  1. Absolutely. I think it's abominable that black athletes and entertainers pay agents a percentage of their negotiated contract instead of paying them a flat fee. If the sports team or movie industry or fashion industry wants a person bad enough, they're already willing to pay them. Just pay a lawyer to make sure the paperwork is straight. A popular NFL sports agent has grossed a billion dollars. Ironically, he went to school to become a lawyer but found a gold mine as a sports agent representing black athletes starting in the late 1980s. Former NBA basketball player Grant Hill and his dad former NFL football player Calvin Hill did it right. They negotiated his contracts. Unfortunately, many black athletes chose not to follow his lead. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. Sure. The trickle down effect of their laws and initiatives will always have a worse impact on Black people and other disenfranchised groups. As black folks, we need to be even more vigilant in holding ourselves and each other accountable and be more responsible in our actions and reactions. Black folks cannot do everything they do and get away with it. We have to protect ourselves and our interests on all fronts.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  3. Yep. All unwanted pregnancies can be eliminated in two ways: 1) Men only engage in coitus with non-fertile women. 2) Women only engage in coitus with sterile men. Win-win situation. All parties get to fully enjoy themselves naturally without worrying about procreation.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. As I mentioned in another thread, the anti-abortion movement is about protecting the white population. Non-white folks are collateral damage. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  5. White folks are not reproducing fast enough to overcome the fact that they will be the majority minority by the year 2045, By that time, the white population will be 200 million. The non-white population will be 240 million. White folks will still be the single largest group in and continue to own/run it. But, non-white folks combined will be the majority. The Pro-Life movement is about protecting the white population in America. Their concern is that white women are killing the future of their race. Those same people do not really care about the unborn of non-white folks. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. The house that is America has never been overly concerned with the plight of Black people economically. We have to do a better job of protecting ourselves through strategic alliances and investments.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. The federal government will not directly pay back rent or keep folks out of foreclosure. It will provide funding to states to manage their issues. Economists spend all of their time figuring out how to keep the house of cards from imploding. They know how much debt the country can manage before triggering inflation and recession and other instruments. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. The Wal-Mart mentality has permeated society in such a way that many people want something for little or nothing. Money makes this whole thing spin. The 1% of the population controlling 97% of the wealth knows how to play it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  9. I'm voting "yea" to pay the back rent if that's what it takes to keep folks from eviction, foreclosure and living on the streets. It's a waste of energy for fiscally responsible folks to grumble and/or complain about any form of welfare given to others. There will always be haves and have nots and everything in between. Most recently, look no further than the US printing billions of dollars to help the Ukrainians. Then, there's the trillions of dollars spent over 20 years fighting terrorism. The US has more than enough money to take care of its citizens. Unfortunately, a handful of people get to pick and choose who wins and who loses in the grand scheme of things. That's the game being played on a global level.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  10. As you know all too well, it's very hard for our publications and institutions to remain relevant. IMO, it's mainly because black folks are not encouraged to support their own religiously.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  11. I saw a preview for this upcoming movie a week or so ago. Appears to be in the same vein as Get Out and Us. I'm glad Jordan Peele is establishing himself as a filmmaker within the horror genre. He's doing a great job from a casting perspective too. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  12. Hopefully, the CROWN Act--H.R.2116 - Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair Act of 2022, will resolve this issue of racial discrimination. There's no shortage of racist issues in this country. Folks are becoming more bold in expressing and/or enforcing their racist beliefs. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  13. https://www.npr.org/2022/04/26/1094870371/jessica-watkins-to-be-the-1st-black-woman-to-serve-at-the-international-space-st Jessica Watkins is a 33-year old Geologist. She entered the NASA/SpaceX program in 2017. It's always awesome to see our young black people doing big things.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. @Stefan, I dig that phrase because it rings true throughout our society. These people are bold too because despite everyone having a recording device (cell phone), the racist will do and say whatever they please. Then, there's the blogs and comment sections of news articles. No shortage of racist micro-aggresssion at every turn. @Troy, again, I admire your optimism in this regard but I find it hard to believe racism will end in our lifetime. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  15. Structural i.e. systemic racism benefits whites regardless of whether or not they hold racist views. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  16. The US does not want to impose sanctions on Putin's baby momma. They're worried that he might act irrationally. Unbelievable.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  17. No. See my comment about self-defense. Native Americans fought back but they were annihilated because they lacked weaponry and blood thirst....the desire to kill and conquer. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  18. Agreed. Ignorance is the right word because even if folks see/hear legitimate news on social media or any other outlet, they still aren't doing anything with the information. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  19. The assassinations of Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, Fred Hampton and COINTELPRO dismantling the Black Panther Party chipped away at it. The assassination of Dr. MLK Jr was the proverbial nail in the coffin and final blow. Regardless of how one feels about Dr. MLK Jr.s methods, motives or political stance, black folks have not had a leading voice in 50 years.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  20. Ignorance would suggest that we're either unaware or don't know any better. Yet, we live in a 24/7/365 media cycle. This crap is happening right before our eyes and within our hearing but we do nothing about it. I contend that our collective indifference allows these folks to get away with everything from killing black folks to changing laws that adversely affect us. That's why they are comfortable with re-enacting the Civil War, celebrating the confederacy and other vestiges of slavery. But, Critical Race Theory gives them heartburn. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  21. IMO, black power (unity, communalism, collectivism, etc.) in the US was essentially neutered with the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. over 50 years ago. The desire for black power was replaced with affirmative action and the illusion of inclusion. Individual achievement and accomplishment and consumerism have become the opiates that allow black folks to feel free. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  22. Human beings killing each other for consensus would be a sin. Violence should be a last resort of self-defense. Otherwise, most problems can be solved constructively.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  23. Sure. If a multimillionaire has a desire to be married especially in California, they should have a solid pre-nuptial agreement in place. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
  24. Surely, any human being regardless of race can be good or evil. Cardinal sins bring out the worst in humanity. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  25. Totally ridiculous. No way in h8ll does a math book promote CRT. Yet, there is no public outcry and/or protest over this book ban. Why not? Unfortunately, the masses have been anesthetized with trinkets through consumerism that they do not "care enough" about these issues. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
