  2. Just dropped in to get a whiff of what's going on here since I made my last departure, an exit that deferred to my aversion for being around those I can't stomach. And what a good decision that was. OMG! I can only gasp at how the vibe here has become even more irritating. 'Felt like I had stumbled into a FOX "News" echo chamber, reeking with the gospel of right wing half truths, and rampant with hysterical conspiracy theories involving the ubiquitous "they". But - before I provide further material for possible rebukes from Mzuri in her self-appointed role as the Sergeant-at-Arms of this forum, ever ready to lecture those who don't conform to the protocols she has taken the liberty to put in place, - let me assure that i am aware no one really gives a damn what I think. (And I don't give a damn that nobody doesn't give a damn.) Now, as I was saying... mulling over what's going on here, i've reached the conclusion that this mind boggling phenomenon called CIVILIZATION, in its infinite journey, lurches forward doing what it has always done in an environment teeming with natural and manufactured marvels; visible and invisible dangers. And because it is the nature of the bi-ped beast evolution has spawned, humanity engages in an eternal conflict that pits the "have's" against the "have-not's", and the "already-are's" against the "wanna-be's", dumping them into a horde of "never will-be's", leaving everyone to expect freedom and justice for all. Foolish dreamers - idiots upon whom the abused Earth will eventually take its revenge. Welcome to the real world. Ah, but every poster here clings to their own version of the truth about the "real" world where the ongoing clash between the bad "them" and the good "us" wages on. And each opinionated contributor is eager to advance political narratives or embrace deep state conspiracy theories. As if a government controlled by an evil cabal has to plot something that Mankind naturally does on its own, as if what is happening now is not just another rehearsal for the highly anticipated Armageddon extravaganza, as if there was never a bubonic plague, no unrest nor revolts among the masses, no power hungry despots nor upheavals of the status quo. As if there has never been the fall of Great Empires, as if societies and cultures don't recycle and go through eras and periods wherein the more things change the more they become the same, all under the direction of a Universe with a wicked sense of humor! Ha-Ha. The joke's on us as Fate mocks our hopes and Father Time yawns, bored by the repetition of the proverbial phoenix rising from its ashes. And Life goes on as Civilization survives. But all is not yet lost on this site, and in spite of it having become a haven for Democrat bashers, and a coop full of paranoid "Chicken Littles" beaned by acorns and panicked into thinking "the sky is falling, there is a calm voice of reason in this cyber wilderness, a someone exhibiting logic, and balance. Thank "goodness" for my boy, Troy, who neutralizes the histrionics and relegates others to wallow in the factoids of their misinformation. Happy New Year, ol buddy. Hang in there. And, oh yeah. Fuck Retrumpican obstructionists!

  3. @nels the only question to your analogy , which must be asked , is simple. Is individual soveriegnty equal to collective soveriegnty? The soveriegnty of the individual in their home in NYC for example:) is it equivalent to the soveriegnty of the collective of people in NYC itself? This law by default suggest a difference. NYC law does not allow entry into a citizens home by another citizen, not a member of law enforcement <law enforcement's powers is a whole other issue for its complexity alone>. But, many in NYC , not all, I imagine not even most though I have no proof, but many in NYC want this. Said many are citizens. Their collective soveriegnty to nyc, as their collective home , has chosen to open up their home to the stranger. As you allude to all the potential negativities of opening up your home to the stranger, it is still the right of the home owner, yes? @Mzuri $5 dollars well better be a big bag ... to the borderlands, well, in mexico , indigenous culture isn't viewed as the top by the financially wealthy mexicans, many of whom are lebanese or european in descendency, not even mestizo. So, like I always try to remind people, most countries on earth, their financially wealthy populace has a pro white european cultural desire. and their governments are dominated by people from their financially wealthy populace. That black or indigenous mexican don't have power in mexico. Blancos rule mexico. Thus, the average mexican is raised in mexican media to desire white, to be white, even if they never will be. In haiti, rich haitians do exists. they want to be french, not haitian. In all south american countries, the land owning alvino/branco/white culture is very strong in their media. Most of the people in northern south america are black<northern brasil/colombia/venezuela/guyana/suriname/french guina/ecuador 100% this region is most black>, but you will never know this based on who owns things, who controls things, what is seen. Thus, the people in these communities while they may come to the usa, they retain their desiring to be white culture. It is usually the third and fourth generations who start ending that whitephilia. LAtino is a linguistic race/asian is a geographic race. but their are black latinos/white latinos.. white asians/black asians, and all you have to do, is talk to people in those countries with our skin tone range which I have, and they will give you my proof. To eric adams, I think you had it right, i don't see him as some idealogue, he is looking out for himself. he isn't as crude as schrumpft and thus people chalk it up to strategy. But he is looking out for himself. he recently had to change the job he gave his brother. The kennedy's did this. Most people in recent years in usa go into government for themselves, to help their loving ones, most try to use the language of the mr smith goes to washington to cover themselves.

