  1. This is one of the reasons the cycle of racism continues; Ignorant White racist who are themselves encouraged by 'the powers that be' to perpetuate lies about Black Americans not contributing to humanity, when in fact, most of those White racist devils came over to America and could not even read and write their own language. But that could not be said for Africans because the development of script and record keeping started in the earliest of Black African civilizations. Geez. As was mentioned earlier in this thread, the percentages are completely off because some of the crime committed by Whites are never prosecuted on the same level when Blacks are cited for the same incidences. Case in point: Just recently a White man was arrested for shooting at the police, but we, as Blacks know that, had that been a Black man, however, the police would have shot him several times. But then, when the reality of police brutality is looked at in a wider view, I would not be surprised if there are a lot of White people that suffer police brutality too. But because of racist White ignorant devils attacking Black people, therefore, when they do suffer police brutality, their voices may not be heared due to so much concentration on them attacking Black people! It's sort of like 'Intersectionality'. The idiots are close to the bottom of the pyramid 'for the most part' economically, and so their actions against Black people causes them to not be heard. Some of them may get better relief than Black people, but they still suffer. This is why I mentioned the White man that shot at the police. Even though he was not shot and killed on the spot, however, he was 'allegedly' treated so incredibly bad in the jail that he died after about two weeks of being incarcerated. SO WHERE IS THE LOGIC in not seeing that this American system can easily deprive White people of their human rights as well as Blacks?
  2. Ah! @Troy I can see why Prince would rank higher because this comparison can be viewed in more than one way. Prince made himself flashy so in comparison to Idris Elba, I can see why some may have chosen Prince. However, for me, Idris Elba has more sex appeal. And if he should one day choose to straighten his hair, where heavy makeup, and wear flashy, sequenced clothes like a 'rhinestone cowboy', then I would view Idris Elba as having the same amount of sex appeal as Prince. Never heard of this song or seen the video until now. I think this is nice! Lol @richardmurray you're probably right.
  3. Pred, this statement reveals how little you know about American history. This is not surprising given our educational system and the way our media work -- especially today. The really alarming thing is the push back educators are getting, mostly in the former slave states, teaching students about Black history. In some ways we are taking steps backward. Back to the video: Tell me @Pred007, what did that women do to deserved to get decked by a grown man. If you ask me, a man who would punch a woman in the face like that is the one behaving alike a nigger.
  4. I heard a female panelist break down Prince's appeal. He begs from a position of strength. Listen to the end of Beautiful Ones. A coworker told me If I was your girlfriend sounds like an orgasm. The brain is the biggest sex organ. And Prince mines this, with his inversion of perceived sex roles. So he is appealing to the that inner wild woman that wants to break the rules. Maybe he appeals to women because he gets their frequency. I don't think there is a comparison between an actor who was voted sexiest man. And the Man who is without question a musical genius. I am biased being a former fan of pre Diamond and Pearls Prince. He is in that rare category of performer that transcends their Genre: Maya Angelou; Muhammad Ali, Pele Aretha Franklin Richard Pryor Miles Davis. They are Iconic. And so dope that you have to acknowledge their greatness.

The Office only had one woman of color on that show and that was the Indian girl Mindy Kaling. She was the "stand-in Black girl". Back in the old days they used to get that ONE token Black person on a virtually all White show to fill the spot so there weren't too many complaints. Since the 80s, they've been replacing the token Black person with token Asians, Latinos, and Indians.....most of whom don't mind BEING tokens. They don't mind being used, as long as they get a chance to snuggle up next to Caucasians.
  6. Egads! Listen to you Boomers and GenXers fretting and expounding as if you have some relevancy. Puleeze. The Millennials and the GenZers got this! And they are the wave of the future. Your days are numbered. Traditional values mean nothing to these sleepyheads. They are flexible and evolved, have embraced the "do me" approach to life and are making headway as they dare to merge with their true selves. Something they do with a growing measure of authenticity because the species is mutating - expanding. Screw all that BS about the true nature of humans and what "God" intended. Time brings change, depending on the whims of, say, quantum physics and - the impact of highly advanced computerized technology, including Artificial Intelligence. And last but not least a Creator who's lost interest in your welfare. Society is also evolving, fragmenting into the diversity of tribalism. Nowadays all you have to do is find your "Peeps". immerse yourself in their echo chamber and commiserate with your fellow malcontents. Meanwhile, Civilization staggers along being what it has always been about: acquiring power and exerting the control that comes with it, pitting the great unwashed masses against themselves, leaving their legions bound together by a common mistrust of their Government. America, in particular, is a sphere of mass confusion compounded by organized chaos bristling with the wanna-be soothsayers pulling their hair and beating their chests, spouting tired old conspiracy theories that disintegrate under the scrutiny of logic and reality. Same ol, same ol. So what else is new? Check ya, later. Maybe.
  7. Men need to stay mum when it comes to the subject of masculinity which is all about mystique. Your antennae are not fine tuned enough to pick up the sparks Prince gives off. i don't find Idris Elba especially appealing. Prince has more animal magnetism; more like a sensuous tiger. Garb is just superficial. LIl NasX is, what he is. A character. Never under estimate the power of female intuition. And there's a difference between being strong and being capable. Also masochism is a psychosis that afflicts a lot of women.
  8. What makes that video so crazy is that has not the Smith/Rick incident occurred the situation in this video would have been too outrageous to be funny.

LOL. I never watched any of those shows you mentioned except perhaps one or twe episodes of The Office. Now that you mention it, yes, I do think they were made to appeal to middle class White people, but a lot of my Black Co-workers loved those shows too. I just recently saw a video about Friends, and it has gotten a lot of negative comments because it was said that they did not have any Black actors that appeared on a regular basis. I think Parks and Recreation too, was along the same lines, but Retta, simply stole the show!
  10. First thing we need to know is whether or not AfroAmerican politicians are actually interested in Black empowerment. If the politicians are only looking to enrich themselves in one way or another, nothing else matters to them especially not making Black lives better. Case in point...the current Vice POTUS has no desire to help Black folks. Securing Black votes and token spokesperson for the Democratic party are her primary objectives and responsibilities.😎
  11. I've noticed this since I was a kid. A lot of White people who are freaks and weirdos who don't get any respect and aren't wanted among their own people will often start hanging out with Black people. They'll even start adopting some of the slang and mannerisms to fit in more. It got to the point that when I started seeing a White dude come around us too often I'd ask him was he gay, schizophrenic, what's wrong with him....I knew something HAD to be. It's so sick, some of them even have communicable diseases and STD's and they love sex so much, they don't want to give it to other White people so they start hanging around Black folks who end up infected. I'd tell him to his face, "Your OWN people rejected you...now you want to hang around us huh?" But as I mentioned before, a lot of our people are so inlove with White folks that they'll overlook any weirdness or problems these "White rejects" may have and embrace them as their own.

Well Pioneer I see you are really fixed on outward appearance :-) I can't debate you on rising obesity and related health risks, cause I agree with you there. But Chasitie, never said what the girl actually looks like from a physical perspective. Who know she may actually be physically even by your standard, but may not see it. This is common with women who are overwhelmed with images of celebrities photoshopped to an unattainable level of beauty. Of course the impact is even more severe today since many young women can't put their phones down for more than 5 minutes. Of course, beauty goes beyond how someone looks. We often marginalize people who may have a lot to offer simply because they are unattractive, or Black. Since we are unique, I believe we are all beautiful in some way. It is just that our culture is so damn shallow, that we are only trained to judge "beauty" based upon some European standard, and we actually miss out on the beauty we all have.
