I would like to announce the release of my debut collection of short stories - Ethereal Voices. I also recently won an award for a story The Sea Witch - not included int this book. Please see the web site.http://www.thecaribbeanwriter.org/news/the-caribbean-writer-announces-its-volume-29-prize-winners/ I would appreciate any comments of suggestion in terms of how to encourage more readers and advertise my book. How do I become listed as an author with aalbc? PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION ETHEREAL VOICES A Beautiful New Book of Prose & Poetry Captures Boundless Core of Caribbean Culture Ethereal Voices offers a scintillating and thought-provoking selection of short stories and poems with an eclectic, trans-Atlantic, Caribbean flavor. This debut book by Shona Jabang is a fascinating account of what life was like for a child growing up in Jamaica and entering womanhood. The author's gift at writing transports the reader to the flavours, smells, cultures, social mores and climate of that country. She also skilfully represents the poignancy and charisma of the indigenous people who are constantly searching for their true identities. “These tales depict a specific type of beauty, a type of beauty you can’t find in many places on earth,” says Jabang. “My goal is to capture it and allow readers to immerse themselves in a varied and in-depth impression of what it means to be from the Caribbean. I impart this through an eclectic mix of vivid imagery, rhythmic tones, and symphonies of poignant moods. I’m certainly not the first person to try and capture the Caribbean on paper, but I believe I’m doing it in a way never before attempted.” Jabang is a Jamaican-American, a graduate of the Master in Creative Writing Program at National University, San Diego, California. She has a Master’s degree in Literacy and Learning – from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland. She is currently a high school language arts teacher with the Department of Defense, assigned to the United Kingdom, and a Writing 101 teacher with the University of Maryland University College Overseas Europe. Jabang further states: “My poems and stories don’t just focus on Jamaica. There’s also a gripping addition which embroils readers in a humorous and ultimately tragic story set in The Gambia. It’s an extremely varied adventure, and will appeal to anyone with a thirst for discovering new cultures, or hearing about the unique struggles of different women around the world.” Ethereal Voices is now available on Amazon and www.lulu.com -Ends- Contact: AudioArcadia.com Email: info@audioarcadia.com Mobile: (+44) 07432 369298 Sincrerely, Shona Jabang
  2. I didn't know about this one. It will probably be another year before information comes on this shooting. I was referring to #BlackLivesMatter marching on Magnificent Mile before Christmas.
  3. Here's something you don't hear a lot of about. While I was working on a piece about the absurdity of life, I found out middle aged white males have the highest suicide rate of all groups here in the U.S. In fact out of the more than 42,000 suicides in 2013, 7 out of 10 were committed by white males. Next highest were American Indians/Alaska Natives who ranked up there at 11.7% out of every 100,000. Guess who is near last on this list with the fewest suicides per 100,000? You guessed it, at 5.4% per 100,000 suicides for African-Americans. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage is less for African-American women. The report indicates women overall make more suicide attempts but rarely succeed. Sadly, however suicides are increasing among African-American children according to SAMHSA 's statistics from JAMA Pediatrics. I have no clue, and none was offered as to why so many white men here in the U.S. end their own life. I don't take the findings lightly either. I was curious. Initially, when I went looking for the statistics I thought African-Americans would have the highest suicide rate since many of us report experiencing high rates of stress. The CDC statistics, however, doesn't support my theory. If I had to guess why the rate was so high for white males here in America; My guess would be influenced by Edward Bruce Bynum, Ph.D. (Dark Light Consciousness: Melanin, Serpent Power, and the Luminous Matrix of Reality). He says the deepest level of the mind in modern humans is an African structure or an African Template. Dr. Bynum suggest in his lecture "African Genesis" "Most nations, most cultures fear the darkness and part of that fear is of one's own origin - 'The Threatened return of the repressed'." African-Americans already know where they come from. Maybe they don't have the location of the village but they have a clue they come from the African continent. Maybe it's hard for other cultures to reconcile they also originate from the Motherland. And that could be their undoing. I don't know of course but I'm fascinated by the theory. Self-Destruction comes in many forms.
