Blacks commit 60% of ALL violent crime — but only 14% of the population
Textbook strawman used by those without coherent or legitimate argument. Do you know anything about J. Edgar Hoover, or Cointelpro? The news is biased as well. When someone points out that "black crimes are reported/investigated/prosecuted more?" why reject this fact. I believe you do it because the complexity of having to consider these things makes it harder for you sustain your position. There have been a great many books written on this subject -- especially in recent years. You should read more some. @JakeFromNY what part of New York are you from?

- Would You, Could You Use AI to Ghostwrite your Next Nonfiction Book?
Right now, a human ghost writer would be better. But this may not be true for very long... Shoot it may not be true today, but we don't have access to the versions with that capability. I have ChapGPT generate the first draft of author bios now. Welcome to the forums @Monica- Black History
That is a boatload of information @zeke1234 welcome to the forums. @ProfD I just finished reading a chapter on the book Disintegration: The Splintering of Black America in which the author defines four Black American groups. In it he describes how the "mainstream middle-class" bristled at the way the dancers at an HBCU football game dressed provocatively and booty shaking on the football field. I did not see the show, but it has been my observation the much of what was restricted to the strip club has made it into mainstream Black culture -- the way women dress, the lyrics in our music, and the way we dance is all heavily influenced by the strip club... seriously. I saw Jodeci and Charlie Wilson perform a year ago and these groups appeal to middle-aged folks and older. Young adults are into the strip club style performers. Hey did you know groups of women and couples now go to strip clubs nowadays? At least that is what I hear 😉- Law School Renamed after Atty. Ben Crump
I walked past Crump during an event in Tulsa he is a snappy dresser, commensurate of a man of his wealth and prestige. @Pioneer1 that ain't no ascot, in is just a scarf. His garb is on brand and contemporary 🙂 That's right @ProfD the books on the site should be a tremendous resource. Crump's book Open Season: Legalized Genocide of Colored People discusses his high-profile cases. Welcome to the forum's @LisaJohnson- Reddit and the future of the internet, with a thought to aalbc
AALBC's address is: African American Literature Book Club 15310 Amberly Dr Suite 250 Tampa, FL 33647 Financial assistance it greatly appreciated. As @richardmurray suggested AALBC has never had the luxury of operating at a deficit. I worked for a Wall Street firm called Bankers Trust there was analyst at the time Anthony Noto, I believe, who covered Amazon. Amazon was losing billions but this guy always recommended them. I figured it was just collusion between the analysts and the investment bankers. What I missed was the Noto knew Amazon was an emerging monopoly. I would be wealthy today if I held onto my Amazon stock... I simply could not Invision what Amazon would become. The would narrative that they were selling books out of a garage and grew from there was all BS obscuring the real plan. In the last few years, a lot more funding has opened up for Black-owned startups. So things have gotten better in a way but not nearly as it has been for the Jeff Bezoses of the world. The web is incredibly difficult to navigate if you are mission driven and want to make money. The web is optimized for "World Star" rather than "Emerge." I get over with your support, energy, hard work, luck, and little intelligence recently augmented by AI. AI is THE biggest threat right now. AI which can make websites, as we know them, obsolete. AI is the biggest thing I've seen on the web since it was opened to the public, and I've been on the web before it was available to the public. In the hands of greedy suits AI can become far more harmful than what we have seen from social media. I'm fairly certain this well happen, because this is what always happens. But after 27+ years of building website I know change and greed is part of the territory. Thanks for thinking about AALBC 🙂- Cornell WEst, the People's Party and The problem with Third parties in the usa
Were it not for the fact that West aggressively campaigned for Obama I might agree with you somewhat @Stefan. "Kneecapping: the president is not something that West was capable of doing. What West did was bring attention to what Obama did not do and held him accountable. West is sophisticated enough to understand Obama's limitations. I do not think his critique was unfair. I doubt West would have gotten aboard the Obama train without some indication from Obama on what he would do as president. Again, the most telling thing to me is the unwillingness of Obama to give Black newsletters interviews. George Curry complained about this: There is a disrespect for the black press that we have not seen in recent years. For example, we have requested — every year — an interview with the president. He can ignore 200 black newspapers and 19 million viewers but he can give one to every stupid white comedian there is on TV, the black ones and the white ones, and has time for all types of buffoonery but they will not respect the black press enough to give us an interview. You guys might be right about West's chances at being elected. But I don't think it is impossible, but it is indeed a long shot. I attended an Obama rally at Harlem's Apollo Theater (don't ask me why my camera decided not to focus that day).- How can you tell yof something is true?
Fascinating. I was unaware of the double slit experiment being done with anything other that photons or electrons the experiment https://www.researchgate.net/publication/221975884_Real-time_single-molecule_imaging_of_quantum_interference is indeed pushing the boundaries between quantum and classical physics. You learn something new every day 🙂 When they replicate the experiment with BBs, marbles, or anything that can be seen with the naked eye, my head will explode. oh that is not a problem because there are many differences between the macro and quantum worlds that have not been reconciled. That goes back to @Delano’s question; how do you know something is true? This is essentially the same question as what is reality? Our senses are not sophisticated enough to observe, or even understand, reality therefore we can’t know what is true. Maybe when Chat GPT is 200 times as intelligent as Imhotep, it can explain realistic to us 😉- How can you tell yof something is true?
