  1. I found this just before coming back to this site to see if there was a relevant place to post it. OK, it looks like I graduated from high school before a lot of the stuff he is bitching about started, but I did not have a high opinion of education then. In my rarely humble opinion Black Americans concentrate on White people too much and not enough on technology and science. It is Technology that made it possible for White people to go around the world taking over land and stealing resources, not their skin color. Now most of Them cannot figure out planned obsolescence in automobiles half-a-century after the Moon landing. Their economists do not tell Them about consumer Depreciation. School was more about psychologically conditioning kids to be subservient to AUTHORITY than empowering their minds to take control of their destinies. (In my humble opinion) We were supposed to be stupid followers. Like all of these MAGA Morons running around loose. I think: Orphans of the Sky & Citizen of the Galaxy by Robert Heinlein that I read in grammar school were more rebelliously motivating than The Hunger Games that is mentioned Way more often these days. Everybody should be concentrating on NET WORTH instead of Jobs. Pursuing a Career means being a Cog in the Empire.
  2. That is the first mention of astrology.
  3. This society is very strange in terms of what gets defined as EDUCATION. In 7th grade we had to spell ANTIDISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM. I thought it was stupid then, but that was after reading science fiction for 3 years. I read A Fall of Moondust that same year. Clarke used Plato's Allegory of the Cave to explain infrared perception. How are people supposed to create their Paradigms of Reality, both physical and social? I often think the educational system is designed to maintain controlled ignorance. Now we have to deal with the havoc created by Trump. Let's trust economists who can forget about consumer Depreciation for Seven Decades.
  4. I saw this on television in 1988. Laughed my ass off. Then it occurred to me, "I was never taught that in school." Read enough science fiction and sooner or later you will run into "Orbital Mechanics". Never forgot it. Harvard seasons private universe A snowplow driver in Toronto does not need to understand why winter happens. What does "understanding" do to the mind?
  5. Trying to analyze Trump's illogic drives me crazy. Just laughing at idiocy keeps me vaguely in the vicinity of sanity.
  6. I presume that he did not mention the depreciation of automobiles either. There were 200,000,000 motor vehicles in the United States in 1995. Twenty-five years after the Moon landing that King never saw. I have not noticed White economists telling White people about the depreciation that junk either. That is the funny thing about physics. It does not give a damn about people or money. I had to ask ChatGPT: "In 1968, there were approximately 98.9 million registered motor vehicles in the United States. This includes cars, trucks, and buses."

  8. What is the right car for the middle class? A few weeks ago I watched a video of a Black woman on the edge of tears explaining that she had to give up her BMW because she could not make the payments. Repos Skyrocketing I am strange because it is just technology to me and I have regarded cars as shit since before the Moon landing P-38 Saga I wonder when aircraft engineers from 1938 would have guessed that the Moon landing would occur. Now mechanics are admitting that cars are shit. .
  9. China has some serious corruption problems with construction.
  10. What did MLK say about technology and economics? By the time he was assassinated I had lost interest in cars but had not concluded that planned obsolescence was just high technology share cropping. Nobody screaming about Global Warming back then. .
  11. I regard that as a significant exaggeration. .
  12. EverBody should have been concentrating on Net Worth since 1950. Accounting/finance should have been mandatory in high schools. We could have had a 3-day workweek with all homes paid for by 2000. But no, go into debt for useless variations in junk while economists say nothing about the depreciation of the junk. How much CO2 in the atmosphere is the result of unnecessary manufacturing due to Planned Obsolescence? .