  4. In a recent interview, Cicely Tyson responded to a question about her relationship with Miles Davis, by saying she wouldn't change one thing about their time together and for people to not believe everything they read. Of course she made these remarks on the occasion of her 90th birthday so maybe she just forgot, or maybe she was a masochist. The thing that always impressed me most about Miles was that, allegedly, in the throes of his heroin addiction, he retreated to his childhood home in Alton, Illinois, locked himself away in his bedroom, and kicked the habit cold turkey. I was also amused when Miles said in an interview during the period he was accused of being a sell-out for immersing himself in the 1980 music scene, making videos, wearing a jeri curl and playing his version of current hits. In his inimitable manner he scowled and shook his head, drawling about how when he listened to his old albums, he found them boring and their appeal was lost on him. (Maybe he was back on drugs) ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
  5. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Dr. Edward Bruce Bynum so I'll write this as if I'm writing for anyone who doesn't know of him. Dr. Bynum is clinical psychologist at the University of Massachusetts. He says we, as a species, engage in a battle with our "primitive impulses". Psychologists/psychiatrists call this battle the threatened "return of the repressed". I've dismissed this term simply because I thought they were referring to ape-like behavior. It wasn't until the other day, I heard Dr. Bynum (for the first time) make the reference and spell it out in his two-hour lecture "African Genesis" . He explains a lot of the subject matter from his book "African Unconscious" . In short, Dr. Bynum says white culture has a difficult time reconciling African civilization was the first civilization to discover everything from writing to spirituality. He says it was so difficult for Europeans to attribute the discovery of mathematics, astronomy, writing, measurement et al; they, through academics, began to identify the first civilization as white people from Egypt or they attributed the discoveries to Greeks and Romans. Of course today we know that would be biologically impossible for white skin to exist in Africa but the idea still persist. He also clarifies Egypt was occupied by Africans from the west who had migrated there due to a change in landscape in the sub-Saharan region. I learned about this migration through the National Geographic Genographic project - which clearly outlines the journey out of Africa ... Anyway, here's an excerpt from his book "African Unconscious" "Recall that prior to 25,000 to 30,000 years ago all Homo Sapiens were Black and that racial diversification as we think of it today, had not yet begun. The present day implication of this, of course, is that beneath the wealth of contents in our shared or multicultural unconscious the primordial essence and genetic roots of our African dynamism dwells. (Carl Gustav) Jung felt this deeper racial memory as his bedrock memory and it unfolded within him a great peace and sense of unity between all peoples of this planet. Many people have had similar experiences and insights. This repression of the primordial African Unconscious is an act of represssion not only in Europe but also Eurocentric science. It might be thought of as the collective "threatened return of the repressed."
  6. I'm sure it will all workout on the video tip. You can always use Spreecast and they have it set up so that you can live stream and then add a pay button that people can donate. It's the platform that Paul Brunson uses for his Mentor Monday web show. I actually donated to his Spreecast a while back just to see how it worked and it accepted the payment and sent a receipt of payment pretty quickly. It's not a bad set up. I still don't have enough viewers and I know now that I have to create more content to get that following. That's what we are all missing is that extra push to get the things done that we need. This board is an incredible springboard though. It's the exact type of community that can help us all.
