  1. Troy That is one of the disciplines that studies the human brain and how it can be tricked, we are tricked every single day. Sometimes it’s deliberate and malicious other times was just the way it is. Ok ...and you don't believe this same concept can be applied to statistics, polls, and figures presented to the public? The same skepticism you're applying to eyewitness testimony and personal observation can be applied to how data is gathered, organized, and presented as well as WHO is gathering, organizing, and presenting it. Accurate sight, that is purely a human construct. Different animals can see different wave lengths of light. The differences are just differences accurate is your construct. Are you suggesting that accurate sight among humans doesn't actually exist? What's your point by calling the notion of it a "human construct"? Going back to the image I shared you look directly at it and see two different colors, even by your own definition of accurate you perceive colors differently uncertain conditions — when you think that you don’t. Actually you don't perceive two different COLORS but two different SHADES of the same color. So the deception isn't as great as you're making it out to be. It's not like the illusion was designed to force people to see blue as "pink". Unless a person is visually impaired or intoxicated, visual deception has limits to it. You’re conflating things and muddling the argument. Of course statistical data can be misinterpreted or patterns can be over looked or seen when none exist, but we’re not talking about that…. I'm not "muddling" the argument, the thread has always been about how statistics and other figures can and often ARE used to deceive and manipulate people as well as are often fabricated and manipulated themselves. You'd rather overlook this common sense fact to focus on the frailties of human observation. This is what you actually learn in most universities. How to trust "the system" over your own senses. Obviously. Haven’t you ever filled out the census? If so, you know they ask a variety of questions. Lol...man, the Census is NOT a poll! A poll is a survey of opinions. The Census is NOT a survey of opinions but an official government collection of data. Delano I am using uncommon knowledge which you may not be Cognizant. Ok...why? If it's uncommon and you figure I "may not" be cognizant of it then why would you think it would be appropriate for a common conversation? You are assuming I am wrong when you haven't understood what I said. Which circles back to my other point. I admit I did (silently) question your choice of words, but I didn't attempt to correct you either. I simply did my research and realized it wasn't a mistake. Remember, I'M the one who brought this to YOUR attention. It's not like I attacked you over that word assuming you made a mistake only for YOU to have to explain to me the other meaning of it...lol. It only took you a day to realise the statement I made was correct. That's a good turn around time Yeah, yeah, yeah......lol. This is almost impossible to do and not get caught. That depends on 2 factors: 1. Assuming there are people actually TRYING to catch whoever is presenting the false information. If Fox News puts out a fake poll or statistic, certainly nobody inside the organization is going to try to dispute it. Small chance other conservative media will either. How much time and effort will OTHER people and organizations spend trying to verify the numbers and figures being put out? 2. How long would it actually TAKE to cross reference and investigate the veracity of the figures being presented and declare them fraudulent? It may be years...possibly DECADES...after the fact. Long after the damage has been done. No I just have more of a dislike of ignorance. Things must really be sad for you because you are IGNORANT of way more than you actually know...lol. That's humanity in general. This isn't quite right. Vision isn't like a camera. Visual perception can be effected by suggestion. Suggestion is often more of a matter of FOCUS than general vision itself. Unless a person is under hypnosis, suggestion generally doesn't add or remove objects from a person's VISION. It merely FOCUSES them on certain objects already in view. You can SEE way more than what you're actually LOOKING at. Cynique We go waaay back, Troy. You've always been a gentleman and a scholar; a really cool guy. Yeah??? You weren't talking like that a few years ago when you LEFT this site to go hang out at facebook....or whatever social media you said you were leaving us for, lol. You weren't slapping him on the shoulder talking about some damn: "gee you're a swell guy" ....back then. Were you??? Like I said.... You ain't foolin' NOBODY -but yourself. And NOT doing a very good job at that...lol.
  2. ProfD Still, I wouldn't be surprised if she's wearing spanx underneath that jumpsuit. DMX said...that's Ok...that's Alright...lol. I told you when it comes to women over a certain age I grade them on a CURVE. If a woman needs to shoe-horn on some spanx to wear under her clothes to feel good about her self and keep everything on her body pointing and moving in the same direction...lol....I wouldn't be mad at her for it. Later on that night we'll both be giggling at how all of that "goodness" is a-poppin' out like Pillsbury biscuits as she peels it off....lol.
