There's a book called Guns Germs and Steel. It talks about why Europe not Africa colonised the world.

I am looking at how Corporate America or the Military. Power resides with the ruling elite, which are a few families that have old money. Which as far as I can tell in the US doesn't include Black folks. So while it looks like racee it is always about power.

Why do you suppose that is the case. That may not be true since the dominant culture seems to dehumanise us.

Almost right . The tried to use Native Americans but they didn't survive . Eastern Europe is very different than the South in terms of climate . Your comment ignores "racial" differences Economic or Government I said what country for a reason. When I say Black I am only talking about US Blacks. It's always puzzled me how Africa has Gold, diamonds and Oil but has to get charity for clean water. Now this isn't the entire continent, however I am not certain it is the utopia you are painting.

What country do Blacks call their own. What Language what culture, other than what grew out of Slavery. Yeah they got a few Casino what did we get?

Black people define the bottom in the Untied States. If you have any success with improving the lives of Black people you will have some formidable adversaries. Try to tell the masses that Race Class and Sex aren't the war you should be fighting. The real fight is class warfare. The KKK was created after slaves were freed. They got zero and had a hostile adversary. The Black Panther were infiltrated by a government agent. James Baldwin was a bigger threat to the US government than both King and X, since his file was much larger. Why do you suppose the government spend more resources tracking James Baldwin then either Martin Luther King or Malcolm X?

What we are witnessing is a fight for who controls the narrative. Some wars can't be won with arms only heads and hearts.

Every society's life is based on myths or historical cultural values. Whether that is: fairy tales; fables; books; music, television or movies. Identity like race is a concept or rather a construct. Otherwise it would be self evident what it meant to be Black, White, Man or a Woman.

Nice work, Troy. You should do more interviews. Your passion for books and the culture comes across, which can't be duplicated.

Is school or mentoring starting up in two weeks? I was mentioning you to my sister on July 23.

White people like most people aren't monolithic. There are differences some people you can reach with reason. However in my experience I can't say what characteristics leads people to be reasonable. Travelling around the US you will experience different types of racism. In the South people were more polite even a hustler and homeless person were polite to me. So manners are really important n a place that had slavery. Whereas in NYC specifically between 1977 - 1999 the pecking order revolved around style ability and innovation. Leaving the US it is amazing to not feel the weight of race. I am not saying that racism or discrimination doesn't exist but the layering is different. If I were to weigh the joy versus the pain, I would still choose to be alive. However I have been incredibly fortunate and lucky, to have a good support network around me.

We are watching the end of an empire.

I wouldn't be so sure they and their ilk having been present. As was mentioned that quite a few of those arrested were from out of state.
