The HB conviction could provide POTUS PJB with a way out of running for re-election. The Democrats would have to come up with another candidate PDQ (pretty d8mn quick). I'd bet the Dems would look to Gavin Newsome, Governor of California, to be that person. Definitely not VP Kamala Harris. Too many polls to pick from but the general consensus is that many voters will be holding their noses whichever way they vote. Despite their experience, neither party nominee is the best qualified to run this country. Unfortunately, nobody else seems to want the job. Younger people are sitting back and observing this sh8tshow. With the next 10 years, better POTUS candidates will emerge. In the meantime, it's back to American politics as reality TV filled with a circus of clowns including insults, scandals, convictions, etc. There are guardrails in place to keep the country from going off track despite the foolishness. That doesn't prevent America, that beacon on the hill from currently being the laughingstock of the world because it looks like this guy: There's no shortage of Black shills and bootlicks. Rep. Byron Donalds and Sen. Tim Scott are prime examples of why we need a drop squad.

https://abcnews.go.com/538/hunter-bidens-guilty-verdict-affect-2024-election/story?id=111057941 As the trials turn, 1st son of the United States, Hunter Biden had been found guilty on all 3 counts in his federal trial for lying about his drug use on a gun permit application. Remains to be seen whether or not Hunter Biden (HB) will be sent to prison. I don't believe the son of the POTUS will serve a day in a cell. HB will get probation and community service and a fine.

Just Another Example Of Our People Off Code
ProfD replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Spilling the tea has been around forever. It's another form of entertainment. Gossiping is a non-productive exercise for most people. However, tabloids as mentioned above and media outlets like TMZ have found a way to monetize gossip. -
Former POTUS Found Guilty in Hush Money Trial
ProfD replied to ProfD's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
in the latest news, a Georgia judge has put Fani Willis' case against former POTUS Orange Julius (POJ) on Hold until March 2025. A Florida judge has pushed back the classified documents case too. If POJ wins re-election, those cases won't see the light of day until sometime in the year 2029. Former POJ is more slippery than an eel. It's by design. He's flexing. -
Former POTUS Found Guilty in Hush Money Trial

Former POTUS raised $141 million in the month of May. He's also leading in certain polls. -
Yo bro. Life gets busy sometimes. Totally understood. Hopefully everything on your end gets sorted sooner than later. Looking forward to you having time to chop it up with the fam again.
-
Understood. It's all good as long as you're doing well and still around. I'll keep holding it down in this forum until brotha @Troy kicks me outta this comfy armchair or turns out the lights.
-
Yep. it's been a long minute since brotha @Pioneer1 checked in and chopped it up with us. Pray that all is well with him. Hope he hasn't chosen to socially distance from the gallery. Same goes for @frankster and @richardmurray and other folks who haven't plopped down in their chairs for a while.

Former POTUS Found Guilty in Hush Money Trial
ProfD replied to ProfD's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
As the personification of white supremacy, privilege and nationalism, former POTUS Orange Julius (POJ) is picking up more steam with every grenade throw at him by the Left. However, be not dismayed if former POJ gets re-elected. The Left will have done everything it could to give the keys to the White House back to him. Former POJ does and says what the rest of them only think and wish they could do. -
https://www.cnbc.com/2024/05/30/trump-trial-verdict-hush-money.html Former POTUS Orange Julius was found guilty on all 34 counts in hush money trial. Yet, Truth Social website crashed because it was flooded with campaign donations for his reelection bid. Remains to be seen whether or not he gets jail time. Doesn't stop him from running for POTUS. Let's see if the American people are silly enough to re-elect a clown with so many cases that he's running for POTUS with hands tied behind his back.

If there was truly campaign finance reform, politicians would get more work done for the American people instead of catering to special interest groups and their lobbyists. Back in the day, politicians seemed dull and boring. Most of them looked uncomfortable on TV. They certainly didn't appear to have celebrity aspirations. No shortage of today's politicians who look forward to licking hot mics as if they are ice cream cones. Even the lower level politicians believe it's all about them. Misappropriating funds from personal spending to lavish trips at taxpayer expense. Once they have stolen enough money and/or gotten themselves booted out of office, some former politicians become political analysts on TV and radio. I would not be surprised if there's a future reality show in the making...Real Former Politicians of Capitol Hill starring [insert names here].

Brotha Troy, I have been to Mike's in Annapolis. it's a nice joint. Provide advanced notice the next time you touch down in DC. I'll scoop up and treat you to one of my seafood stomping grounds. Mayor Marion Barry and Chuck Brown are both DC icons. I know for sure that b8tch set up the mayor. He stopped through for that snatch box. She tricked him. The feds boxed his azz up.