  3. ProfD No doubt Trump IS racist. However as many have observed, some of his antics are a "show" for the more ignorant of his followers who are so racist and bigoted that it overrides any other values they may hold. Trump is an opportunist who's MAIN passion is to acquire wealth and power. Racism is a side dish that he enjoys WITH his main meal, lol. He may not like Black people but as you said....he'll USE Black people or other people of color to accomplish whatever ends are necessary. ...as opposed to the typical mayonnaise-sandwich and beenie-weenie eating trailer trash who's main pride...besides being White....is his collected assortment of MAGA hats and t-shirts. Unlike Trump and Musk, his racism and hatred mixed with his low self esteem prevents him from even USING people of color to achieve certain goals. He'd rather stay poor and in the woods living like a caveman rather than work with a Black man just long enough for both of them to get some wealth and go their separate ways. That's the difference. This is why I still support Mayor Adams' move to distance himself from the Do-Nothing-Democrats and align himself with Trump who got those charges dropped. If I had to choose, I'd much rather work with an open racist who somewhat keeps his word...somewhat...than covert racists who can't be trusted period. Speaking of covert racists: Bill Maher is one of the chief ones. I forgot to mention....but you didn't....Bill's reputation for fucking Black women. This garbage is often used by White men to hide their racism. I remember years ago on Politically Incorrect he said something greasy about the Black community and the so-called "Black Conservative" Aisha Tyler was all smiles and grins talking about she was gonna forgive or ignore (I forgot exactly what she said but it was something along that line) what he said because he dated Black women.
  4. I share the belief of many that Trump isn't quite as right-wing and racist as he portrays himself to be. Elon Musk is!!!! But I don't believe Trump is. I believe he's more of an OPPORTUNIST and will use whatever means at his disposal to accomplish his objectives. Which is why he switched parties and the people he associates with over the years. The real danger is in his MAGA supporters who ARE hard core racist and bigoted and see him as they're symbolic leader. He's the central figure and the lightning rod that attracts them so that their energy has focus and political power. I really don't believe he intended to become President. I think he started running....not necessarily as a joke...but as a way to get attention and generate money but after seeing how much support he was getting his "handlers" decided to take this shit all the way to it's conclusion and it took him to the Whitehouse.....TWICE. This is a real life blockbuster MOVIE in the making!
  5. Gravity doesn't seem to be having that much of an effect on my girl Gayle King! Homegirl wearing the SHIT out of that blue jumpsuit....lol. Nah.... No amount of surgery can give a 70 year old woman THAT kind of form and figure. That's a product of Mother Nature. ....with her long legged ass, lol.
  6. Lol, you brought your ass up in here JUST to say that? A house full of grown men talking and you decided to come all the way up in it just to say, "I bet those guys got bigger dicks than you do! Ha ha heeee!!". ....then run out the door grinning??? Nothing else to add to the conversation?????
  7. That ratio sounds about right. Like I've said for years, MOST men aren't meant to be alphas. You hear this world "beta male" being thrown around like an insult. Like calling them gay or something. Jesse Lee Peterson is notorious for calling men "beta males"....lol. "Beta male! See....the only reason you would make a statement like that is because you a beta male and ya mama didn't raise you right." But I think MOST men are beta and gamma and a large portion are probably sigma too. Only a percentage are actually alphas based on my observation. Which makes sense because EVERYBODY can't be top dog or the leader. In any organization you have to have more followers than leaders for it to work, or else it would collapse from being too top heavy.
  8. Ofcourse. But that's not the majority anymore. Most men (or women) aren't supporting the entire family of children and another spouse/care-mate with one job. Most SINGLE people or person with one a child can support themselves with one decent job, depending on the region of the country they're in. But when you add another adult to the picture or more children....most have to rely on staying with family, picking up 2 jobs, and often times engaging in illegal activities to generate enough income.
  9. Ok..... I don't believe the MAJORITY or even HALF of all men were meant to be alpha males. I believe less than 20% were. Don't ask me where i got that figure....lol. But certainly less than a quarter.
