  1. My God! It's been a little slow around here. Anyway, The following clips are from a very poor quality video. The video was taken for personal use. Check them out. They should give you a few laughs. The speech was 40 minutes long. These clips are about 10 minutes total. Again, the sound is poor and images are no better, so just relax... I tried to post some of them right here, but I couldn't get it to work. So.... http://careycarey-carrymehome.blogspot.com/2010/04/mask-cant-hide-pain-is-be-babies-daddy.html
  2. Hello Chris & Nubian, Nubian, actually, I might have been in Atlanta while you were stuck in the house. Well, Stonecrest mall (outside Conyers Ga.)is were I saw this mess. Yep, I am going to do my style of review. I will however agree that Janet Jackson gave the best performance, but what does that tell you? I mean, come on... Janet Jackson as a doctor? But check this. Now, I am only doing this for you because... well, I know there are a few naysayers around. Anyway, here is a link to a couple of very crude videos. I mean, the sound quality is terrible and the videos were shot for someones personal use. As I said, I was in Atlanta doing my thang. http://careycarey-carrymehome.blogspot.com/2010/04/mask-cant-hide-pain-is-be-babies-daddy.html
  3. Crystal, I thought I saw you hanging around my blog. But look, don't be puttin' our business in the street. I mean, I don't kiss and tell, and if I put my hands in yo' hair, YOU might be the one calling my name . So, lets talk about that PAWS.
  4. Oh lord, here we go again. Xeon does not hate black folks. It's my opinion that he's hard on anything or anyone that displays a way of life that reeks of coonery. His choice of words can sometime be disturbing (imo) but hey, he's consistent and he stays on the side of the issue. He's not afraid to voice an opinion that may be counter to a croonie. See, fools flock together.
  5. What!? Excuse me, what's up with the rout thang? I think I said Duke would win. Now, if you would have asked me what I thought of the spread, I would have gladly given U my opinion. Geez! "People like you" I hear-ya. See, wouldn't it have been easier for you to say... "nice call Carey"? But no, you chose the back door. NIggas!
  6. Now come on Pud-n-Tane, ask me again, and I'll tell you the same. I mean, don't hate the players. I am just voicing the obvious. They are playing in Indiana, right in Butler's backyard. Coach K led the USA to a Olympic Gold Medal. Now, you figure it out. But of course, some Mr Hap Rap Brown Negroes believe we have overcome, and in such, the ball bounces freely. "Rarely do we find men who willing engage in hard, solid thinging. There's an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains "some people" more than having to think"
  7. You are absolutely correct, Xeon. On that day, they are the winners of a game of basketball.
  8. [Carmel]: "I simply thought" Yep, that you did. And you didn't disappoint me, maam.
  9. Well Miss Camarel, now that I see what I am working with, I understand your position. [Camarel]: "Yeah, exactly...because the responses were NOT the ones you were expecting. THAT IS WHY I thought it was a bad move" Nope, quite the opposite. first, I was not looking for a response, yet your's is exactly what I expected. See, it's obvious that we will not meet on common ground, because your answer makes little sense at all. Listen to what you said, because "I"[CareyCarey] didn't receive the response that "I" wanted, "you" thought it was a bad move. So, if "I"[Carey] received the reponses that "I" was excpecting Then "you" would have thought it was a good move??? Do you see why your statement is nothing more than a porous assumption that speaks more about you, than it does about my reason to delete the post. I took it down because that type of post was meant for an audience of those that may be suffering from their own personal storm. Exposing my flaws serves 2 purposes. It allows me to be free of my past indescretions and false self image, and it's meant to send a messages to others that they are not alone. Again, it's become glaringly obvious that the post was not meant for you. It's my opinion that you are very young and therefore are still searching to find who and what you are. Consequently, in your mind, you have few faults that you need to work on. But I'd be the first to tell you that you may be mistaken in that belief. Why? Well, for one, you hid behind several screen names, which tells me that you were insecure about something. What's in your wallet? More importantly, this is not about a drink or a drug, it's about finding solutions to a horde