  1. I'm glad our sister is freed (from Russia atleast) and back home!
  2. Irene Cara incurred the wrath of music business and was blacklisted when she fought for her royalties. The term Nuyorican has been around for a couple decades now. But, it's hardly used outside metro New York.😎
  3. What is the United Nations Doing About HAITI? And, can anything be done to help the people, especially the children? I read that a Biden Administrator just recently resigned because he disagrees with the Biden administration's actions. Apparently, many Haitian's fled to Mexico and thereabouts after the 2010 earthquake and are now being deported back to Haiti by the Biden administration. And many of them were actually born in Mexico and have never been to Haiti, so obviously many of them being sent to Haiti are children and teen agers! Lately, I have been doing a little research about Haiti and I am honestly very surprised about what I have learned. Did anyone here know that most Haitians are from ancestors that came from Dahomey!? That sounds shocking to me, initially, but then on the other hand, it makes sense because of the extensive slave trading that went on in that region. But if this is true then, my first instincts seem to also be true in that the women warriors were actually victims and mostly enslaved themselves and became victims of the very people that forced them into this warrior women culture. I learned too, that the famous Toussaint Loverture's parents were from Allada and were enslaved by the DaHomey Slave Catchers. Also, the famous Alexander Dumas' father [or, grandfather] were captured by the Dahomey slave catchers too. DID ANYONE HERE KNOW TOO THAT AFTER THE HAITIANS REVOLTED AGAINST SLAVERY THAT MANY OF THEM IMMIGRATED TO LOUISIANA!!!??? I'm like what!? I never learned this in school!? There was NEVER a connection made about the Louisiana Purchase and the Haitian revolt!!! So then, my research revealed that the president at the time, President Andrew Jackson deliberately suppressed the Haitin victory that led to them being a free nation. American did not recognize Haiti until 1862 as being a free nation. But what surprises me is that because the Haitians fought so hard, it was them that became the DIRECT reason the French decided to sale the Lousiana country which comprised a vast area of land from Louisiana to the west and up to Canada around 1803. This kind of history is crazy fascinationg for me. But now, fast forward to now!!! After the 2010 Earthquake that hit Haiti really bad, and the Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and etc. this country has went from bad to worse. I am only beginning to research, however, I believe that this kind of information is important for African Americans to know about. Why, I wonder, is Haiti having all of this horrors? This country is in trouble. It's like worse than being clasified as 'A Third World Country' status. Here are two brief videos that I have recently watched.
  4. IRENE CARA: DID YOU KNOW THAT SHE WAS BLACK LISTED!? Oh Wow! This popular youtuber showed up on my channel, but I have never heard of her until now. I did not know that Irene Cara was also part Cuban. Her father is a Black man from Puerto Rico and her mother is cuban. Irene Cara was born in the Bronx, New York, so I just learned about a new term that I've never heard of until now regarding Puerto Rican people who whom were born in New York and thereabouts. They have been referred to as "Nuyorican". Interesting. My step-brother is from Buffalo, New York, however, I've never heard him say anything about this. I did not hear of this on this channel but there are a lot of videos now about Irene Cara and this one seems interesting. Anyway, she posted some information about Irene Cara and some other interesting tidbits. I recently heard about the Byron Allen award show and she also said it was a great event. So now, I like this youtuber and plan on listening in on her again. Her name is Patty Jackson, maybe someone has heard of her before. At any rate, I am posting this first video that I have come across. She also said that at the same time the Griot Awards show aired, the Soul Train awards show also aired.
  5. According to the BBC, WNBA star Britney Griner has been freed in exchange for that Russian arms dealer. This is why one should NEVER count out President Joe Biden. Think that clown Trump would have done much to help free her?
  6. Well, my opinion is based on a little knowledge and again, a little observation. When I was younger, I did not watch much television, but I later became curious about how certain cartoons and historical fiction shows and also gaming characters were aligned with truth. I began to pay notice to the credits after the show and it seems to me that a lot of cartoons and such are based on a lot of research from learned historians. Therefore, I believe that if you want to use an Asian character for a shaolin monk, you should at least do some research on that wise. Right off the top of my thoughts, the word 'Monk' signifies a very early presence of Black African typed 'ancient Sumerians' that were present in the ancient far east and then by the time that the shaolin monk became historical, well, I don't know. But I do believe at the time of these kinds of monks, there were still a significan presence of AFrican-typed 'monks' there too! I remember a recent movie, but the title escapes me though, of a film that showed a lot of historical fiction and I was very well aware of some of the roles played by Asians were actually a depiction of Blacks. One of the common terms thrown around in that movies was the derogatory term for Blacks at that time, 'LACKEY' [i.e. Blackey]. So, again, if people don't care about historical acurracy in your depictions, then you will do great, but if people do care, then it might cause your invention to not take off very well.