  10. Troy OH CONTRARE! Marketers use all sorts of tactics to trick, indeed hack, into our minds to manipulate us into engaging into specific behaviors and beliefs. This is old news. It is why I generally avoid social media. This is more along the lines of PSYCHOLOGY and psychological manipulation...not visible OBSERVATION. -2 different concepts. They often converge and intertwine as marketers will use imagery to deceive people, but they are still 2 separate concepts. The eyes were designed by nature for accurate sight. Not to deceive. (I don't know what you mean by "center"). The places that I marked with the red "x". As humans we cannot avoid being tricked by the images or social media. the problem with social media is that the company's are not divulging how they screw with us. The good thing for them is that most people think they can't be manipulated. You clearly don't think YOU can be manipulated by the so-called "statistics" you are constantly being given. What?! Man, if you don't know we can't have a conversation on this subject SMH LOL! I said there is NO POLL that attempts to include all Americans. Your response to that was claiming the U.S. Census tries to include everyone. So apparently YOU believe that the Census is some sort of "poll".
  11. Troy By "make it" I mean simply being able to INDEPENDENTLY support yourself if need be. I'm not complaining about people not being wealthy or living in luxury. That's nice, however it's almost a given that most people aren't living like this. If the vast majority of people were simply INDEPENDENT and able to afford their own home (house or apartment), 2 solid meals, clothes, and health care....that would be fair. However it doesn't seem as if the vast majority of people are able to do this. Most of them are "living off" of other people to make ends meet. Usually either a parent or a lover. It's one thing to live with a girlfriend or spouse and you share money and bills WHILE enjoying the comforts of companionship....as long as you don't NEED them. And often times those who have neither often end up DESTITUTE...locked up, homeless, or dead. This was less the case 60 and 70 years ago when ONE PERSON could get ONE JOB and support not only themselves but a family. So today's economy doesn't sound too progressive to me.
  12. I agree.... Which is why I take issue with your belief that the percentage of men actually doing this doesn't matter. It matters because if a majority or just half of the men in a society are found not being able to live according to their nature and assume their responsibilities AS men. That bespeaks of a problem IN that society, and it needs to be addressed. In other words...... If you study the next generation and discover that half of the boys are growing up to be homosexuals when you KNOW that's not the nature of most males....that should tell you there's a problem going on an investigation needs to be launched to figure out why.
  13. Lol....I don't know of any "statistic" that's going to give you an accurate figure of how many men are "holding it down" for several reasons. However as far as your belief that percentage of men actually doing this not mattering.... Let me ask you? Do you think that a man SHOULD be doing this by nature, or that by nature men were INTENDED to take care of and protect themselves, their women, and children???
  14. Troy I shared things like this before. Do the top and bottom the gray surfaces appear to be the same color to you? The CENTERS of those surfaces are the same colors. However this is a relatively simple illusionary trick DESIGNED to play with sight. Most of the things you observe from day to day aren't as malicious...lol. If eye-witnessing thing were so terrible and unreliable then why do law enforcement often as for descriptions of suspects from witnesses to a crime? And why are the testimonies of witnesses even CONSIDERED in court? The US census is an attempt to count everyone. I said POLL. Is the Census a "poll"???? Delano I trust numbers more than I trust people's observations, since I can interrogate the numbers and find the truth. Most studies are done by more than one group. But the numbers COME from people's observations. ....unless they're making them up out of thin air, which I suspect IS happening from time to time. People are often ignorant or resistant to facts. Surely you can relate to this statement, intimately. Man...... Accuracy is about being correct. Precision is more about the level of detail. Ok, I can get with that. So in this instance your observations about numbers don't have as much validity as my analysis of the same. Full disclosure I am not a statistician, however I have a faculty with numbers and analysing data. This is why I said your post was thought provoking.... Initially I thought you had mistakenly used "faculty" when you actually meant "fascination" but then I decided to look up the actual definition of "faculty" instead of going by it's most common use, and when I saw it's FIRST definition I realized your choice of words wasn't a mistake. To use your example . Not all holes will sink about. It depends on the size and where the hole is located and the type of boat. Which is something that requires observation and specialised knowledge. Which a mathematician, an engineer or some fluent with fluid mechanics would be more likely to correctly assess. As analytical as that was, it still doesn't answer my question as to whether I should "speak up" or "speak on" it simply because of my limited knowledge. Perhaps my sounding the alarm would get the attention of those who DO know enough about ship damage to assess how great of a concern the hole poses. If I was more concerned and worried about looking silly because of what I "didn't know"....that lack of confidence could end up sinking the ship and killing everyone in it. It's important for me to understand the limits of what I know. You are not so constrained. Maybe you don't have the confidence that I have...lol. Sometimes it's not about being smart and knowledgeable as much as it's about having the courage to point things out and USE what little knowledge you DO posses to get shit done.