of problems. So, posting that piece was a way for me to work on my solutions. It was not meant to receive replies. Because, you may not know this, but I've been a member of this book club/board for over 10 years. I have many friends that Ive met right here. Most of them did not know all of my story/storm. Some knew that I went to jail, but few knew my whole story. So, whenever a person show a secret from their past, they stand a risk of being alientated, or a least looked upon "differently". So, for me, I have to walk right into those possible scenaros and say "here I am friends and world, love me or leave me alone". Then I've taken the assumptions off the table, and then I am left to deal with the results. And, I can deal with that. The journey is in front of me... I am not looking back. Miss Carmella, in the following piece, when you see "******" I'll put in divorecd, which means separated from someone or something. You can include a word of your choice. I am sure you might find something that fits you. MISUNDERSTOOD I SAID I CRIED LAST NIGHT, DIDN’T SAY I DIED LAST NIGHT CAME THROUGH THE STORM, WAS ALL-RIGHT LAST NIGHT. I CRIED TEARS OF JOY. I WANTED TO BE WITH THEM, NOT IN THEM. I LONGING FOR THEIR PRESENCE HAD A HOLE, A ROLE COULD HAVE FILLED IT WITH ANOTHER STAR BUT THE PART WAS MADE FOR THEM. OTHERS COULD HAVE PULLED IT OFF. EVERYBODY COULD HAVE BEEN PAID. BUT THAT PART WOULD HAVE BEEN MISSING THEM. WHO SAID IT? I DIDN’T. I SAID THEY LEFT, TOO MANY NIGHTS FILLED WITH IMAGES OF THEM. TOO MANY VOWS BROKEN, THE PAIN– HAD NOTHING LEFT IN MY HEART NOTHING BUT DISDAIN FOR THEM. WHAT DID YOU READ? THE PAPER SAID *******, NOT USED. NOT SOMEONE’S UNWANTED ITEM TO BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED AND TAKEN TO THE RESALE SHOP. IT SAID ********, NOT NEARLY NEW..IT SHOULD SAY NEW. DOES IT SAY I AM NOT WHOLE? IS THERE AN ASTERISK SAYING THAT I AM MISSING PARTS? WHERE DID IT SAY I WAS VOID OF LOVE, COMPASSION, HOPE...AND DREAMS? DOES ******* STRIP A MAN OF HIS MANHOOD? DOES ****** IMPLY THAT A WOMEN IS LOVE-LESS? WHERE DOES IT SAY NUCLEAR WASTE? I FELL DOWN, ROLLED AROUND, I GOT UP. THAT ROAD IS BEHIND ME. MY ROAD IS IN FRONT OF ME. READ IT AGAIN, DID IT SAY I WAS A TOY TO BE PLAYED WITH? DID IT SAY SPIN THIS, USE THIS, ANYONE CAN DO THIS!? READ IT ONE MORE TIME. I DOUBT IT... I DOUBT IT SAID WITHOUT PRINCIPLES, OR ABSENT OF LOVE IF YOU THINK SO, YOU GOT ME TWISTED, FUCKED UP, CONFUSED, AND MISUNDERSTOOD! ~CareyCarey
  10. I tried to tell yawl about WBP+1.That be white boy power plus 1 light skin brotha. See, since this is not a post-post-racial America. There's only one way I pick my Final 4. Well, first I count the number of white boys on the team. Then I look to see how many of them are part of the starting 5. Now I move to the coach. If the coach has a last name that's hard for me to pronounce, he, and the team are in my Final 4. But don't hate me, hate the players. I mean, I'm from Iowa and white boys have been kicking my ass since grade school. Are you kidding me, they all have a hoop in their driveway or in their back yards. That's why they can't jump but can hit that 3 pointer. I know... I know, Northern Iowa didn't make it to the final 4, but hey, they didn't do too bad for a bunch of slow white boys... that can't jump. But see, I don't know if you noticed, but they had a negro buster. They had an 8' 2" corn feed 300lb white boy. Yep, I've had a few of them run me through a few corn fields. They're not very fast, but they can dunk a basketball and sling Negroes off the boards. Nope, Northern Iowa didn't make it to the Final 4 this year, but Butler did. The name "butler" tells the story. See, I've lived in Indiana (Yvettep's there now :-)and there's some real rednecks around dem parts. I mean, Butler's basketball team may not be WBP+1 but Mr Charlie is in the house. I think the team mascot is the Grand Wizard. Okay, don't believe me, but I'm tellin' you, this is not a post-post-racial America. I would bet yawl, but I am still waiting on this one blogger to pay off a wager from last years World Series. I'm not going to call his name but *cough*Keith*cough*fromPhilly*cough* still owes me a little sumtin'. But I'll tell you what, I am open for suggestions. I mean, I'll listen to a few words of wisdom. Maybe somebody knows more about this basketball thang than me. But don't forget, CareyCarey said the nets will be cut down by one light skinned brotha with a white girlfriend, four 3 point shooting white guys, and a coach that has a nose that's looks like that thang that hangs off the end of a fried chicken back... but a little longer. GO DUKE!
