@Mel Hopkins You are not a troll. You write more than one sentence and what you say actually makes sense. However, in my experience, news room and discussion threads that ultimately pit Black men against Black women are usually self-defeating. I did not mean for you to take that criticism to heart. Pioneer1, You may believe the presence of someone who constantly puts down Black people is good, but I don't. There's rarely any substance to this dude's posts. It's nonsense many of us have read before. "We were stupid, we were helpless, the big brave White man had to show us the way." Ever notice such folks refuse to acknowledge our race's contributions in social struggles, wars, inventions, exploration, education and business? Because they will never will. I don't waste time with them. Do you think a Black man of the caliber of Barack Obama would? How do you think a Stacey Abrams would react? The same way Samuel L. Jackson treats Clarence Thomas - as a self hating clown. The Black Race is mighty. And if someone wants to waste their time trying to convince us otherwise, then we are intellectually poorer for allowing them to distract us from admiring our Legacy of Triumphs.

Threads such as this one are created for one reason and one reason only. To distract you from the real threats both Black genders face. When you respond to actual trolls, you give them a reason to continue posting their infantile diatribes. They exist to get a rise of people. And so many fall for it.

That complete fool is now Trump's heir apparent. You are preaching to your own choir. The folks whose minds you need to change are those who still support and believe in people such as Trump and DeSantis. You're already got those on your side who believe as you do.

Even when there are no surviving images or historical accounts, people of other races stood besides Black people. But our enemies are doing an excellent job of turning us against each other. It's gotten so bad there are some Blacks who urge violence against other Blacks due to differences in political views. Which is ridiculous.

This is a woman's issue. Men need to stay out of it unless they can bring a fetus to full term.

This didn't have to happen. As Cynique noted, If Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had resigned when Barack Obama was in the White House, he could have nominated her replacement. But RBG's stupid ego got in the way. She began to believe far too much in her own importance. But she was just one woman. And an ill and fragile one. I knew RBG would never survive the winner of the 2016 election. This is why I urged Bernie Bots not to vote third party after it became apparent their Socialist hero could never win the Dem nomination. Unfortunately, most Democrats underestimated the childishness of many Bernie Bots. Like petulant children who can't get their way, they ignored common sense and refused to vote for Hillary. In fact so many remained enraged he fell short that more than 10% of the Vermont Senator's supporters actually voted for Trump, according to many exit polls and NPR. They had no idea what kind of lasting damage they were doing. I've always said the Freedom to Choose is a Woman's Issue. Men needed to stay out of it. Women are intelligent enough to make these decisions for themselves. Unless men can get pregnant, they needed to shut up. The same with the Bible Thumpers. Trotting out three thousand year old Scriptures may seem sensible, but those verses are three thousand years old. How many on this planet still respect their words? Do we still stone people for adultery? Do we still practice brother-in-law marriage? Are there such things called "Cities of Refuge" for accidental killers? How many pregnant women lose their fetuses because of violence from men? Are the men always executed as punishment? Can men have multiple wives today? Not according to the Bible's New Testament. The Freedom to Choose has never been about religion or saving fetuses. It was always about sexist control. The first thing voting women need to do is recognize whom you can reach and whom will never side with you. Then act accordingly.

These days, Black people are rarely freed from local or county jails to continue their criminal mayhem. Unless the prosecutor or the judge is a goofball Progressive. I think the country will descend into Right Wing madness first. Most news gathers and world events observers can sense it. India's Modi has approved wholesale attacks on Muslims. Israel openly murdered a world acclaimed Palestinian journalist who was wearing easily seen clothing that identified her as a news reporter - and Israel has gotten away it. Because all over the globe, in China, in Russia, in the U.S., in Malaysia in parts of Africa, the Jackboots are getting ready to march. But too many are still blind to the danger. Political Disunity guarantees Defeat.

@ProfD When funds are hidden, they will not be found. That is the point I am making. No one knows how much money Trump really has. It sure cannot be enough since he remains so intent on pulling scam after scam. Look at all the Russian oligarchs. No one really knows what they own and how much of it they do. International banking is not only secretive, it is sordid as crap. Brittney Griner would not be held as a pawn in Russia if she hadn't gotten used to living on Roman Abramovich's yacht and staying in luxurious hotels. When you sell out for riches, your senses tend to be dulled. Yeah, I know Griner was playing in a Russian basketball league. But the other players from the U.S. and elsewhere had departed. For some reason, she didn't leave right away. Which played right into the hands of Putin's propagandists. Griner may not be freed anytime soon unless Putin feels he has beaten down Trump's personal enemy, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and hung a feces smeared toilet bowl seat over NATO's headquarters entrance. Trump will never forgive Zelensky for refusing to launch a phony investigation of Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, to help Trump win the 2020 election. I think the smart money is now moving towards a negotiated settlement with Ukraine having to cede practically all of its eastern territory to Russia. This is something former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett alluded to months ago. Just like the current situation with Andrew Gillum, this is a terrible and unforseen shame.

@ProfD I really try to be respectful. This is why I eschew name calling and outright lying. When news or discussion groups descend into immature and vicious flame wars, I post on those whose members have something intelligent to add.