The future don't seem too good for Black folks in the USA ...
ProfD replied to Stefan's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
You may want to evaluate your obsession with disparaging a deceased Black man who accomplished more for a Chocolate City as mayor in half the amount of time you spent at the Daily Planet. You started a thread. Didn't inform us about anything we didn't already know. Nor did you provide any ideas of how to stop Orange Julius from coming back into power. I plan to do exactly what Dick Gregory suggested the 1st time around before Orange Julius was elected. There's nothing Black folks can do to stop white privilege. There's common ground between us as I also enjoy reading brotha @Delano whenever he comes through and drops his insight. This coming election is a joke. Two old azz white men looking to run the country into the ground from different directions. The only thing both candidates have in common is maintaining the system of racism white supremacy. @Stefan, I have it good authority that you can rest assured your situation won't get any better or worse. It's called a holding pattern. -
Yeah, I have no idea of why @Stefan crawls out from under his rock and heads to the nearest library to use a computer and post his offerings and put downs. This discussion forum already has a small contingent of regular posters. Many lurkers based on view count. The regulars keep the discussions going. If we waited on Stefan to show up and provide content this forum would be drier than Arizona. Instead of stumbling in every now and then to scold us for one reason or three, it would be awesome if he could find something he likes about hanging out here. If flying in and insulting us makes Stefan feel better about himself, my recommendation would be to get up from the library computer and check out a book on mental health wellness for the constant curmudgeon. Whatever happened while @Stefan was the editorial supervisor at the Daily Planet is between him and them. Nobody here fired or forced him to turn his pens, paper and typewriter to retire. I have no idea of how or why justice for Elijah McClain became the reason for Stefan who seems to be an overly-sensitive senior citizen trying to insult a consistent member of this forum and someone who really could give two f8cks less about what he (Steffie) thinks. Thanks @aka Contrarian for acknowledging my contribution to the forum. As you know, even in the midst of our dust-ups, I'll forever be your #1 fan around here. There's nothing you can do about it.

Rep. Crockett soared like an eagle in her response to stupid azz Rep. MTG. I respect former FLOTUS Obama's statement in general. Black folks do enough of that already. However, Black folks cannot continue the non-violent and silent treatment every time racists come for us. We have to clap back. Only way bullies will learn.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/05/20/bleach-blonde-bad-built-butch-body-crockett-trademark/73770813007/ While it could be viewed as a scene from a Mean Girls movie, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX) delivered the insult of the year at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) (GA). Rep. MTG made a comment about Rep. Crockett's eyelashes getting in the way of her ability to read. A few minutes later, Rep. Crockett crushed it when she asked a question that included the alliterative bleach blonde bad built butch body in reference to Rep. MTG. As someone who has a strong appreciation for comedy in general and the ghetto version of it (Jonin' (DC slang) or dozens), Rep. Crockett delivered a perfect 10 if it was insult gymnastics. Surely, our elected officials should be doing more than hurling insults at each other but if someone decides to go there, don't half step. Word is Rep. Crockett has already trademarked the zinger and ordered swag containing it. I approve the move.

Right. There's no shortage of evidence that driving while Black is a very real thing. We should already know how to play the compliance game in the moment. Live to see another day. Fight the ticket in court. Protest abuse of laws and authority. Put attorney Ben Crump to work filing lawsuits against jurisdictions that abuse laws and authority. -

I've never met you in person but I'm sure you're spectacular. Around here, you're more than just a spectator seated in the peanut gallery. I look forward to reading your perspective even though you've given up on certain factions within the Black race. It's no secret that predominately red states have laws that disproportionately affect Black folks Recently, in Alabama, a Black man got a $200 speeding ticket for traveling 28 mph in a 25 mph zone. Ridiculous right there. But, the Black man could face 30 days in jail if he refuses to write a letter to the court apologizing to the police officer for using profanity. The officer blocked the vehicle after writing the ticket. Black man told the officer to get out of the d8mn way so that he could drop his kids off at school. Not surprised these situations are happening especially in the south. -

American politics has become a reality TV show. Grab your popcorn and candy and favorite beverage. Sit back and watch the sh8tshow. -
Juneteenth as a holiday was a bone thrown at Black folks because we don't have enough holidays. IMO, it will be harder to get traction for Kwanzaa because it's not popular among most AfroAmericans.

Admittedly, I haven't watched any of the Good Times reboot. But, it reads like a South Park knockoff using Black imagery. The open letter to Netflix is the 1st step in protesting this foolishness. Next up, for those to whom it matters, start canceling subscriptions.

The 1st and last versions read more like a human wrote it. That 2nd version, even based on the parameters provided, reads like a robot wrote it. @Delano, please let us know which one you decide to use.

(The hatred created from racism) It just never ends
ProfD replied to Stefan's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Interestingly, the shooting was caught on nearby cameras. The shooter made incriminating statements during talk with a crisis negotiator before police got him out of his barricaded house. Yet, the article writer insisted on using allegedly when referring to the man's actions. Meanwhile, down in Florida, a sheriff responding to a disturbance call ends up shooting and killing a Black man. Granted, the young man was holding a legally-owned gun at his side. But, he didn't really know who was banging on his door. Nonetheless, the Black man opens the door, officer sees a gun and starts shooting. Everything happened in a matter of seconds. No negotiation. The sad reality is that these hateful white folks don't see Blacks as humans. They see a threat that needs to be neutralized. Black folks have several reasons for which they can hate white folks. History proves it. OTOH, I cannot think of anything Black folks have done to make white folks hate us. The only thing Black folks have done is made it through slavery and found a way to thrive. Otherwise, Black folks haven't done much of anything directly to white folks to cause their hatred of us. I believe white hatred of Black folks is rooted in guilt and fear that one day they will be made to atone for their sins against us. That judgment day is coming.
