  1. This entire thing about immigrants being held and mistreated in detention camps may be true, but it's also being used as a DISTRACTION.
The media is pushing this issue.....like they are pushing the LGBT issue...and like they pushed the White women's issues 3 years ago.....in order to take the focus away from BLACK issues.

These congressmen and media can fly down to the border and cry like babies over people who are in this nation illegally are being treated, but they have no tears to shed over how thousands of Black men in prison are being treated everyday.....let along the thousands more homeless on the streets of America.

But I don't blame them, I blame AfroAmerican leadership for allowing it to happen.

  2. So I guess mulattos like Colin Kaepernick and Aeshya Curry are going to be among the new spokesperson's for AfroAmerican issues.

Or better yet.....the KARDASHIANS can also be spokespersons!

When it comes to AfroAmerican isssues, Trump seems to be paying more attention to and granting favors for KIM KARDASHIAN than even Kanye, Jim Brown, Steve Harvey or any other AfroAmerican jockying for his attention.

Well, if you give her some space, then maybe she will offer some input.

The floor was hers all along.
What I post and my presence shouldn't impact her ability to express herself.
And she said on numerous occasions that it didn't matter to her whether I stayed or left.  (yeah right....lol)

I hope you don't get offended at this as a female, but like I told Troy....it's been my observation that most female posters like being on sites where they can point their fingers at certain people and get them punished by either being shamed and ridiculed or suspended and banned.

I understand that most females tend to be more sensitive than males and it's hard for them to ignore the presence of certain individuals so the concept of "live and let live" and the concept of a place where EVERYONE (including those they don't like) have the total freedom to express themselves makes them feel uncomfortable.
I don't think YOU are this way because you post your ideas and do your own thing but many females I know can't stand to be on the same site with someone they don't like whether they are communicating with them or not.

Personsonally I don't think it was my presence that made Cynique angry this time but my expressing my belief that she found some of the men on this site attractive and got sexual energy off of her exchanges with us that perhaps made her feel "funny" or embarassed.
I would have taken the statement back if I knew it would have gotten this reaction from her.

If I had the money, not only would I invest a lot of it into this forum but I'd also invest in your abilities to do other things like networking with and building more AfroAmerican book stores both online and physically.
Perhaps even take things to another level like tarting an on-line independent film clubs for AfroAmericans similar to what you're doing for authors.

You don't talk about your children on here much but if none of them are going to carry on your legacy then you need to find intelligent young minds whom you can trust to safely and successfuly transfer everything you've built and all the knowledge you've gained to.

The Nation of Islam teaches that the concept of "godhood" is passed down from one man to the next as he takes everything he knows and passes it to another and then the next man not only possesses that knowledge but BUILDS upon it with the knowledge he accumulates and it goes so forth and so on generation after generation. Too often in this society individual AfroAmericans have to start from scratch because their parents and elders left them nothing to build from AND when they finally do build something and die,  unless a White man steals it from them - what they know and build doesn't get passed down but just passes away with them.

No, blonde hair and blue eyes doesn't come FROM Caucasians but it's a primary trait OF Caucasians because it's caused by a lack of melanin.

Blue eyes is caused by the ability to see the blood vessels behind the pupils because there isn't enough melanin in the pupil to conceal them.

Blonde hair is simply caused by a very low amount of melanin in the hair.

You admit that these traits are recessive but you say they aren't defective, but by nature that which is recessive IS a bit defective because if a part of your body is recessive then it's not doing the job as well as it was designed to do.

If you have blue eyes that are recessive they can't block out certain sun light rays as effectively as brown or black eyes.

If you pale skin with no melanin then it's recessive and the skin isn't as protected as more melanated skin.

Pioneer, you don't believe that many Black women today are also affected due to their own mothers who many are bi-racial or White?

Well, if their mothers are White then THEY are't Black...they're mixed.
So perhaps the probblems they're experiencing is the problems MIXED people may have trying to live AS Black people.

