@DelThe pop up ones are very irritating. They do have a tiny arrow that you can click on to get rid of them "courtesy" of Google and then on my adroid phone there is another symbol at the bottom of the page that will close all of the open ad pages. I have to go through a whole ritual almost every time i try to get to some sites. The "vip" link is a particularly annoying one.

Waiting on your responses, Mzuri

@Mzuri Do you watch Fox News? How can you vouch for them? You watch NewsMax which is Fox's new's cousin and you have the nerve to ridicule CNN and MSNBC. The Republican party is devolved. Surely a staunch Conservativelike you would empathizes with Liz Chaney who is now persona non grata in the Retrumpican party the home of neo nazis and insurrectionists.
-
@Mzurithe Republican Party, as we know it, no longer exists. You should know this. When i worked at the Post Offices large urban areas were predominately supervised by black people from the top to the bottom. And they were not Republican. What i know about Fox news is that it is not Democratic. The present Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, is a black general who is presumably a Democrat.
-
@DelanoYes. What really unnerves me was something i heard a guest on a cable news show say. According the interviewee, FOX News is the only channel being blasted on military bases all over the country. The rank and file in the army forces are being brainwashed by right wing propaganda and fake news. They can't be depended upon to be loyal to the Democratic administration. in the event of a domestic crisis fomented by the Retrumpicans, these troops and their commanders with right wing leanings could mutiny and take over the country then install Trump as dictator just like in a banana republic.

Well, just in case you optimists&pessimist think my idea of exiting this world is about ending it all, what i have in mind because i think your consciousness outlives your physical body, is moving on to another level of existence, something which could be imminent since i'm living on borrowed time Well, contrary to what you might imagine, the cat who is probably on her 9th life, is a family pet. My 5 kids, 8 grandkids and 7 great grands will look after her, something they already do more than i do. @ProfD
-
This from the master of cherry-picking, strawman, false equivalency arguments. You are not an authority of the subject of race. Case closed.
-
@ProfDYour reaction as a black person is why Michael would probably not take on the challenge of playing such a role altho he might want to. Brad Pitt, however, could get away with doing so and would win praise from white audiences if he did a good job of it.
-
In this zeitgeist there is also such a thing as useless information. You are full of it which in this case makes you irrelevant. It takes Troy to tell you about your ignorance about race
-
@ProfDIt's a new day out there. They are veteran actors from the a different era. Do you think black audiences would be comfortable with Michael B. Jordan playing an effeminate homosexual? I could deal with it. Could you?
-
WHO says this is a problem in America where very few black people are pure African. In this country blackness is in the eye of the beholder and he fits into the broad spectrum of what African Americans look like. Go ask the man on the street, what he is . Ask a Millennial what he is. Ask a Hollywood casting Director what roles he would be up for. Get real.
-
Who calls people mulatto anymore? That's that's the outdated term you use in order try and make your ambiguous point. Nowadays people are called bi-racial or mixed if their parents are of 2 different races. This actor could not play a white role. He looks black.
-
Not a problem for me if he's bi-racial. He got black hair.
-
@DelMy request for an answer to why i shouldn't want to exit this world was directed at ProfD who has claimed to be an eternal optimist something you, like me, are definitely not.
-
@ProfD From the top to the bottom, it seems as if nothing is encouraging about the direction America is heading. Tell me, O Eternal Optimist, why should i not want to bid this world good bye?

Have any of you ever seen "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner" released in 1967 and starring Sidney Poitier? I guess the character he played is how some would prefer black males to be portrayed on screen. "Art imitates life" is the motto of the film industry and is something this old movie did in one aspect when it showed a perfect, upstanding, overachieving, professional negro - seeking the approval of his white fiancee's parents. Nowadays a lot of Nigerian actors are beating out the competition for leading roles among home grown black actors in Hollywood. In the hugely successful Brigerton series, the romantic lead, who did not personify a negative image, was played by a black Englishmen named Regé-Jean Page.

I didn't need you to start threads for me, I had my old posts to add threads to. The man i needed was Troy and he came to my rescue. @Troy Thanks for unblocking me. Go Daddy is still blocking ProfD, and Mel mentioned she has problems with being blocked from time to time,

Troy has removed the Go-Daddy Block so you can start new posts now. Write on!

