Yep!  I'm beginning to think that once we have earned the ear of Black folks then white folks want us in their camp because we're crowned the representative. I think the white establishment knows the Black community is NOT a monolith  -so they wait until the coronation then they give us a seat at the table World Economic Forum - If  we really have a following then we get a seat on the council of foreign relations 

But see i believe it is the other way around... once white folks coronate us then we get the Black support -- not the other way around. 

Louis Farrakhan and the Final Call newspaper is an rare exception. Now I will never be a member of the NOI, but they will always have my support simply because  they are independent and exist without the white cosign.  I always buy the newspaper when i see it sold.

White folks can also rescind the their co-sign.  Bill Cosby is a recent example I'd put Colin Kaepernick in this bucket as well. Colin simply can't play pro football without his white co-sign card.  

That card is priceless!  

So if together we see from separate ways then there's a good chance we're both right. So then I suspect we already know how to get the proper attention so I suspect we both have hand benefactors/patrons in our community specifically  who already have the white co-sign card.
