@Pioneer1According to your biggest fan, Mzuri, you're not supposed to announce your exit if you decide to leave, something she angrily called to my attention when i didn't adhere to her expectations. Did you check with her? Fall back and regroup.

Will firing the coach improve the defense squad?

It is not easy to accept that you may not have the capacity to know when you are wrong. "He who knows not, and knows not that he knows not, is a fool."

@Del My clock just displays hours and minutes; no seconds so I will try the November 4 choice since no seconds are shown and it's about "other worldliness", a subject I am interested in because i shift into other worlds on a regular basis. So if on the designated date and time, i think about the times I have shifted into another world I will - what???? How can i apply this ritual to making the BEARs a better team?

In social situations, I don't have a problem with a one-sided conversation wherein I am being a good listener because what the other person is saying is interesting and informative.
-
There is nothing more engaging than listening to an articulate person who knows what he or she is talking about. The problem arises when an authority on a subject assumes you know as much as they do, and they proceed on that assumption leaving the listener unenlightened That's why brilliant people often make bad teachers.

Yes, it is coming together more.

@DelRegarding your current deconstruction of time, to me and some others, it seems as if time, or what I perceive as time, has sped up. Tempus fugit! It's like we just celebrated the advent of 2021 and in a blink of the eye, the year is almost over! This perception trickles down into other representations of time in my life. I identify a day as being Monday, and then before i get oriented, it's the week-end! Just recently, I lost a whole day! When I was getting my recyclables together to put out on what I thought was Thursday, my daughter informed that it was Friday. My advancing age probably has something to do with this and the fact that I have no schedule to keep. I am inundated with free time. Trying to encapsulate this thing called time into a calendar is, for me, an exercise in futility and I am at a place now where day and night are all I observe. In between them, I am in limbo. I live around the clock, sleeping off and on. Yet, never before have I so appreciated the concept of time not existing. Accepting this is liberating. Instead of my time running out, i'll just make a transistion. For the last 5 or so orbits around the sun, i have made it a point to be appreciative of the seasonal changes, telling myself each one may be the last I enjoy on this earth as I soak up the warm weather, or watch snow fall - and the next thing I know, Wheee! I'm in the midst of another summer or winter! When i was young, it seemed like it took forever for my expectations to become a reality. Now I have to catch up with what I was expecting because it is already upon me. So, I have just surrendered to an existence where one day merges into another. My clock is just a set of numbers especially this time of year when, for instance, it displays 5:00. If drowsy, I have to orient myself as to whether it's 5 o'clock in the evening or 5 o'clock in the morning. My TV is always on, - a connection to the world, and whatever program it's showing will help to determine what hour it is. Posting on this site can often be perceived as a waste of time - if time existed. Late at night if I shift into another zone, I actually feel as if I am levitating, defying gravity. If my room is dark, I often have a sensation of transporting. It's like I become a personification of E=mc². I feel special to be able to observe all of this which, in the context of quantum physics, makes it exist. Me and my spiritual alter ego are appreciating the wonderment of it all. Well, Del, I have a hard time processing your dissertations on time markers and symbols but it's starting to make more sense as I high-jack your excursion into the mystery of time. So, give me a good date to dissipate the muck the seeps into some of my cyberspace sphere of activity. BTW, now that the weather has turned chilly, I won't be going out sky gazing as much. But I will, at your recommendation, just try to hear Jupiter in between my heart beats. Oh wow! It's that time of the year! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

OK Gotcha. Yes, i agree with what you say. And, as usual, i am pessimistic. I don't think this will be reversed. The up coming generations will make the world over in their own image and - go from there...
-
@MzuriMy observations weren't too tired to keep you from coming up with tired denials. As for informing me that you like "D", didn't your mother ever tell you not to talk with your mouth full? Swallow and STFU. ZZZZZ
-
@Mzuri "Me thinks the lady(!) doeth protest too much." What would you have done if I hadn't provided you with an excuse to vent and expose yourself as being all the things you accuse me of. Throw her a few crumbs, Troy. But wait - there's more. I provided you with a chance to be fingered along with having your funky yellow ass kissed. And as an added bonus, gave you a chance to hone your sarcasm in a posted attempt at propriety as phony as you. What an ingrate! it's obvious you are stir crazy from being holed up in a shack polluted with the fishy toxic fumes you exude. Meoooooow I smell a rat.