  13. That's what people don't seem to get. I wasn't studious. I got a few B's in math my junior year because I didn't do homework. The instructor would randomly not collect it about a third of the time. So it was a guessing game. If I didn't do it and he didn't collect it then I won. If I didn't do it and he did collect it then I lost. It didn't matter since I would get A's on the tests anyway. I got straight D's in religion freshman year because I would not do that bullshit homework at all. To me authority acted like obedience was an indication of intelligence. I think that pisses of a lot of Black kids, especially boys. I could sit in class thinking about things that had nothing to do with what was happening there. If I had not started reading SF in 4th grade I cannot imagine how I would have gotten thru all of that bullshit. Seen any of the 2 Hour schooling videos on YouTube? 14. What exactly is meant by "White Supremacy"? I was having a conversation with a Black woman at a high school shortly before COVID. I said, "White men confuse their egos with their intellects." The history of the last 550 years is the result of who had technology versus who didn't. One White man with some real brains figures out something great and a thousand a White morons jump up and shout "See how intelligent WE are!" This crap with Trump shows how smart a lot of White people are. During Black History Month I was looking for any mention of Hiram Maxim. He was an American inventor who worked with Thomas Edison. He went to England and invented the machine gun and cordite that was necessary to keep the gun from fouling. But who was the first person killed with a machine gun? At the Battle of Matabele in Africa hundreds of Black men were gunned down at the cost of less than a dozen White men. Was it White Supremacy or Technological Supremacy? But the technology made it possible to steal land/resources and thus become Economic Supremacy. So people complaining about White Supremacy while ridiculing me about math or reading when it was easy for me kind of pisses me off. My mother called my science fiction books "Something Crazy" while paying to send me to some nitwit White nuns who NeVeR taught science made no sense. So White Supremacy will remain as long as we let stupid White people know more than we do. A member on another Black website commented on SF books being written by "White Men". I knew that when I was 9 years old. I asked a Black female BookTuber about Afrofuturism books with Hard Science in the story. She told me "That Feels Racist!" So Black self sabotage certainly helps White Supremacy. Physics and Technology does Not give a Shit! . Was that an adequate Rant!?

  16. ROFLMBAO First, I am not sure that we qualify as the same generation. I think she has a few years on me. Second, there is a lack of cohesion within the generation. The kids in the hood called me "Goofus". The term "Acting White" had not come into vogue but I was sarcastically called "A scholar and a gentleman". Two Black boys paid me to take their SATs but they were Not friends. When I started high school I did not even know how chess pieces moved. White boys wouldn't play me because I was too easy to beat. By the middle of junior year they wouldn't play me. I kicked their asses. I think Black Americans get too emotional about White people and conform when it does not make sense and fail to conform when it does. Then the dumbass White people go along with stupid Consumerism. These White people do not know what they are buying. Plus how old was I before I had a clue what was going on. To me Black people seem to be more stingy with relevant knowledge than Palefaces. https://www.spectacle.org/1199/wargame.html I put that on the Black Voices website in Feb 1999. Hardly any reaction. But it has been on some White guys website for 25 years. It has appeared and disappeared from at least 4 other sites. To me it seems Black people want emotional leadership not cold calculating leadership. .
  17. Death of Engine Civilization! Throwaway Cars! People with Zero Comprehension of technology are part of the problem. I remember when I was seven years old. I was walking to school with my two older sister. There was a white car parked on the street and I stopped and stared at that car and thought, "When I grow up I'm going to have a car like that." It was a 1957 Thunderbird with the round Opera Windows. I built lots of model cars and planes in grammar school. Including the Visible V-8 engine. I lost interest in cars in high school. They were just transportation machines. Reliability, durability and serviceability mattered. But the Laws of Physics did not and do not change style. Now we have a Repo Crisis and Tariffs. People should start buying repos. But I find it really interesting that a mechanic is talking about the stuff becoming junk, and for almost 10 years now. People who "Love Cars" and don't know squat about them bug me. .
  18. What is "solidly" middle class? In my opinion that just means farther up the treadmill, carrying a bigger debt load. The score is NET WORTH! That is why Accounting should be mandatory. I don't hear White educators talking about that. It was mostly White boys in my class in high school but I don't even know if there was an accounting course at my school then. .
  19. I am not saying THEY should do it. Black Americans should do it. I put this on the Black Voices website in 1999: https://www.spectacle.org/1199/wargame.html I think that is a (white) website and it has been there for 25 years. Somebody submitted to the site owner though I had never even heard of it. .
  20. What happens to a lot of Lottery Ticket Winners? Would good accounting make sense for EveryBody before reparations?
  21. I have been blocked by two verifiable PhD economists on BlueSky. The man Peter Eibeich is German, working on France. He just popped up out of nowhere blocking me. I never communicated with him. I presume he didn't like some post I made about economics. I made 2 posts responding to things Dominique Baker wrote and got blocked within a couple of hours. I can no longer see exactly what I was responding to. The first message to Dominique was in response to Italian college professors submitting to Mussolini. Only 12 out of 1200 refused to play along. Those 12 were fired.
  22. Gulf of Preztard!