  11. [Miss Camarel]: "This post was created by a person about himself and although I think it's a bad move, a stupid one infact to blast it all over the net" Excuse me, that's the second time you've said that but you have not said why that was a bad move. I mean, if that's your opinion, you still are responsible for your words. If it's something other than that, then pull my coat because I am alway open for a little wisdom. Show me your's, because I have no problem showing mine. And, I am cool with that. Really, what about you? Are you secure about who you are? I think the answer is obvious. Show me how I am wrong... on both issues. Maybe we all can learn a little something.
  12. Okay, it's a draw. And, it's a po frog that won't brag on it's only lily pad. And don't hate the players. Besides, you're one of the players. In fact, you have the big stack. Pickup your head, Chris is coming back. He's just on a drunken weekend with some fat white chick.
  13. "Her problem was that she wanted this site to be a stage where she would be not only the star but the script writer and casting director" Well, I am not trying to start a fight but a fox smells...
  14. Hello Kola, I know your voice. although many (most) may not understand, I am proud to say I WAS an addict. See, as you may know, only a minuscule percentage of individuals come out of that storm. Although I've been around hundreds of addicts (work with them) I can count on my 2 hands the number of people that made it to this side. The pain, that comes in many forms, is too much for most to bare. In that post, it was my attempt to give back what I've learned. No one really knows your pain, our pain, but frequently they are quick to make suggestions or give opinion that totally miss the point. Hence, the title of that poem "MISUNDERSTOOD". Also, there was a basic message in that piece. I suggested that when, and if a person can find the root of their "problems" they then can move forward to finding solutions. Emotions control us, and some individuals run from their emotions or can not identify them. Sh*t, running from my emotion kept me in my mess. Ive come to believe that when you give a smile, one generally will return. And, if you show a person your pain and struggles, they might release theirs. I am proud to say that I've been somewhere and I am not planning on going back there. Good luck in your new adventures. You are difinitely a warrior.
  15. Miss Jeez, thanks for your kind words of encouragement. And you know what, I have probably done all the things you've mentioned. But, What About A Time Called Now! If you ever find the maturity to drop your mask, we can compare finished products. But based on your words, you have not arrived and I doubt you've found the real woman in you. And therefore, it would make you very uncomfortable speaking on level other than what you've already displayed. But, I ain't mad atcha. Come on, drop a little more wisdom. You're doing great. I need you. [Jeez] "If it's so therapeudic for you, keep it on your BLOGSPOT" first, why? Then, what works for you? I mean, why do you post on this block? I think I know, but you tell me.
  16. We can always count on Chris Hayden to bring it home. I agree Chris, for the most part (as I said in another thread) a person does not have to click on any thread that they believe might be offensive. Sure, some threads turn nasty, but then it's a person's option to walk away. They do not have to continue reading. For instance, if someone posts a tread titled "pull down your pants so I can sniff yo' ass", well, fools go where wise men tread not. Well, if a person wants their ass sniffed, then hey, run up in there. Maybe a person (naysayers)should take the time to start their own post, and then they can create a "tone" that pleases them. Many people do it. As you mentioned Chris, there are thousands of web sites and blogs, that a person can get their roll out. But, of course, they better bring something other than a bitch & moan.
  17. Okay, while the dust has settled, let me have my 2 cents. 1 Xeon and Cynique are not the same person. In fact, they live in different parts of the US. 2. Kola is many things, but she did not write all the incendiary posts. 3. Also, her inclusion to the board came years after it's inception. She did have a brief "Kola's room". And, at times, it was pretty funny. 4. Cynique used to go by a different name. So did Xeon. 5. I thought the original post by Erzulie was a legitimate question. I too wondered why she included Kola's name (at the end), but I didn't think she was part of a shadow crew. She is very articulate. 6. "lively" and "exciting"... ummmm. The board has gone through many transformations. Some people like scrambled eggs and others like their's sunny side up. 7. Over the years I have exchanged e-mails with Kola, as I have with many individuals on the board, including ABM. They all have their own sparkle. Cynique brings her own brand of excitement. Over the years, there were periods in which her and Chris Hayden kept the board going. She can be a handful. 8. Troy generally stays out of the way. I mean, he generally does not moderate fights. For him, it's a business venture. If I am not mistaken, he has only block one person in 10 years. In fact, the "cultural" option was not part of the original board. When that opened up (years later), the sh*t started flying. Personally, I believe the ability to guest post is somewhat destructive. But in reality, a person does not have to click/read any post that they think might disagree with their opinion of proper discourse. 9. There are many threads that I never open. I hit this one after it sat there for about a week or so. I thought maybe I could sharpen my snappy "come back" skills, because (by the title) I knew there would probably be a little bickering. For the most part, I didn't find very many new phrases or cuss words. But I laughed a few times.
