Based on my observations, most Black folks.....especially in the recent past....went to Church for entertainment and socialization. It was the center of the AfroAmerican community, especially down South. You went there to sing, dance, find a mate, get psychological counselling, etc.... I didn't care too much for the environment, so when I got old enough I stopped going and started reading the Bible deeply on my own.

ProfD I was talking specifically about the racist Whites on the police department. However for a long time you had a strong Black mayor who shielded you from a lot of the racism so many of our people were experiencing around the nation.

It seems to me that the mainstream media REALLY uses these debates for the same purposes that they aired nearly all of Trump's speeches live......to promote right-wing propaganda. I remember back in the 90s C-Span was showing live speeches by Minister Farrakhan and Dr.Khalid Muhammad. They stopped. They stopped because "too many" people were hearing the message and waking up so they ended it. Now they've turned to promoting Nazism and right-wing extremism with airing the Republican Debates and Trump speeches while claiming "the public" wants to hear them. Or with the claim that CNN likes to make that they're "exposing" Trump by airing all of his speeches when they clearly became his biggest promoter. If they were fair, ALL presidential candidates would get equal debate time for so many debates right up to the nomination and all would get the same amount of coverage.

Housewives married to a strong provided have much better job security and benefits and retirement package. Especially if she becomes a widow i.e. out-lives provider who has accumulated savings, investments, pension, etc. While there are exceptions to everything i.e. women who have been *successful* prostitutes, the odds are lower than a more stable situation. Housewives have fared better overall. You're talking about "best case" or "better case" scenarios with marriage. Not the typical average marriage in the U.S. where there is physical abuse, emotional abuse, substance abuse, often unwanted pregnancies, and financial strain and stress. Over many decades, women have been able to choose how they want to live and provide for themselves. No pimp, John or husband required. That would be ideal, but women in the U.S. are NOT allowed to choose because prostitution is illegal for the most part. I say make it legal (not human trafficking but sex for money) and let people have a CHOICE as to whether they want to engage in it or not. @frankster Let me make it clear that: 1. I support the institution of marriage when done PROPERLY. 2. I believe children should be raised by atleast a man and women in a committed relationship.....usually marriage. Having said that though.............. I would argue that historically, women have found more independence and success as PROSTITUTES than as old fashioned traditional HOUSE-WIVES. A lot of women have become successful and made lots of money being call-girls, escorts, and eventually Madams of their own brothels. As important is it is, how many have become wealthy from their position as subservient and obedient house-wives? I'd further argue that in recently history, house wives have experienced more domestic violence and physical abuse from their husbands....than prostitutes have from their Johns. The reasons I make this point is because "right and wrong" should based on BENEFIT to us as a people, not based on out-dated moral and ethical guidelines given to us by our enemies (the racists). We want a society based on TRUTH...because facts and knowledge solve our problems. In the U.S. prostitution is ILLEGAL and there is more child abuse, rape, transgenderism and other forms of perversion and abuse than other nations where prostitution between men and women are LEGAL. So again....PROVE what you say about prostitution being corrupting and exploitive. Also, what's your definition of "exploitation"? Does it only apply to sex? Seems to me you'd be more infavor of an ANTI-SEX Black Theocracy instead of a Progressive Black Nation....lol. A guest in their country even if you are a Citizen. If I had it MY WAY or OUR WAY the land we buy would be OUR LAND and no longer legally under their jurisdiction so we would be full fledged CITIZENS...not merely guests. Depending on your definition, how would you get workers to WORK for you and BUILD your society if you don't plan to use them to a certain extent? Also, you say MOST......but not all. What forms of exploitation are you NOT against? I can tell you clearly, I'm NOT trying to build a community based on Biblical or Western-Christian ideology and their PERVERTED rules of sex, diet, and other forms of so-called morality. Their society was built on LIES and HYPOCRISY. The same preachers telling YOU not to have sex, were running around having sex with everyone in the choir, in the congregation, and screwing as many women as they could get their hands on. I believe following THEIR way is one of the reasons our community is in the shape it's in today. That old way CLEARLY didn't work and is not working for most of us, so we need a NEW form of morals and ethic to build our society on.

