Who’s Really Controlling Black America? Bigger question: Is Black America Really Paying Attention?

Recommended Posts

Being one who usually prefers to color within the lines, every now and then you have to mess up the picture a bit, or at worse, destroy it. The intent of this post has absolutely ‘nothing’ to do with white supremacy, black power, anti-Semitism, self-hate, or anything else along those lines.

An issue that occasionally shows up on the horizon, one that some people take seriously, but many others choose to ignore and don’t take a closer look at is:

“How liberal Jews in government, business, education, entertainment, media and politics in America, were so successful in programming so many liberal black Americans into being so ‘intellectually challenged’ (euphemism), gullible, naive and self-destructive.”

Why is good solid black leadership so hard to come by? Perhaps it's because many so-called black leaders don’t’ realize that they are viewed as nothing more than political puppets, pawns and chumps, by the elites. You know, the elites - the folks who make up ~10% of the population, but own ~90% of the wealth; there are many different percentages out there worth investigating further. For some, blatantly faux leaders like Bennie Thompson, Maxine Waters, Hakeem Jeffries and Stacey Abrams (who are nearly invisible in the news today), as well as others like Lebron James & Co., are real heroes, when from a somewhat more pragmatic and realistic perspective, they seem more like useful idiots.

IMO, the assassinations of the 1960s neutered black leadership. They literally killed our progress towards unity. Any potential leadership is quickly bought off and/or replaced with crash test dummies.😎

Very good point and perspective. It seems like black leaders of the '60s were heavies and they had a deep understanding of the black body politic and how it existed in such a hostile environment.

IMO, black folks would produce and control their own wealth instead of trading mental and physical labor; gross consumerism and contributing to the wealth of others. 😎

What wealth does the black race have?

Times have changed in 50 years  in many cases for the better.  But certain obsessed blacks are stuck in the hypothetical mode that is  tainted with  a paranoia that drives them to waste most of their time imagining conspiracy scenarios that, even if true, cannot be thwarted because "blacks" are not now and never will be a unified force. Being a moving target is their defense, ironically.

@ProfD   Over the years, I haven't heard a formula for black liberation any different from yours. This is what prompts me to agree that  projecting the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result, is insanity.  The black race, if not totally crazy, is neurotic, and  it will never be anything but an elusive,  multi-faceted dysfunctional family.  Only as individuals will they be on a par with white success.  The race as a whole seems doomed to just keep waking up on Ground Hog day, convinced that the deep state is plotting to enslave them; the perpetual suspicion of those who think they are too smart to be fooled.

@Cynique, I certainly respect your perspective because you have heard some version of this record for many decades.

SInce I'm not religious, I choose to put my faith in the belief that one day black folks will become unified. If faith without works is dead, hopefully, encouraging black unity ticks the box of keeping that faith alive.   It may not happen in my lifetime but I'm eternally optimistic.

One day, I may resign myself to playing my keyboards and stop preaching for black unity and against white supremacy.  I just haven't gotten there yet.😁  😎

Every now and then, a 'blind' groundhog sticks its head out of its hole and when it does, there's a coyote waiting right above it. Reflecting, perhaps we all could chip in and order some liquid Valium for the (um) Ultra-Intelligent most senior memberazzi on this discussion board.  "It is thought that diazepam works by enhancing the activity of certain neurotransmitters in the brain." IMO, white success is not a measure of accomplishment. Global impact, is. If back America stops thinking about 'white' for even a millisecond and starts thinking about 'forward', it might wake up from its generations-long blame-induced stupor.

True and this is what keeps us apart.  But this is not unique to Black people -- most people in America are out for themselves.

Sadly, this is true as well, but we have to get ourselves together before we can start thinking globally. Think about how easy Jack Dorsey (Twitter) got Black people to embrace his platform and ignore all the Black ones out there...

Black success is defined by white validation. Few people will tout being, say an AALBC bestselling author.  No, they lament the fact that the can not become a NY Times Bestselling author.   Amazon brilliantly exploited this by creating thousands of categories in which one could be a bestselling authors -- and we work hard to generate the the sales to become the #1 Amazon bestselling author in say the "Non-Binary Underwater Basket Weaving" category.

Again this is not unique to Black folks white folks game the Amazon bestsellers list for the same reason.  The difference is when white folks do it they are largely supporting their own -- when we do it we support their businesses and marginalize Black ones...

The Brilliance Scale

Genius | Smart | Stupid | Ignorant | Dumb | Hopeless

1,3,9,27,81,243, 729, 2187... And the next number is? One could only guess that you answered this very easy question correctly in your deep sleep at the age of 'two.

And that is quite unfortunate. Black America has tremendous positive potential, but time and time again, it seems like its doing everything it can to take three steps back for every step it takes forward, without the help of any other racial, ethnic, social or other group. IMO, the American mindset isn't about itself; people of all types are now consumed with either taking from others, or keeping others from taking from them. IMO, that's the reality.

It is the American way.

But I do not believe it is inherent to the human condition, nor is consumerism.  We have been conditioned to behave this way and no one is being served...

Think about; it our entire society is based upon buying more and more stuff -- in fact our system would collapse if we stopped by more things than we actually needed.  It is why we are in a society where paying $70MM for  a jpeg file can be construed to "make sense."

Three to the 8th power

Not certain how this is measuring intelligence. You either get it right or you get it wrong. So there is no scale for using this "test" to determine intelligence.

Aka 81 squared.

No one controls Black America. Period.

We are individuals and we are not a monolith.

Just look at the division of our political strength. It was majority allied with Democratic Party until Bernie, the Socialist, came along. So strong was his Kool-Aid, there are still Black voters who believe Socialism is their savior.

Now, Trump has made inroads, mostly because his Black supporters see themselves as superior to every other Black person.

But too Black Trumpers articulate their imaginary preeminence with childish epithets and collective putdowns usually reserved for White racists.

Correct. I've been trying to get this message out for over two decades, but people just don't seem to be paying attention. Remember, If you've saving instead of buying, that hurts the elites on Wall Street and around the entire globe, big-time. They don't want people to do anything but spend, spend, spend.

The Three Rules of Social Engagement

Rule No. 1) Don't debate with the irrational.
Rule No. 2) Don't break Rule No. 1.
Rule No. 3) Don't explain why you broke Rule No. 2.

Very good. Now that wasn't hard. Basic math.

Facts.  Investing in tools (labor, land, natural resources) instead of buying toys will lead to greater prosperity and independence.

Unfortunately, the system has been set up for people to anesthetize themselves through consumerism and consumption which usually leads to being incarcerated by debt.  A harder habit to kick than drugs and alcohol combined. 😎