As you know, we live in a society with the "one drop" rule that often tries to force people who are clearly White or mixed to live as Black anyway.
If you aren't Black...you aren't Black...no matter what you are "called" or believe yourself to be and if you try to pretend otherwise it leads to confusion.

  5. What are we ready for?

Some of us....like me...are ready for success and prosperity and will see it.

Others....are ready for further slavery, further humiliation, and even death.

In my opinion, this is a time of Great Separation in the AfroAmerican community between those who are positive and believe in progress for our people and those who are negative and are essentially dead weight who not only slow down the progress of our community but also influences others toward negativity.

When we separate ourselves from the negative among us we will see our community progress much quicker and much further.

@Delano because the behavior is exhibited here in America does not make it "normal."

A lot? Relative to what? Sure there are some negroes living in Portland, but that is really stretching it man -- about the same number of people attend a cowboys game on any given Sunday as there are Black people living  in Portland. It is an amazingly white city. As far as I'm concerned they can have it. Though I would like to visit Powell's Book Store one day.

Oh man, Powell's City of Books used to be my SPOT when I lived in Portland!
I'd go up there every other weekend to read and meet women but mostly to read books that I didn't see anywhere else.

I remember  sitting down reading some some authentic translation of books by members of the Chinese revolution who documented what they saw and did and it talked about how children were attacking and killing their teachers in the class room.  I haven't read books like that anywhere else.

You may laugh when I say this but if you ever went to the Northside of Portland many of the streets would remind you a lot of Harlem; not only demographically but even how dense the infrastructure of the buildings are.
North Portland is mostly Black and used to be even Blacker than it is today but it's been gentrified over the past 20 years.

  7. Damn, what's up with all of these one line responses for the past few days?
Is it my perspective or have people totally lost the desire to even hold a discussion on a topic?

Poster #1:   I believe there's life on Mars

Poster #2....3  days later:   No, I don't agree with that

    ....and that's it.
Nothing else to add or say.

Chevdove   @Chevdove  is the only one I can count on to give some actual SUBSTANCE in her response.

    Ok Troy, I'm just venting a little.....lol.
If you want to you can go ahead and erase this thread after a few people see it.

Easy to fix: We won't pay taxes for xx years. We still work, still pay our bills, still put food on the table. And our kids go to school, for free.

Well as long as you're buying non-food items you're STILL paying taxes but I have 2 questions to ask you:

    1. Except for the few AfroAmericans who have their own businesses and actually have the CHOICE of whether or not to pay their income taxes, how can most AfroAmericans who work regular jobs and have their taxes automatically taken out by their employer do this?

    2. Even if some AfroAmericans chose not to pay taxes, who will protect them from the legal repercussions?

    Look at Wesley Snipes.

How many judges, lawyers, prosecutors, and federal agents can they depend on to protect them from incarceration?

Yes but I don't recall an epidemic of shooting each other.

    Native Americans mostly kill THEMSELVES.
Alcoholism and suicide are extremely high among the Native American populations.

It seems that different cultures have different ways of dealing with stress and frustration.

Where as people who are stressed out in the West often go on a shooting rampage, people in East Asia would rather set themselves on fire or jump off a building or perform some other form of self-torture.

Pioneer Aaliyah was fifteen when they married. He had mentioned she was 14. She may have been as young as 12.

The issue is whether or not R Kelly qualifies as a "pedophile".
I'm not sure when Aaliyah entered puberty, but most girls enter it before the ages of 14 or even 12.
In order to qualify as one, there has to be evidence of him either having slept with someone who HASN'T attained puberty yet.....or evidence of him DESIRING to do so.

Remember, you're not talking about mere activity with a "minor" which could be anyone under 18;  or any other type of sexual misconduct which has a broad range of legality and illegality depending on culture and jurisdiction,.  You're talking about the specific and narrow definition of who and what a pedophile is........and R Kelly doesn't fit that definition based on my limited knowledge of his activities.

Blacks White and Asians perhaps your 2/3 is a bit too high.