  4. Temperature dropped 20 degrees in less than 24 hours in these parts. Supposed to get snow and freezing rain.

  5. ************************************************************************************ @Dr Francis Welsin I apologize but I did not mean you directly, but "you" as a general term for all the dummies in NYC that keep voting for dopes like DeBlasio and this latest one. @ProfD Whatever. The more likely reason is that they haven't had the chance to relocate yet. Nobody wants to live in rat infested, firetrap tenements. I'm not saying that everybody lives like that, just making a general broad comment. If the majority of NYC residents won the lottery or came into some other windfall, I'm pretty sure that the first thing they would do is get the eff out of dodge. That's what I would do. ************************************************************************************

  6. ************************************************************************************ @richardmurray Thank you for the breakdown. Yes, I am aware that he was a police officer, besides being Black. One of my last visits to NYC I lodged at the Lowe's on Lexington, I was attending a function at the Waldorf, and I hoofed it because it wasn't that far. I cannot imagine doing that today. I know that there is a large population and that the odds of something untoward happening to a person are slim, but it is scary when you hear about people getting stabbed or shot just walking down the street, or being assaulted in the subway station or on the train. I really hope that this new mayor can turn the city around. It would be great if NYC did not resemble a massive crime scene from a dystopian movie. Stay safe everybody ************************************************************************************

  7. Common sense. Sovereignty 'rules the day'. Try voting in Mexico if you're not a citizen there and see how fast they haul you off to jail.

  8. ************************************************************************************ I hate to say this but you all voted for him, so deal with it. If you all were smart you would have voted for the guardian angel and this nonsense wouldn't be happening right now. But everybody wanted to vote for the Soul Brother. It's nice to have Black people in elected office and positions of power, but not if they don't work for the people. This new mayor seems to be out for himself. ************************************************************************************

  9. Black people are finished in that "other" groups will make it unbearable to work and live there. Before the new mayor, this was a huge issue and now its going to get worse.

  10. @Cynique, happy new year. I'm glad you popped in to check on the gallery. @Troy definitely tries to maintain levity around here. As always, I give him props for giving us this space to grumble, complain, theorize, pontificate, etc. This forum is like a barbershop or salon or any other place folks show up to talk about current events, politics, religion, sports, etc. Differing views and opinions can lead to interesting dialog. Sometimes, it can be constructive and/or educational. Regardless, there's nothing new under the sun. Shooting the breeze on a forum defnitely won't change the arc of the universe.

  11. ************************************************************************************ @Cynique I'm just a regular participant, unlike you, a moderator that deletes people's comments. Are you still getting your fake news from CNN? If so, you are a rarity since they have lost much of their viewership lately. CNN'S RATINGS ARE IN THE TOILET Poor old crusty Dummycrat still suffering from a severe case of Trump derangement syndrome. Perhaps you should try drinking some Constant Comment for that, I heard it soothes the troubled mind. You might try sweetening that cup of tea with a little bit of honey, since your sour personality seems in desperate need of something ambrosial. BTW, I'm glad you posted, now I can stop worrying whether your battle-ax behind has succumbed. ************************************************************************************

  12. IMO, voting should be a right reserved for citizens. The US already has enough issues in that regard. I would not show up in another country and feel that I should be able to vote as a non-citizen or permanent resident.

  13. Sovereign nations are sovereign for a reason. No one should be allowed to come to our country, usurp our right to vote, and then screw it up like the ones they left. Only political novices, lunatics and The Left support this idiocy.

  14. @MissKorang would you believe after 15 years of maintaining a blog, I've decided to give it up. My last blog post was October 26, 2020 and I explain why I stopped. I did not stop because I thought Blogs were useless it is just that most of what I have to say I share on these forums, in AALBC articles, or my newsletter, all of which get far more traction than my Blog. WordPress was also beginning to get on my nerves. I code HTML from scratch and WordPress's editor was more difficult to use! Then there is the SEO: My blogs posts simply don't rank as high in search as the same content on a regular AALBC page. Finally, and this may be the most important thing, all the energy and attention goes to social media today. I think this is a really bad thing, because social media has yet to replicate what a good Blog can provide. One of the primary reason for this trend is the bloggers themselves. Bloggers invest way too much time and energy on social media giving away free content and being driven more by likes and shares on social rather than getting people over to actually read their Blog posts. It is a lesson AALBC learned years ago and is the primary reason I spend very little time on social media. MissKorang, share you blog's URL here.
