@TroyMost people know right from wrong. They just live by their own code. In all of these true crime stories that I watch it's not unusual for a suspect being grilled by police to finally confess to committing murder or withholding the evidence because their conscience bothered them, or to deny committing a homicide explaining that dealing drugs, yes; killing people, no; or shooting down a parent and leaving a child alive. One case that stuck with me had to do with how a guy arrested for several murders, also confessed to another one that someone else had been convicted of. In doing so, the guy mentioned that the falsely accused man was, like him, a former Marine, and this brotherhood was what made him absolve the other guy of guilt. Semper Fi

America's indebtedness to China is comparable to ongoing "wages" paid it for what it produces for America, so why would China disable the source of this income, and why would America antagonize its most reliable "employee", all of which could lead to a disastrous war. Interesting side line: the General who was Trumps chief of staff said that he and his Chinese counterpart were in contact during the final days of Trump's presidency, assuring each other that in the loose cannon defeated president tried to initiate a coup which could lead to hostilities between the 2 countries, they would both hold the line. Nobody wants a war. America just has to endure hardships like it has always done since its inception. This is not Utopia.

Middle class values are there for anyone to adopt in the process of doing what it takes to get ahead. These values don't cost anything but good character. They're a state of mind! Do you ever think in the abstract? And you consider yourself a critical thinker. You could benefit from a class in Sociology.

I totally agree with Troy and ProfD. I can't quote the source but i heard somewhere recently that China's economy is in trouble, and their bulging population of approximately 1.4 billion is exacerbating the situation. Like ProfD says the last thing China wants to do is upset the delicate balance of its mutually beneficial relationship with the United States, and it has no desire to annihilate or control the American consumers who are their best customers. They have better things to research. Just a simple perspective to consider when portraying China as the villain in the plot of the sci-fi movie mentality that permeates the imaginations of conspiracy theorists. @Troy People from my status and generation were the forerunners of who later became known as "bougies" a group who now occupy a large segment of the black population as second and third generations of the fledgling black bourgeoise. I was never an oreo. All i wanted was to belong to the "in crowd" of cool blacks. The under pining of middle class values are all about respectability and propriety. Anybody can have middle class values if they strive to be upstanding and ethical and hardworking. Nowadays people just give the facade of being this way, while doing and acting anyway they want to in private. Also the town that i grew up in had ghetto acting people. i was not naive to the waywardness of the poverty stricken underclass.

@Pioneer1Where are you getting the figures that half of homeless people have met this criteria? Since what I said was "true", it explains why fewer people end up in poverty. A lot of people don't end up on the street because they know how to "game the welfare system" where they can get away with being slackers. The welfare system provides gainful employment for many people. so in this area the poor and the middle class have a symbiotic relationship.