Let's go to New York, D.C. Detroit, Chicago, or Philly and you tell me how much of a fight these young niccaz have been putting up against the racists.....lol. BTW........we didn't consider D.C. and Baltimore traditional "Northern" cities. They are Eastcoast in terms of architecture but in term of culture and the way people talk and interact, there is a very strong Southern vibe. When I would interact with my cousins from D.C. they would refer to people as "Miss So-n-So" a lot.

MLK house vandalism: Woman tried pouring gasoline on childhood home (usatoday.com) I haven't looked much into the story yet but I'm telling people right now, I BET it's going to come out that she was influenced by some crazy shit she heard and read over the internet about MLK being a "communist" or working with the "illuminati". I'm willing to bet MONEY that this is what sent her over the edge. For a couple of years now I've gotten into it with other Black folks over the internet who sat up and listened to some of these right-wing Trump-supporting websites who's only job is to go around trying to bash Black heroes and smear their reputations. They go around accusing Marcus Garvey of this....Malcolm X of that....Martin L.King of this. A few of them had claimed that Martin L. King was sent to "communist school" as a kid and then sent out to the Black community as an agent of the USSR in order to help destroy the nation. And a lot of Black folks even BELEIVE this shit! I'm willing to wager that this "sista" was heavily influenced by this propaganda. Wait until it comes out.....

Man, I haven't watched a Presidential debate since Obama was running....lol. I didn't see a need for it, all they do is sit up and tell lies. And when it comes to Republican debates.....they try to "out nazi" eachother with their extremist right-wing views. Even most of the American public is starting to catch on now. The ONLY purpose it serves is for entertainment.....especially when Trump is on the panel...lol. No Trump.....no entertainment. That's why many of them are talking about ENDING the RNC debates if Trump doesn't show up to them. And speaking of Trump, they've already pretty much made their mind up that HE will be the next Republican nominee unless something major happens. So why even waste time with these little welter-weights? Perhaps they are jocking for who will be Trumps RUNNING mate. If that's the case, I think Nikki Hailey probably has the best chance out of the bunch.

ProfD Now what does that say about US? That we invent so much and then just ABANDON it? I've known old Black women down South who made such good food. Didn't even have a recipe book. Made it from scratch by looking at it and measuring it with intuition. But when they were asked to write down the recipe or atleast teach it to their daughters...they refused to do so. Took the recipe to their graves. For what? Same with dance moves and other arts. When I was a kid in school one of the things that bothered me was how PROUD some Black kids were to teach White boys how to dance or how to "mack" on girls. They wouldn't teach other Black boys what they knew. If another Black boy was "lame" enough to even ask them how to do a dance or get a honey....they'd CLOWN on him and tell him. But a White boy? They'd take him under their wing and show him everything they know. Troy Little Richard was not only gay but he was FLAMBOYANTLY gay....lol. I think THAT....more so than his race...contributed to him not getting the popularity and shine that he deserved. You put him on live television and there's no telling what he might have said or done.

HIs shows had spin-offs after spin-offs....lol. I think Maud was a spin-off of All In The Family. The Jeffersons was a spin-off of All In The Family. Esther Roll and John Amos played in Maud and later got together for Good Times. I'm not going to lie, I LOVE those old shows. They were more "real" with their social commentary than a lot of the shit we see on television (if you even watch it) today. They were talking about the President, saying "nigga", addressing the most controversial issues of the time....openly. And they had LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCES who added to the entertainment.

That's my point...... They keep it in the closet or in the backwoods. They have sense enough to HIDE their dysfunctional people. A lot of our people tend to EMBRACE our dysfunctional and welcome them into our families and circles. Put the fool all on television and in music videos and call it "keeping it real".
