  1. Toni Morrison lived to be 88. She had a tremendously successful and, I trust happy, life. Today I received a lot of email from friends informing me of Morrison's passing describing it as "sad" and even "horrible." I understand the permanent loss of anyone, especially someone so talented, is sad, but Morrison's transition is the culmination of a life well lived, a life worth celebrating. We all should be so blessed. R.I.P. Toni Morrison
  2. Let the church say "AMEN" and celebrate life!
  3. Hello Piooneer1, Thanks for welcoming me. Unfortunately i don't practice the IFA belief system. IFA system is very much Yoruba. Yorubaland was impacted by colonialism. I grew up with Christianity. I am currently researching and reading on role missionaries played in colonization of Africa and I wonder, is christianity and colonialism inseparable? Is it a case of; "Take their language and take their gods and you have taken their future". I am beginning to read about Yoruba deities and mythology and it is fascinating!
  4. Mel Hopkins it is called the Yoruba language, it has several dialects but there is a universally accepted form. It is currently spoken by approximately 80 million individuals in the world with 56 million native speakers.
  5. @Maurice no apologies needed! I laughed because reading it - really highlights the absurdity of it all. Like, yes - who shoots up a “Garlic Festival?”
  6. Id say guns are pretty difficult to get hold of but does seem to be easier now compared to say a decade ago. Virtually crime related, as in gangs. Indeed. Who does ? The worlds gone mad.
