (1 Samuel 15:3) Why would any Israelite want to free someone who had been condemned by their God and could work for them for free forever? Most do not understand the Bible actually contained two different sets of rules for Slaves in ancient Israel. One for Israelites who fell into debt and one was for those who were non-Jews. And they were mostly individuals captured in war. You do some research. But most do not. I really do not like to compare Chattel Slavery with what other races of people suffered. This allows a bunch of folks who really don't like us to add their uninformed and untrue views to any debate in attempts to deny the awful truth or soften what really was dished out to us. I've heard the 'Irish immigrants were slaves, too" canard for decades. Some Irish did become indentured servants. But their lives could not be easily taken at the whims of their owners or overseers. The fact is some Slaves in ancient Israel could not go free under Biblical rules. Myths about Black Slavery in the U.S.
  21. Too many humans are wedded to the concept of superiority. If you can avoid these feelings and more importantly refrain from acting on them, I think you're ahead in the game. But as Delano noted, others will decide if they feel you are intelligent. The trick is to avoid the ignorant and the hateful.
  22. Cavalier Johnson has made political history by becoming the first African American elected as Milwaukee’s mayor. Democrat Johnson routed former south side Alderman Bob Donovan 72% to 28% in a special election to replace Tom Barrett who stepped down to become Ambassador to Luxembourg. Milwaukee elects first Black Mayor
  23. Dude, you have been brainwashed into believing each and every ill, failure, or catastrophic event that befalls some in the Black community is the fault of same. You never offered a solution. Just bullcrap that the Black Community could bring broadband to their residents if only they wanted to. I don't hate Trump. I just cannot abide the fruit loops who ignore his racism, give him a pass at the slaughter and suffering of thousands and his lies upon lies upon lies. Read the news story for the link I posted. Trump has got you and others believing Black people are unworthy and undeserving of Fair Play.