  7. Question 1 -What I need to understand is why the attachment to Kemet and not Yoruba, Ibo, Ibibio, Ghana, Ivory Coast? Brother, I agree with we should include, however it is easier if we say Kemet because Kemet is a product of the work started in these countries. Kemet became a permanent destination because of the River. They were moving away from the desert and environmental changes. Question 2 " If I could earn based on Kemetic principles then I would focus more on it" Societies needs psychologists, writers, accountants, ( Mathematics) Architects, Doctors, teachers. If you look at the Jewish people you will find that they dominate these fields. They run the entire American and European banking industry. A Jewish child is asked to learn and memorise the Torah at an early age . Please pay attention the name Torah =To+Ra Thoth the god of Wisdom who invented writing+ Ra is the supreme God and father of Osirius . If you study Kemeti language you will become a sublime thinker and author. Harry Potter is the most successful book in history of fiction and literature. Where does the story of Harry Potter comes from? Heru. Where does the story of Neo, Matrix comes from Heru. Where does the story of Star wars comes from? Heru. Who invented medicine? Imhotep. who invented architecture Imhotep. Who invented writing and poetry? Black people. Who runs the media industry, newspapers etc? Jewish people. What do they study at home and at Jewish churches and schools? Ancient Kemetic culture. Jewish people study. They invest time studying ancient culture that's why they have no time for Christmas or rap music or to watch the next episode of a show that portrays black people as drug dealers =Empire, The empire is a great show for ignorant people who don't understand psychology or know themselves otherwise they would not tolerate a show that insults their people. I will show how you can make a living using Kemetic principles. 1 Study Kemetic literature =History and psychology and Mathematics =higher Consciousness 2 Create a blog and write about a specific subject -Example motivation for people of black origin 3 Turn the blog into a book 4 Create a youtube account and create videos about the same subject, short videos 5 Deliver motivational seminars on your subject, motivation -Your vocabulary will very rich indeed. You will become a master psychologist 6 Produce educational DVD, Books, seminars for people, sell them =money, Finance. Transform you book into documentaries and films 7 Keep studying, keep doing, evaluate your progress and train people to help you to make your philosophy global Please pay attention to the number 7. You have 7 days of the week, 7 wonders of the world, they say that Jesus came back to life after 7 days. The European god created the world in 7 days. The number 7 is a perfect number. You won't fail if you follow apply the principles. Where does the number 7 comes from? Kemet. Brother Kemet is the source of your freedom. Mental and financial freedom. Jewish people are very wealthy because they study Kemetic culture. The name Israel =Is+ra+El that's Isis mother of Heru+ Ra+ El. IsisRaEl. They study an ancient African culture. Freemasons do exactly the same. Look at the triangle in the middle of the dollar. It contains an eye, that's the eye of Ra, the eye of consciousness. Where does Ra comes from? I replied to your questions. AmenHotep
  8. Dear Cyniquian Europeans claim that Kemetic people were white people. They understand the value and power of culture. Civilisation started in South Africa. More than 500.000 years ago Africans emigrated to several countries and continents. Sudan (Kush) was one of the first places where they settled and created sciences such as mathematics, psychology and writing. I don't see people of African origin as , Americans, Nigerians or Sudan or South Africa or Gambia, I see them as Africans. Nationalities were created by Europeans during the 15/16th century as means to define colonies and slaves. 95% of what the world uses today,is connected to Kemet. Kemet is an African culture and if you don't know your culture you will become a victim and a slave of people who know it and will tell you that it's their culture.( Christmas ) That's exactly what's happening with Black people. They live in an European world and eat, think, talk and many even dress like Europeans. They even celebrate European holidays. Christmas is economics. Where does the money generated during Christmas goes to? Jewish, European and Arab businesses. Who are the biggest consumers in the USA? Black people. They are making others rich by consuming something that's not related or connected to them. That's pure ignorance. The problem is you can't succeed using someone's else culture. There was physical slavery, today there is physical, mental and financial slavery. The only way you can free yourself and your people from modern slavery, material and intellectual poverty is by studying your culture and the history of your ancestors= Kemet.
  9. Brother, You won't go very far without Kemet, Please look at the dollar bill and you will see how Kemetic sciences and consciousness affects your life. The money that you use today is controlled by people who follow and study kemetic principles. There is a reason why Jewish people and Arabs don't celebrate Christmas. They value their culture, cherish and do all they can to preserve it. These "Hoteps" who came from Sudan are the most ancient and richest culture in history. The medicine, architecture, the language, the mathematics, the computers, the literature that you you use comes from Kemet. Culture is the most powerful source of confidence and if you aren't interested in protecting and teaching your people about their culture, if you aren't prepared to stand up for your culture then you are doomed to remain a consumer and servant of people who will force you to consume their culture through their music, religion, education and public holidays.