  7. What is the United Nations doing about Haiti??? Why...HELPING TO DESTABLIZE IT...ofcourse! Why would we expect White racists and their allies of color to help such a strong Black nation? Based on my LIMITED research (because I haven't actually been to that nation yet), I believe the main problem with Haiti and the major reason it faces so many disasters is because of SPIRITUAL CONFUSION. When they abandoned Catholicism and returned to their Ancestors and traditional African religion back in the late 1700s, it gave them the power to not only fight for and win THEIR freedom but fight for and win the freedom of Black folks all around the Western Hemisphere including the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Columbia, etc... But some years later Haitians began accepting Catholicism and other forms of Christianity and Caucasian religions and morals to the point that many if not most Haitians are officially "Catholic"....but they still practice Vodou to various degrees. This leads to spiritual confusion. You can't serve two masters. You can't dedicate yourself to and serve the TRUE GOD and White folks god at the same time. They must pick one or the other. The Dominican Republic is doing a little better because they pick ONE SIDE....Christianity. It's the WRONG side, but they are less confused. If Haiti goes FULL AFRICAN again and reject all forms of Caucasian religion....I guarantee they will rise overnight!
  8. According to some sources, she did win some money. But the guy who apparently stonewalled her had friends and they badmouthed her. She kept singing and was thought to be trying to make a comeback. But the Covid 19 pandemic kept her fearful and she stayed by herself. She avoided dating anyone following her divorce from her stuntman husband. Again, this is according to published gossip pieces.
  9. Chevdove is right. Trump would have done nothing to free Britney and I don't believe he would have done much to get Paul Whelan home either. How Republicans are reacting: The rage of Republicans over Britney's release is unbelievable
  10. @Chevdove well listen, let's be blunt, in modernity, when any film comes out with a thespian or director or producer that has been given an unsatisfactory moral label, that film has mixed reviews. No film that has a connection to Will Smith going forward , at least in the usa, will have a 100% review in positivity. Is that fair? no. Is that the reality of modern media? 100% Only two groups of people in the usa don't have a bloodline whose story doesn't begin with the usa or its predecessor with the following: I want to be here. You know the two groups are Native Americans side Black DOSers. ... I remember in NYC when people were fighting for the NAtive American musuem for an instillation or more. But I remember hearing a bunch of Black folk "allied with the native american" talking about helping the native american. And I told them the following: the native american needs one thing, and one thing only, and it is the one thing that has the least chance of happening and that is for all non native americans to get the f--- out. Varied replies from silence, to yep, to frustration, to explaining to me why that shouldn't occur happened. What is my point? of course this film is fiction, it took zora neale hurston to catch the last enslaved black folks narrative <something the so called literate black movement post war between the states didn't want to write down or definitely didn't find time to write down> . Of course, a black man whipped him, enslavement to whites convinced the nazi's to harm their fellow germans in the jewish religion. Our enslavement was hell and we don't have many first hand accounts. But, the black DOSers have a simple need, like the native americans and it isn't going to happen. Black DOSers need a home to go to. Simple isn't it. A home to go where we can say , we wanted to be there from day one. But since it isn't going to happen, everything else is a poor bandaid. Black billionaires/mayors/ all these various things don't cover what the people need. Same to the native american. Casinoes/elected representatives. Yeah ok. That isn't what they need. So you get arts or entertainment providing a cheap bandaid.
  11. That is the dilemma for Black folks all over the planet. As long as a few people are willing to be sellouts, it's easier to oppress the masses. The system of racism white supremacy is built on it. 😎
  12. In all honesty, I don't believe Trump would have helped her at all. I am so glad that she has been freed. What a nightmare.
  13. Hey! Thanks! I just saw a report and popped in to spread the news, and see that you already did it. Honestly, her freedom happened sooner than I thought, but I am so glad this nightmare is over! More than a decade later, Mr. Bout, 55, has been freed, despite serving less than half of his 25-year prison sentence. He was exchanged on Thursday for the American basketball star Brittney Griner, who had been imprisoned in Russia for 10 months. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/who-is-viktor-bout-arms-dealer-in-swap-for-brittney-griner/ar-AA153jSN?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=8f03de2330d5470f8b3ddd9848a9ddc5
  14. https://www.npr.org/2022/12/08/1141503355/brittney-griner-freed Sista Brittney Griner has been freed and she's on her way home in time for the holidays. 😎
  15. It illustrates the comparative strength of a candidate. It’s a demonstration that Herschel was not the flawed candidate portrayed based on the response of the voters. It’s because of Walker’s association with Trump and not being a Mitch pick. There’s no use in beating a dead horse. Herschel can try again or run for another position if he is sincere.