I say but i do not proclaim, to the blare of trumpets, that there are 3 positive things one can do to give one a better start in becoming upwardly mobile. That's all I am saying, and i stick by it. All the extenuating circumstance you guys dredge up are valid, but they do not invalidate a formula which has worked for many people. And I still say, that just because black people of a certain class may be more expedient than moral, they do know right from wrong. Their impulsiveness may determine their actions but upon reflection they know what gets them in trouble Pioneer threw shade on the younger generation by making fun of their forms and methods of expression, and I reminded him that he is not perfect, himself. Young people would find him obsolete. As a member of a dying generation. i would agree that Society has dumbed things down. Kids nowadays do tend to be one-dimensional, not having a broad scope of knowledge and thinking that anything which happened before they were born is unimportant. They are adept at computer skill sets, but lacking in practical applications. Having said that, one thing I have observed from frequentlng FaceBook is that the average black adult does not have a great command of the English language; and Ebonics and careless speech are firmly entrenched in their self expression. Just an observation. But they are also sympathetic and forgiving and endowed with insight and mother wit. Times are changing and people are evolving. That's to be expected. The LGBQ community is not going to disappear. IMO

@Pioneer:.You are who needs to acquire some credentials of your own. The only thing you excel in is the ridiculous arrogance you display in thinking the world is interested or impressed with your half cocked theories and categorizations about everything under the sun, when the only thing you come close to being is mediocre.

I considered myself doing everybody else a favor by putting an end to an insult fest that had gone on too long and . I was done - for the night. I didn't give a farewell speech because I wasn't about to leave and make everybody happy. Instead, I offered MY explanation of there being more interesting subjects to discuss and thought that would be appreciated, not misinterpreted. Sorry to disappoint anybody who thought I might be somewhere pouting, or sulking. I'm getting ready to respond to some of the posts directed at me. Be advised there will be no apologies given or accepted. WOW! Talk about a hissy fit - from somebody who accuses me of having a thing for pioneer, you sound like somebody who is using pioneer to make Troy jealous. How ya like me casting you in a scenario that you will surely claim is false . Pay back is a bitch. Maybe the guys will be lining up to kiss your yellow ass. but I'll stick to my practice of giving you the finger. and I'm accepting offers from any of them who want to do the job for me.
-
There's too many more interesting thIngs to discuss than Mzuri and Pioneer. So I'm done. You're Welcome, CYNIQUE
-
You aren't. the rabbit hole you live in is very tangible.
-
@Pioneer: I need another favor - and so does Mzuri. Give her the finger again 1,2,3, GO!
-
@Pioneer1Sounds like your semi-literate, incorrect grammar and spelling, "ect" instead of "etc" self. Your disagreement is a form of validation because you're full of specious arguments. A word which you probably don't know the meaning of.
-
@Troy Very good . Mioneer and Pzuri have had their asses handed to them but they're too full of BS to comprehend,
-
That's not my argument. That's yours and one Troy has already put forth. I never said anything about people being obligated to go this way. It's a simple formula that has worked for many people. Nor is there a "large percentage" of the population who do not have the ability to graduate from high school. In fact, the graduation rate is up for black kids. And getting a GED counts for something, too. not to mention that today's kids are all computer literate because they have phones and games and the internet and high schools nowadays are geared toward computerization. incidentally i did not lead a sheltered life.
-
@Mzuri. What a cop-out; hardly worth the wait. Not even a good try at reverse psychology since it's not like I don't mention my advanced age every chance i get, using it as an excuse to get away with things. Really wish you'd had the guts to identify my toadie so whomever it was could check himself in order to not be thought of in that way. Fortunately, I didn't have to go through any trouble to emulate what you and Pioneer are so good at doing: making fun of people. Here's a priceless selfie of you stirring him up a potent potion to ward off that bad ol covid virus. See ya around. Meow.
-
Is that best you can do? I'm disappointed in your lame responses. Who is my toadie. You're too devious to name him so he can defend himself. Whoever you have in mind is certainly not anybody I have take up for; unlike you do for pioneer as seen below
-
You can dish it out but you can't take it. You can't even come up with original insults; you just transpose mine. Where is your side-kicked, anyhow? Standing in line down at the Unemployment Office. Why don't you start a Go Fund Me page for the poor ol guy - or give him a job as a delivery boy for you.