  15. ProfD Men who are capable of taking care of themselves, their women, children, family and friends, etc., are respected and powerful I agree. How many.....or what percentage....of men today, would you say actually fit that description?
  16. When I tried to log on the other day I got one of those "go daddy" pages that you see from time to time. I refreshed the page and was able to get on as normal.
  17. and lied about me saying I used to sling bags at the post office LOL That was funny. I'll have to give her a pat on the back for that one.
  18. Troy Things are easy and smooth IF you're smart/talented enough to make a good living and function in this society. Of which a lot of people are NOT. I can't speak on other countries because although I've been to other nations, I haven't actually tried to make a living in them; however in the United States trying to afford a decent solidly middle class life for most people is NOT easy and many...a large percentage...aren't doing it. They are being locked up, living on the street, committing suicide (directly and indirectly with drugs and reckless living), living off of other people, etc.... Yes a lot of Americans ARE "making it" and enjoying financial success. I'm not saying it's NOT happening, however if it SEEMS like "everybody's doing fine" it could be because you don't SEE the millions of Americans who AREN'T "making it". Millions of them are locked up and away in prisons and jails, and the numbers are increasing. On top of that, they're IMPORTING millions of immigrants into this society (legally and illegally) to keep it up and maintain it to give the illusion that it's stable.
  19. Delano Not that I agree with it totally, but I must say your second from last post was pretty intellectual and insightful.....as they are from time to time, lol. Sometimes you sound well educated and thought provoking, and other times you sound like you're posting on here from a basement....lol....with the lights off. This is why some years ago I accused you of being atleast 2 people sharing the same account. I'll respond a little later.......
  20. Ah shit...... Ain't that 'bout a b-i...... Here I was thinking they actually went UP into space and LANDED on something....lol Like I said, I didn't follow it too closely. It's one of those stories that I followed by just watching the images and pictures with the sound on the television off while I actually focus on more important matters...lol. I kept seeing Gayle and some other woman marching down some steps with a sandy dusty environment in the background and I thought it may have been another planet or an asteroid or something. But they didn't have a helmet on or any other type of breathing apparatus...I thought that was strange. But I wasn't TOO concerned about it because I really didn't care....lol.
  21. frankster I HOPE you don't expect Harry to respond to your line-by-line.....lol.
  22. Really? I didn't follow it that closely. I was under the impression that they actually WENT somewhere like to the moon or an astroid or something.....lol.
  23. Man, yall sound like "Vera" in Harlem Nights.....talking about she had her mouth all fixed up for some Tuna salad or something.....lol.
  24. frankster In comparison to other continents and their history....it is tolerant Man, there are DOZENS of military conflicts going on in Africa right now as we speak. People are being killed over religious and ethnic differences. Those conflicts you listed from South America were a STRECH, and you know it....lol. How many military conflicts are taking place in the Continent of North America? How many military conflicts are taking place in the Continent of Australia? Just let it go bro........ I never said there was no wars in Africa.....more amicably than most other places in the world thoughtout history No but you: 1. Compared them with other continents and declared it to be more peaceful and tolerant when it indeed IS NOT 2. You claimed that differences are tolerated and people get along amicably....when in many cases they DO NOT and they actually fight and kill eachother. If you are accused and suspected of a crime.....and you cannot proven your innocence - you will be treated as a criminal. It depends on the country. In the United States...in theory...you are PRESUMED INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. If how ever you or the people examining you can not prove you are a human being.....chances are you are not a human being One problem with that logic is...perhaps the people doing the examining DON'T WANT to prove that you are human. They may have an interest in DENYING your humanity.
  25. They charge you more to make you pay for the CONVENIENCE of having what you want on hand, when you want it....lol.
