Troy Glory was always a favorite movie of mine since day one, and my love for it only increased after learning more about the history of the 54th Regiment and the role Black troops played in the Civil War. Word is.... The North was actually LOSING the war until Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation and the enlistment of Black troops to help fight. That was the real turning point. Part of me wishes they'd do a movie on the role Black soldiers played in the CONFEDERATE Army! Maybe Ryan Coogler will ramble around in his creativity closet and find something for me....lol.

Troy Damn! That's beyond robbery....that's satanic. They said that after the "deal" that was made in Congress to end the shutdowns....that insurance premiums on some plans would increase. I didn't know that increase would take place THIS quick though. I thought the entire purpose of Obamacare or the "Affordable" Care Act was to keep the premiums low and affordable.

frankster I remember a while back when they changed the signs to KFC. A few people said the same thing. That they had to stop calling it "Kentucky Fried Chicken" sense they were no longer selling actual chicken, lol. I'm not sure how true this is. I believe they ARE selling false meat and genetically modified chicken and other foods, but I'm not sure if that's the reason they changed the signs. KFC sounds a bit more "hip". However I DO think there is a lot of validity to it. Black elites operate and live INSIDE of a powerful System of Racism and what they can and cannot do to "help" other Black folks is very limited despite what you THINK they should be doing. Yes, much of the Civil Rights movement was funded by wealthy Black people MOST of it was funded by wealthy White philanthropists who maintained control over most of the Movement being the major "shareholders" of it. So the power of the Black 1% was tampered down and offset by the power certain members of the White 1% who played "good cop". Further, you speak of the "Black 1%" as if they are a monolith and move as a team or unit. SOME Black elite are down for the cause and believe in helping their people, others are in it only for themselves and hoard their wealth, and yet others are sell outs who ASSIST the System of Racism in oppressing other Black people. It varies. Not only is it misleading and confusing to talk of the Black elite as if they were a monolith group of singular thought, aim, and purpose.....but it can also lead to a lot of misunderstandings and conflicts in the community. ProfD I'm curious as to what KIND of beans did Mr. Fuller eat. The Nation of Islam teaches hard on the Navy Bean and how nutritious it is and how it increases longevity. Judging by some of Mr. Fuller's interviews, he was clearly influenced....to a certain degree....by members of the Nation of Islam if not by the teachings of the Nation of Islam itself. It would seem that the fact that they made it TO the 1% is example enough that some of our people can reach high stations in life. But ofcourse, Mr. Fuller Jr. would refer to these elite Black folks as being "Showcasted" They are pawns in a game being played by Racists known as "Racial Showcasing Confusion" According to Mr. Fuller, many of them didn't achieve their positions on their own but were "chosen" by the Whites in power to be used as props to make it appear that there is no racism and that the system is fair and just. This gives the feeling to those NOT chosen that something must be wrong with THEM since these selected negroes are apparently so successful but they aren't.

ProfD While NF Jr. lived into his 90s, I'm willing to bet he didn't grow his own food and he bought it from the grocery store instead of farmer's markets. You know what..... I'm not sure how healthy his diet was, but from time to time callers would call in questioning him about it and were curious as to what he ate. I know I was, especially if a man lives to be in his 80s and 90s and remained as sharp as Mr. Fuller. He said he never smoked or drank alcohol. And he said he ate a lot of beans. He's by some sort of beans and put vegetables and I think he said meat in them sometimes, but a lot of beans.

Honestly, the issue is if people LINE UP to disagree with me. And refuse to acknowledge when I'm correct. That's offensive, IMO. Cynique That's not true. People post their opinions and make statements on message boards and on social media FOR other people to see. If they didn't care....they wouldn't post them. I can think of ONE TIME you actually agreed with me and actually backed me up on an issue. It was a group discussion and I said something that was a little raw and honest about how some men view women or something like that and one of the female posters challenged me on the issue and you stepped in and told her: "He's being honest....why is that a problem?" ....or something like that, I forgot your exact words. At any rate, I don't remember any other time where you actually agreed with me on a subject. You may have, but either I don't recall it or you didn't vocalize it. And it SEEMS as if you've influenced Troy.....lol. He used to agree with me on over 75% of my opinions or positions I took on an issue. Now... He'll be absent from the site and you won't hear from him for 6 or 7 months, then he'll pop back in and drop a couple posts JUST to disagree with something I said. "No way! Never heard of it! How do you come to these conclusions??? I don't know WHERE you got that from! Our experiences are way different! Are you on drugs?" Then after disagreeing with me, he disappears again...... It really depends on the man too and what he's looking for. I'm the type of man who wants a woman to actually be ATTRACTED to me if she's interested. Some men only want sexual pleasure from a woman, so basically "bribing" her with money or favors in exchange for sex even if it's clear she doesn't find him attractive....is good enough for them. It's just physical for them. If the woman is attractive enough, I may offer favors to INITIATE a mutual attraction by getting her interested. However if I don't see any attraction from her and she looks as is she's being with me RELUCTANTLY....I pull back and move on. But like you said, I can usually spot that early on.