Gillum has admitted he is bisexual. It is a shame it has gone down for him this way. While we are on the subject, how do you follow the money? Because with all these secret bank accounts, hidden PACs and offshore investments, there is no way to keep track of illegal funds. Gillum's mistake was not having a suitable support group for when he invariably became depressed after losing the Florida gubernatorial race. Gillum lost as did Stacey Abrams. They both lost. When the votes were tallied, both came up short. We can surmise, accuse and scream all we want. But they go down in the record books as election losses.

It's actually more than $20 billion each year, when loan forgiveness, outright grants and most favored nation trade status funds are included.

If we Blacks could call upon some powerful aliens such as a race of Worf-like Klingons, I'd man the extraterrestrial radio signal monitors for free all night. In fact, that may be the only thing that might save us Black folks and Earth Humanity at large. An Alien race. Because the greedy, vicious and hateful buzzards who are destroying our environment on Earth don't seem to understand the words ... y'all ain't gonna be able to digest cash money or spread sheets. When this incident first hit the news, I honestly believed Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd out of personal animosity. Because few humans would kneel on someone's neck for that long while ignoring pleas from the victim and outrage from onlookers. It had to be personal. I keep telling everyone these two men had to know each other. From what I gathered after going to several news websites and checking posts to a few forums, George Floyd and Derek Chauvin apparently worked for a time at the same nightclub. Chauvin was known to approach females who wanted nothing to do with him and harass them. Apparently, Floyd would do his best to defend these females. George Floyd deserves a bust of him erected someplace prominent.

Definitely stopping Ukraine from joining NATO had to be a major rationale. If Putin thought his invasion would propel Russia back into the ranks of major world powers, then he was dead wrong. Because the invasion exposed Russian military incompetence, poor leadership and a steady willingness to slaughter civilians to depopulate areas Moscow wanted to control. I don't presume to be an expert on the Russian economy. But this conflict has led to a shortage of foreign cash reserves for Moscow as some nations try to decrease Russian petroleum imports. The war could also possibly propel the most ingenious of nations to seek non-petroleum alternatives for energy. I think the best bet is to invest in wind and solar energy. But I think full blown investment and development are still years away. I will simply agree with some Pentagon and global military analysts who believe that World War III is closer than ever. Abd that's depressing because of the billions of deaths a conflict like this would entail. I used to always joke that "I'm waiting for the Mother Ship." But shoot, these days, I'll take a Ferengi Shuttle Craft.

Yes, White Supremacy continues to plague Black America. Here's the latest opinion piece on what our disgusting and hateful White brothers and sisters have been doing over the past several decades. This is more of a short history of White Supremacy in the United States. I don't like to repeatedly write about such things. Believe it or not. A lot of Black people believe in a super secret brainiac White cabal. I will never agree that White people in different countries collectively plan for decades ahead. How many European national leaders or even so-called geo-political analysts could say for certainty that Vladimir Putin would actually invade Ukraine? None could. Maybe a few speculated, but none could predict for sure. Events move too fast for world views to remain stable. And now that Battle has been Joined in Eastern Europe, we can count on this likely happening in the short term: Unless Putin resorts to using nuclear weapons, this conflict may drag on for at least the balance of 2022. Millions in Africa, India and elsewhere will likely end up starving because the grain that is normally shipped from Ukrainian ports has been diverted or blocked by Russia. There's a good chance Binyamin Netanyahu will once again become PM of Israel, bringing his whole plague of recklessness, demands and interference in U.S. politics to the fore. One never knows what China will do. Though it's likely Beijing will find some understated way of aiding Russia in its conflict with Ukraine. To China, the Ukraine-Russo War presents an ideal opportunity to expose U.S. vulnerabilities in the Pacific as well as Europe. Russia has already weakened the NATO alliance. That's just the military side. There is still the political turmoil that must be reckoned with. The Tigray-Ethiopian Civil War. The Malaysia-Rohingya crisis and the lingering resentment from Egypt and Sudan over Ethiopia's Grand Renaissance Dam. Most forget that Trump wanted the U.S. to side with Egypt and Sudan, the better to pound a historic Black African nation. I don't see many speaking up in defense of China's Muslim Uyghurs minority. I mentions this because Black servicemen and women from the U.S. and other western nations may be called upon to fight in these far off lands. These are not our conflicts, but western powers will arrange that they could be. The war that I did not want to mention, but which I think will occur is a conflict with Iran. There will be little chance of avoiding this war, especially if Netanyahu assumes control of Israel again. Another John Bolton sponsored NeoCon fantasy.

No need to worry about pesky laws, county rules or even a court summons anymore. The U.S. Supreme Court, with all Republican leaning justices voting for inhumanity, I mean the majority, revealed a 6-3 earlier Thursday to strike down New York State's pesky concealed gun law. So, there's no need to get into an argument, then run home and get your gun, no need to mumble vengeance when a store clerk won't give you 75% off an item you want and no need to wait when a rival manages the catch eye and the phone number of someone you're interested in. You can take care of your righteous indignation right then and there. On da spot. This is the dream of gun fellators everywhere. Have your gun and shoot it, too. It will take many months for most New Yorkers to get used to this.