  18. Thanks Miss Attention, Your response was exactly what I was looking for. First, I will assume that you are rather young. So I think I should tell you that I do not want to do the drive-by tear downs. I say that because you posted under a guest's name. Consequently, I understand your question of "damn why blast all your personal shit out ONLINE". You wouldn't do that, would you? But the deepest question is why? For me, it's a way of walking what I talk. See, although your comment was sort of silly, I am not concerned about your opinion of me. For me, that's freedom. You can't bring me or anyone else anything about me that I have not shared, here or somewhere else. If it's a fact, than I have to stand on that. If it's a falsehood, than I can walk that off. That's raw freedom young lady. Try it, you might like it. But it's not for the weak of heart. Again, if you do come back, tell me what emotions arise in you when you think someone is talking about you. See, if you can't find your problem, you can't fix it. If you can't say it, you can't do it. What are you afraid of, and why? Nothing I said in that post can harm me. Some will keep their steroetypical image of a substance abuser, but that's to be expected. And, I might bet that those same individuals will tell you how easy it is to get out. Are you fat or ever been divorced. Have you ever been raped or have problems that others can not relate to? Whatever the case, your blues may not be like mine, but I've found a way to escape mine. Come on, talk to me. Talk with me. Tip: To say "I do not like this n that" is a thought and NOT an emotion.
  19. Oh no! I forgot what I was about to say. It must have been a dream. See, that's what I get for watching daytime soaps.
  20. Yep, be glad to! http://careycarey-carrymehome.blogspot.com/ Skip right past the nudity
  21. ""Let's not be naive. This was not FUBU. They wanted the whole world to see the movie--and would have to know that the black theatergoers would avoid it like the plague, which they have" Chris, although you may have been being facetious, black theatergoers have not avoided the movie like the plague. More importantly, those that ran from the plague, knew of it's death and destruction. For the most part, their fear was based on the consequences of the disease. Moreso, "They" WERE NOT concerned with the mental state of others, it was about protecting THEMSELVES. Now, for all of those individual that you said avoided the movie, the begging question is WHY? Really, what was the basis of their disapproval? Did they think they'd catch a disease or be convinced to commit a crime? I question the depths of their thinking pattern. I don't watch horror movies, like SAWII and Friday the 13th, and I could tell you why. But what I 've been hearing from the "Precious" hating crowd, reeks of stupidity. Much of it is based on faulty logic. First, I hear the cry of "how it make "US" look. Now, if that ain't some dumb shit. Plus, many of those naysayers are making remarks about the movie, that shows the sign of a fool. I mean, if you listen, it's obvious they are just mimmicking words of others, because their comments have nothing to do with the movie. At least, not the one I saw. How can a person assess a movie values, messages and rewards (good & bad), without viewing it? Granted, a person can make the decision not to view a movie, based on subject matter. However, to imply it's a tool of "the white man", is simply negro baffoonery.
  22. That was a good assessment, Chris. I am going to steal those lines for my next argument.
  23. Now that was a GREAT article! That should be required (recommended) reading for ever would-be writer. The whole process (and reasons)of bring a book to print was right there. More importantly, it talked about the need to have a precise vision, or goal. Look at this (taken from article):.... ""Author Solutions' brands -- AuthorHouse, iUniverse, Trafford, Wordclay, and Xlibris -- have published more than 120,000 books by 85,000 authors," Andriani reported in the same article" Even more eye opening was the statement (by the author of article) that although their book went to press in 2001, and was picked up by a large publisher, they've yet to see any royalties. It appears a would-be writer better have a tight game plan. From start to finish, they better know where they are going, and precisely, how they are going to get there! There's all kinds of reason people write books. That was a great and must read article. YES YES YES... Ask plenty of questions. Don't be scared! It appears there are no stupid questions. It's a mind-field out there. Thanks Troy.
  24. So, tell me, what did you think of the new version of the negro driving Miss Daisy? I mean, what's your take on the nice rich white woman, taking in the po young negro. He drove her straight to her Oscar. I suppose you think Sandra Bullock deserved her Oscar for supporting a stereotypical image of the white savior of the black race? Did you like Blind Side? How did you like the scene in which the po dumb nigga couldn't even write his name? Remember, after all the other students were gone, he was sitting there drawing stick figures. How about the scene when they let the po dumb negro lay on their $10,000 furniture. Wasn't that nice of them? Give me a break, stop hatin on the player. There are millions and millions of angry black women, no one could have played that part better than her.
