  1. Birds of Corruption flock together. I am still entertained by what the haoles are going to do with Trump. The military obviously doesn't have its act together as much as I hoped it might. Milley told everybody Trump was a fascist 4 years ago. But Hegseth is making a mess in the Pentagon so how pissed are they at Trump. If Trump falls what happens to all of the dominoes? .
  2. MLK got his PhD in theology when he was 25. .
  3. They only made it back down because of gravity. Female drivers! .
  4. I worked for Continental Can Company one summer.
  5. I admit that I find it difficult to imagine what life must be like for 10 year olds today. But surfing the Net does not build a paradigm. It tosses out random bits that do not create a pattern.
  6. If the Idiot Quotient tests and statistics are to be accepted then 75% of the population scores below 111 on the stupid tests. But what if the majority of your time has to be spent sorting through bullshit information trying to find stuff that is useful. Just about everybody has to get tired of that and give up. What does John von Neumann have to do with computers? Just about every one you encounter uses what is called the von Neumann architecture. IBM hired John von Neumann as a consultant in 1951. While I was there I NeVeR saw the term or any mention of him anywhere. In some Computer Science books you will find "Input-Processing-Output" like that explains something. The only good explanations I have seen have been in electronics books but I have not seen one of them use the term "von Neumann architecture". It is like information is scattered around so people can play social games deciding who they want to let into the information network. What does that do for most Black Americans? I must have asked a couple of dozen people what "microcode" was. 🤦
  7. We have an Economic Wargame Society with some people deliberately making things unnecessarily complicated and hiding information about it. Increased complexity does mean more things to hide information about. At IBM the word 'benchmark' was not to be found anywhere. I could not tell you the relative performance of different machines that I was trained to repair. I had to write and run my own benchmarks to test a 5110 against a Datamaster 23. How many adults help kids find books that they might LIKE TO READ? What good is forcing kids to read what they Hate? That is why I try to push informative science fiction. Cosmic Computer https://gutenberg.org/ebooks/20727 .
  8. How programmable are children? There is a saying by the Jesuits: "Give me a child until he is SEVEN years old and he is mine for life." How tribal is the culture and how hard does it try to program the kids? Some people are harder to program than others.
  9. The DIMocrats should create an age limit amendment, 75 or less.
  10. IBM was a tribe. Some people got way more emotionally fixated on it than others. A friend of mine called me a High Plains Drifter. My attitude toward Imperial Benevolent Malevolence was, "Drop the Cash and I fix Your Trash". Company loyalty is Unprofessional. Professional means: do it for the money. .
  11. I bought a 4-unit apartment building back in the 80s. One day a two-way light switch in the basement failed. A new switch from Ace Hardware was less than $5. If I had paid an electrician to do that it would have been $50 to $75. If I could not have done minor repairs the building would not have been worth it. I should have taken an accounting course in high school but I don't even know if my high school has one. .
  12. Which White Folks? Most of them are pawns of their own system. When have you heard economists suggesting mandatory accounting in schools. Thomas Sowell does not use the word 'depreciation' a single time in his book, "Basic Economics".
  13. I found this just before coming back to this site to see if there was a relevant place to post it. OK, it looks like I graduated from high school before a lot of the stuff he is bitching about started, but I did not have a high opinion of education then. In my rarely humble opinion Black Americans concentrate on White people too much and not enough on technology and science. It is Technology that made it possible for White people to go around the world taking over land and stealing resources, not their skin color. Now most of Them cannot figure out planned obsolescence in automobiles half-a-century after the Moon landing. Their economists do not tell Them about consumer Depreciation. School was more about psychologically conditioning kids to be subservient to AUTHORITY than empowering their minds to take control of their destinies. (In my humble opinion) We were supposed to be stupid followers. Like all of these MAGA Morons running around loose. I think: Orphans of the Sky & Citizen of the Galaxy by Robert Heinlein that I read in grammar school were more rebelliously motivating than The Hunger Games that is mentioned Way more often these days. Everybody should be concentrating on NET WORTH instead of Jobs. Pursuing a Career means being a Cog in the Empire.
  14. That is the first mention of astrology.
  15. This society is very strange in terms of what gets defined as EDUCATION. In 7th grade we had to spell ANTIDISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM. I thought it was stupid then, but that was after reading science fiction for 3 years. I read A Fall of Moondust that same year. Clarke used Plato's Allegory of the Cave to explain infrared perception. How are people supposed to create their Paradigms of Reality, both physical and social? I often think the educational system is designed to maintain controlled ignorance. Now we have to deal with the havoc created by Trump. Let's trust economists who can forget about consumer Depreciation for Seven Decades. 🤣
  16. I saw this on television in 1988. Laughed my ass off. Then it occurred to me, "I was never taught that in school." Read enough science fiction and sooner or later you will run into "Orbital Mechanics". Never forgot it. Harvard seasons private universe A snowplow driver in Toronto does not need to understand why winter happens. What does "understanding" do to the mind?
  17. Trying to analyze Trump's illogic drives me crazy. Just laughing at idiocy keeps me vaguely in the vicinity of sanity.
  18. I presume that he did not mention the depreciation of automobiles either. There were 200,000,000 motor vehicles in the United States in 1995. Twenty-five years after the Moon landing that King never saw. I have not noticed White economists telling White people about the depreciation that junk either. That is the funny thing about physics. It does not give a damn about people or money. I had to ask ChatGPT: "In 1968, there were approximately 98.9 million registered motor vehicles in the United States. This includes cars, trucks, and buses."

  20. What is the right car for the middle class? A few weeks ago I watched a video of a Black woman on the edge of tears explaining that she had to give up her BMW because she could not make the payments. Repos Skyrocketing I am strange because it is just technology to me and I have regarded cars as shit since before the Moon landing P-38 Saga I wonder when aircraft engineers from 1938 would have guessed that the Moon landing would occur. Now mechanics are admitting that cars are shit. .
  21. China has some serious corruption problems with construction.
  22. What did MLK say about technology and economics? By the time he was assassinated I had lost interest in cars but had not concluded that planned obsolescence was just high technology share cropping. Nobody screaming about Global Warming back then. .
  23. I regard that as a significant exaggeration. .
  24. EverBody should have been concentrating on Net Worth since 1950. Accounting/finance should have been mandatory in high schools. We could have had a 3-day workweek with all homes paid for by 2000. But no, go into debt for useless variations in junk while economists say nothing about the depreciation of the junk. How much CO2 in the atmosphere is the result of unnecessary manufacturing due to Planned Obsolescence? .
  25. That's what people don't seem to get. I wasn't studious. I got a few B's in math my junior year because I didn't do homework. The instructor would randomly not collect it about a third of the time. So it was a guessing game. If I didn't do it and he didn't collect it then I won. If I didn't do it and he did collect it then I lost. It didn't matter since I would get A's on the tests anyway. I got straight D's in religion freshman year because I would not do that bullshit homework at all. To me authority acted like obedience was an indication of intelligence. I think that pisses of a lot of Black kids, especially boys. I could sit in class thinking about things that had nothing to do with what was happening there. If I had not started reading SF in 4th grade I cannot imagine how I would have gotten thru all of that bullshit. Seen any of the 2 Hour schooling videos on YouTube?
