Therein lies the problem. If black folks are unwilling to bear arms for one reason or another, there is no way to prevent ourselves from genocide at the hand of racists. Then, the only recourse for black folks is hoping that benevolent white folks will keep their own kind from killing us. I don't have a good feeling about that solution either. 😎

@Stefan, as @Mel Hopkins pointed out above, it's not about blaming Democrats or other groups for failures. The fact of the matter is that Democrats could have codified these things into law when they were in majority over a decade ago. Unfortunately, they are not aggressive enough when it comes to pushing legislation. OTOH, the obstructionists (Republicans) have been saying all along that they are going to overturn everything that benefits minorities. When they do have power...they wield it from appointing SCOTUS nominees to enacting laws. I have zero issue with calling balls and strikes as I see them regardless of political party. From where I sit, both parties are total agreement when it comes to one thing...maintaining white supremacy. 😎

Black folks need to seriously consider arming themselves in order to have a fighting chance if/when they come under the attack of a racist white supremacist. That's why I'm a proponent of the open carry gun laws. Folks will think twice about attacking someone not knowing whether or not they are strapped. I also believe the real reason they want to get guns out of black communities is not to keep black folks from being victims of gun violence. IMO, disarming the black community insures that whenever race soldiers (white supremacists) get the call to exterminate black folks with impunity, we will be soft targets. 😎

The one thing all back tribes have in common is the threat of being attacked by white supremacy. The sooner black folks collectively decide how we are going to arms ourselves against racists who wish to do us harm in all levels (physical, mental, financial, etc.), my concern is that every black tribe is a sitting duck i.e. vulnerable. 😎

As I wrote in another thread, the slaughter of black folks will get worse as the ideologies of racism white supremacy indoctrinate more race soldiers willing to carry out executions. Black folks needs to seriously consider arming themselves. This is the only way to have a fighting chance against white supremacists who are willing to kill.😎

You're not alone in harping on it. I'm sure folks have tired of me typing racism white supremacy on this forum too. But, l I'd rather call out racism white supremacy often enough that folks can never deny that it exists and/or they didn't know it was so bad and firmly entrenched. It's one thing to have a system in place that denies black folks equal access and the full protection of citizenship. When the system of racism white supremacy promotes ideologies sanctioning the slaughter of black folks it makes things even worse. 😎

Being highly paid entertainers, hopefully, they will figure out how to turn their riches into wealth like the folks at the top of the list. Otherwise, white folks know it's good for business and perception to let a few non-whites have money without real wealth i.e. power. 😎

Watch how differently the left and right wing media reports this domestic terrorism/ hate crime committed by an admitted white supremacist. I believe this is just the beginning of white folks slaughtering people of color fueled by white supremacist ideology.😎

Her salient points immediately led me to think about the rest of our *freedoms* these clowns will infringe upon if/when they're are successful in overturning one. This right-wing train has been barreling down the social tracks for a very long time. We've been able to see it coming from the election of 45 to SCOTUS nominations. Yet, while they had *power* the liberals never put any safeguards in place codifying these rights into law. 😎

@richardmurray, for a few hundred years now, white folks have been controlling wealth all over the planet by any means necessary (cooperation, coercion, theft, violence, etc). They have the infrastructure in place to sustain it. 😎

In 1934, Parker Brothers created a board game called Monopoly. Ever since I was a kid, Monopoly has always been my favorite game to play. But, it's more than a game. Monopoly provides the blueprint to understanding how money works and the strategies it takes to build wealth. For 88 years and counting, white folks have been selling the game in plain sight. 😎

The degree of racism in inconsequential. It should not be happening at all. As long as racism exists, incidents of it should be put on full blast so that people are aware that racism is still alive and kicking. Otherwise, it's easy for folks to fall into a false sense of harmony and walk around thinking racism isn't that bad or hasn't gotten any worse. Then, we have white folks feeling good about themselves for having *black friends* until they learn that one of them has been arrested or choked out by a racist. On the flip side, n8gglets like Uncle Clarence Thomas drinks the colorblind Kool-Aid like it's a Big Gulp. Racism needs to be called out at every instance and should be an ongoing conversation in America. 😎

Under the current system, any and all black *wealth* requires white approval and cooperation. Black folks do not have an infrastructure in place to independently generate and sustain wealth. Like everything else, the sports world is white-owned. They decide who can and cannot buy teams and franchises. They use black bodies for labor. Black folks have been conditioned to work for money and spend it on things (consumerism) to reward themselves. Wealth building is very different. It is an integrated system of moving parts utilizing someone else's knowledge, skills, abilities (labor) to produce goods and services to make money. For an example, at 58 years old, Jezz Bezos is the 2nd wealthiest person in the world right now. Bezos would be a good case study in how he made his money and through vertical integration enriches his community. 😎

Independently capable of generating and sustaining wealth in all realms (mental, physical and spiritual). Complete autonomy and self-sufficiency in all areas of human activity. 😎

Excellent discussion 6 years to today. Considering the amount of money the US spends on defense and humanitarian aid provided to other countries in crisis (Ukraine), the only real reason healthcare and education are not free is because 1) Americans can afford it and 2) there is no incentive in helping minorities groups. A capitalist country is motivated by money. As I wrote in another thread, an AfroAmerican political agenda has to outline the needs of the people and in turn how it will benefit the investors. Otherwise, the system already has programs that directly or indirectly address the most common things minority groups want without having to pay for it...welfare. Any expansion to a welfare state (socialism) is antithetical to a capitalist society. That's why my idea of reparations would address healthcare, education, housing and employment. But, that's another thread. 😎

Correct. The current system definitely wouldn't allow every black person to be a multimillionaire. H8ll, the system makes it harder for many black folks to become a multi-thousandaire.😁 As black folks, we aren't doing enough collectively to generate, pool and sustain our wealth. Gross consumerism is the opiate that anesthetizes folks into maintaining the status quo. 😎

No amount of money, privilege or access truly liberates black folks. 😎

We know how the predatory aspect of sports agents works. Black folks have had more than enough time to establish a better way of nurturing our intellectual and physical talent. There's been no shortage of former and current athletes who could have pooled their resources to create a super sports agency that works within the best interest of black athletes from the cradle through to becoming a professional. Basically, the consumerism mentality keeps black folks from working together to build long term wealth. That's part of the reason we don't own sports agencies or sports franchises. Instead, black folks rely on and pay white folks to represent them to white owners. White folks recycle money among themselves through vertical integration on the physical abilities of black folks.😎

Ignorance is no longer an excuse. For several decades now, black folks have had access to every aspect of American business. There's no shortage of black folks capable of representing black athletes and entertainers and teaching money management too. The hurdle is teaching black folks how to trust each other. Peeling the layers of that onion is no small feat. We do waste too much time on celebrity culture among other things. 😎

My Millennial nephew who's heavily into money management believes Crypto has a future. I told nephew that I will be keeping my money in investments, bank accounts and underneath a mattress. No Crypto-nite. 😁😎