The hatred as you say is wider than I had mentioned .

What other group has such self loathing as their identity.

    Native Americans?
    Perhaps?
    But not sure.

In order for most Asians to support reparations, I think they'd have to be convinced that THEY would benefit from it somehow.
AfroAmerican leaders would have to really SELL the Asians....and perhaps even the Latino communities to really support it.

I wonder what the morality clauses would be for a Weapons Manufacturer?

I understand partially what you mean, but I don't believe it is that serious for other major reasons.

Perhaps one woman wearing her hair blonde isn't that serious, but when you start seeing a pattern of them doing it over and over again then you realize it's a pathology.

If you don't think so, ask yourself how many Asians or White women are willing to dye their hair black and curl it up into kinks?

The most I've seen White women do is dreadlocks, and that's still relatively rare.

I also understand what you're saying about how many Black women naturally have blonde hair and blue eyes but there are 2 things to consider on this:

    1. Many of those so-called "Black women" are actually products of slavery and colonialism and have a lot of Caucasian ancestry in them too.....so that blonde hair and those blue eyes aren't part of a natural African make-up but just more Caucasian genes expressing themselves generations later.

    2. Even among unmixed Black populations.....blonde hair and blue eyes are considered "defective" and aren't celebrated. Those features usually got you ostracized from the community because by nature they're seen as genetically "weak" or recessive.

This is one of the reasons albinos had and still have such a hard time in traditional African culture.

It's not about White traits being pretty or ugly.
It's not about condeming White phenotypical traits....it's about PROMOTING African traits.

It only makes sense to promote who and what you are instead of promoting someone else.

Someone needs to tell those pesky bullets

The pesky bullets aren't the problem.
It's the CRAZY NEGROES who are shooting them at eachother all over the ghetto that's the biggest problem.
They're killing eachother more than the racist police and racist Caucasian civilians COMBINED.

Take away the guns and the ammo and some of these fools will still find a way to kill eachother.
Start using knives, shovels, hammers, bricks, or anything else they can get their hands on.

Based on my observations, AfroAmericans OURSELVES need a good lecture about how much "black lives matter" more than the police do!

  14. It might even END as an All White state.
Has anyone been following what's been going on there the past few days where right-wing militias have grouped up to take over the state's capital?

I used to live in Oregon.
Portland has a LOT of Black people and most of them come from the Los Angeles and Oakland area.

I wouldn't call R Kelly a child molestor simply because he allegedly had sex with underaged females.
It's not like they were 6 or 7......they were in their mid-teens.
Not only was it consentual but they certainly were old enough to know what they were doing.

    Inappropriate....yes.
    Pedophilic.....no.

As far as athletes and their public image......

Agents and others who control the major sports entertainment industry in America understand the power of atheletes and the influence they have on the public which is why they often use them to endorse commercials and even include behavioral clauses in their contracts that prohibit them from engaging in certain behavior that may seem "unbecoming" of an athlete in their position or of their team in general.

Once you become a public figure you have a responsibility for the images you put out whether you want it or not.

  16. It's hard to get into the mind of another person but based on personal experiences and observations I think a large portion of Caucasians truly do see AfroAmericans as humans.
    What percentage....I'm not sure.
Atleast 1/3rd if not a full 2/3rds of them probably see us as human beings equal to them although they may not quite understand our behavior.

    Actually.......
If you combine the AfroAmericans and Latinos in power with those Whites who actually DO see AfroAmericans as deserving reperations, I'd say we have a pretty good shot.

  17. Troy

My racial classification system may be personal and subjective but it's certainly not arbitrary, there are definate rules and guidelines that I follow in my determination and they are quite consistent and precise.

Which is exactly what society needs when it comes to classifying people based on race or ethnicity.....consistency and precision.

Under the current and popular method of classification; whether you agree that race even exists or not you should atleast agree that the system is inconsistent and HOW they classify people as well as the categories seem to change with each generation.
Leading to more and more confusion.