The double slit experiment looks at photons not atoms. Yes, but this is where people get into trouble making these leaps. this is not what the double slit experiment shows. The cats don't exist in wave form when not observed. They would not form an interference pattern if we shot them through slits 😉- Cornell WEst, the People's Party and The problem with Third parties in the usa
I would vote for West. Hopefully they can get on the ballot across the country.- Raleigh Mom Opening N.C.'s First Black-Owned Children's Bookstore
- Polar Constellations Astronomy/Astrology Kemit
Dr. Finch (the Brother in the video), if I understood him correctly, indicated that the energy emanating from the center of our galaxy (where a massive Black hole is) based upon our relative positions to the constellations is why we are affected differently when we are in different signs of the zodiac. I never heard it explained that way before. Side bar: Wait for it... Pioneer will comment on the relative attractiveness of the sista in the video.- Polar Constellations Astronomy/Astrology Kemit
Hey @Delano have you heard (forward to the 9:30 mark) There are two great years one around the zodiac (12) around the equator and one polar great year (7 years). Have you heard of or worked with these polar constellations?- Religion versus Spirituality
My bad, like I would know what is on the Orpah show -- I should have known better LOL! > .- How can you tell yof something is true?
I don't think it is an inability to think conceptually ... well there are degrees to this and @Pioneer1 has demonstrated some level of this ability. There are two issues here; (1) he is very rigid in his thinking; and (2) he will freely formulate opinions on subjects he admittedly does not know much about where a bit more reading on the subject would help modify or even completely change a previously held. This does not make Pioneer bad or unusual -- indeed if makes him an interesting participant. Just don't ever expect him to change his position on any subject. I believe he perceives changing one's position as a weakness. 😉 As you probably know, this only applies at the quantum level and not at the level we can observe in the "real" world. Though this has not stopped new-agey-spirtualists from suggesting that it does. I think the biggest take-away from this conversation is that: Our observations do not make something “true.” The image below is pretty popular, but I'll share it to make a point. If we look at the square labelled "A" and "B" we would say they are very different shades of gray-- not even close. The "truth" is they are exactly the same color. The frst time I saw this I did not believe it to be true; I had to print it out and put the squares next to each other to be convinced. Every human sense can be tricked in this way. People say believe half of what you see Son and none of what you hear But I can’t help but be confused If it’s true please tell me dear This is why I'm cautious when dealing with social media as the pin heads behind their algorithms understand this better than anyone. People are convinced they are immune to the control of social media algorithms. If no one ever said the A and B squares were actually the same color, we would have had no incentive to check and would have happy continues with our distorted view of reality. Here is an video that does a good job of explaining the "cat" thought experiment.- Most Black Leaders didn't advocate for reparations even though most Black people wanted and that made the usa, but it came with a negative price for Black people
Founded in 1987: https://ncobra.org/aboutus/index.html https://www.officialncobraonline.org/home-page- Welcome to the forums Mr Hayes!
I usually wait for a new poster to comment before welcoming them to the forums, but @aMhayes1946 appears to be using a real photo and a version of his government name which only a few of us regular posters do. Welcome to the forums Mr. Hayes (I hope i did not misgender you 😉 ). Looking forward to reading your thoughts.- Most Black Leaders didn't advocate for reparations even though most Black people wanted and that made the usa, but it came with a negative price for Black people
The are plenty of people advocating for reparations. I have identified a few books on Reparations recently that speak to this advocacy. Never say "Never," I was once paradoxically told, and I would never use it in the case of American not paying what they owe. You never know.- African-American Philosophers: 17 Conversations

I purchased $500 in Bitcoin and $500 in Ethereum back in 2021 I believe (after the peak). I knew full well going in that I could lose all of my money, but again it was a learning exercise, as I was also interested in NFTs. I'm ALWAYS wary of schemes where people say you can get rich by doing literally nothing, or maybe buying a jpeg. I'm even more skeptical of people who charge you a great deal of money to tell you how, if you do what they did, you get rich too. Most people would simply continue doing the thing that got them rich rather than taking the time to show you how. The only time that happens is when the thing they are showing you is no longer working for them -- assuming it ever did. I hold my own crypto, so losing it in an exchange is not possible -- thought I could lose my keys. At any rate I should find out the value of my coin, maybe I will cash out. I can’t really afford to have a few hundred bucks doing nothing...- Earth's environment is bad - I mean really bad
@ProfD, that fact makes the fact that dinosaurs survived for so long amazing! @Stefan, the original study is not too difficult to understand or at Least get the gist https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-023-06083-8 No need to write off to remain capable of supporting human life just yet. We need to understand that "...stability and resilience of the Earth system and human well-being are inseparably linked..." (Emphasis mine)- Jordan Neely Executed on a NYC Subway
That is the reason AALBC.com, and any other platform elevating Black people has to exist. But we also have to acknowledge, that things have improved -- greatly. Neely would not only have been executed with total impunity his mere presence on the train would have been sufficient justification. @ProfD, obviously Barry was revered, he was a man of the people. Considering the was setup tells you he was a threat to those do not want to see a leader rise amongst Black people. This is how I knew Obama was the safest President to hold the office.- 200+ Book Festivals and Fairs