I don't choose to answer your question. I don't play by your rules. If you can't deal with that, too bad. -
For somebody who doesn't understand anything, you are pretty sure.

"In other words" is your ploy to go into your straw man mode, wherein you will rebut what hasn't been said. In answer to your question, "Do You?" Well since i couldn't start a new post, i added my commentary to an existing one of mine. When Troy unblocked me. i copied the old thread and reposted it as a new post. The comments made by ProfD and Delano were so interesting i wanted to retain them, but i guess that's too confusing,so i will delete what they said. Sorry you couldn't figure it out. -
Posted Monday at 03:51 PM · IP When it came to the Covid vaccine, the U.S.Government sure missed an opportunity to corral black people into the fold. As it is, a sizable number of black anti-vaxxers have become strange bedfellows with defiant Retrumpican magahats. These 2 factions of the conspiracy theory community are now united by a common foe: the ubiquitous "they", the deep state government they believe is currently intent on controlling the population and making it dependent on the output of Big Pharma. What could the Administration have done differently to convert these pesky black vaccine resistors devoted to YouTube videos contaminated with half truths about the vaccine? All "Big Bruh" had to do was announce that the vaccine would only be available to white people because their numbers were dwindling due to abortions cutting their birth rate. BOOM! Once this "whites only" decree was issued, black America would have exploded faster than a gender reveal rocket! Blue skies would've turned gray. Everywhere, all over the country black mobs would've taken to the streets; protestors protesting, demonstrators demonstrating, looters looting, black lives mattering! Voices yelling "We Want The Shot!" would've filled the air as sign-carriers dodged bullets from drive-by shooters. "Down With Racism" chants would've added to the clamor. Calls to impeach Biden would've been resounding throughout the halls of Congress! Chaos would've run amok! Then, to restore order, the Government could've rescinded the restriction. Fresh from their victory over racism, Blacks would've then begun lining up to get the needle. All would've ended up well. - except for a few of those poked who ended up sick. Later, in a secret location, ensconced in their luxurious hideaway where they're serviced by 14-year-old nymphets, the Cabal of evil men running the show would be giving each other high-5s, puffing on expensive Cuban cigars, sipping 12-year-old Scotch, congratulating themselves on the success of their plot - to save the country from itself! Fast forward to what is really happening as Blacks remain divided about getting the shot. Most of their leaders are endorsing the vaccine. But die-hard anti-vaxxers die-hard. Me, I'm trusting my gut, rejecting the pseudo science and the variations of the conspiracy theories I've been hearing for the past 70 years. At My age, I figure i have nothing to lose. If times get too tough, I'll just die. Actually. it's not like it really matters. If the pandemic doesn't do us in, the insidious political toxicity gripping the land will bring America to its knees. Do 5 year-olds read comic books? Don't expect a lot of disapproval from comic book fanatics. My youngest son, who will probably give the Superman hook-up a thumbs-down, attends comic book conventions all over the country and from what he says, the fans and patrons who show up at these venues are a pretty bizarre bunch, many of them are dressed up as their favorite super heroes and heroines. The stars who play the characters in the movies also show up to sign autographs and pictures, and are paid a pretty penny to do so. Gamers and comic book fans tend to be a little on the weird side. My son publishes a line of comic books with religious themes. He thinks I'm weird because i am not religious.

I read the book written about Henrietta Lacks by a white female author who did pretty well from the royalties. I think she did set up some kind of foundation in Henrietta's name. Oprah, of course, made a TV movie based on this book. Wonder who was paid for the rights to it? The story of Henrietta and her family was a rather sad one. Her survivors seemed to be a very erratic family group. In regard to the hospital labs using her cells without the family's permission, this was a routine procedure. It was like using the afterbirth of miscarried and aborted fetuses, harvesting these cells to save the lives of living babies. I think the latter is still done today. it figures that Ben Crump would be the current face of the civil rights legal team, inasmuch as a petty criminal, counterfeit-bill passing, ex-drug addict named George Floyd has become the martyr of the BLM movement ...says the person who has divorced her race. @Troyhow about knocking down that Go Daddy firewall so those of us being blocked by it will be able to start new posts?
