We're STILL benefiting off of the programs he initiated like public housing, Welfare, Social Security, and Medicaid. Programs that places like Demark and Sweden actually adopted FROM US. They're still funding these programs for their people but WE'RE the ones who actually started them during the Roosevelt Administration and Western Europe adopted them after WWII to get their people back on their feet.

Sometimes if you can properly and effectively articulate and SELL yourself and your vision to our people, they will support YOU not only politically but financially as well. But you have to show them what's in it for THEM, and not just you. They're not the dominant population everywhere on the planet. No, but they RUN/MANAGE much of the planet. And if we're talking directly and INdirectly....MOST of the planet. Even the so-called people of color like the Asians and most Latinos share a White racist mindset which is generally anti-Black. ProfD Gotcha. You're referring to a Black-owned and controlled town, city, state, etc. That requires a major power move More specifically, an FBA/AfroAmerican one. It needs to be more specific than just "Black" because every "brother" ain't a "brutha". The community for the most part needs to be on the same page as far as our values and priorities so trying to share a "Patriarchal" community with most Africans and even most Caribbeans may lead to a disaster and a failed state. However they ARE our brothers and sisters.... They can have their own communities, we can have ours, and we can work together.

I happened to be watching this video this morning and when my man said THAT part (somewhere around the 11 minute mark) about hiring somebody to walk the dog instead of doing it themselves because they could make way more money doing something else, I immediately thought of the discussion we had the other day when some of you informed me that most wealthy Black people would rather HIRE somebody to change the batteries of their smoke detector or do other simple household things. It was hard for me to believe that because as I said before, I don't know a whole lot of wealthy Black people personally. I know SOME...but most of the Black people I know are either professional, working class, or poor. Most of the professional and working class Black people I know would rather save money by doing things themselves rather than hiring other people, but THIS brother articulated what some you said about it being better to hire somebody else to do it rather than take up your "valuable" time doing it...as that time could be spent by you doing something more profitable. I admit that it does seem to make sense to a certain extent. But I'm still going to change MY OWN batteries and screw in MY OWN fucking lightbulbs rather than pay somebody else...as long as I can, lol.

ProfD It's definitely a lot to remember but harder to hack and steal. That's the thing I have a time trying to understand. They can hack the fucking PENTAGON. Every time you turn on the news you hear about the Pentagon or some government institution has been hacked, and they supposedly have some of the best cyber security. So how can a password or PIN number keep the average citizen safe? All of these passwords and security verifications is making an inconvenience in most cases. I see the need for it to a CERTAIN EXTENT, but it's getting to be too much. It's ONLINE....so if you're not seeing the person actually IN person you can ask a million questions and STILL be deceived. That's the nature of doing business online. The question is how far back do we go....corded and pay phones, keeping birth certificates in a shoebox, writing checks, licking stamps, check cashing joints, etc Honestly..... I think people should be given A CHOICE. I you WANT the extra security of passwords, encrypted codes, and PIN numbers...then sign up for that. If you aren't that concerned about security and want to keep things simple, you should be allowed to take that chance. But don't FORCE a whole lot of shit on people they didn't ask for. Like I said earlier..... It's one thing to go through all of this effort if you're trying to get rich or have some sort of online business. But when it comes to taking take care of regular routine business like checking your phone bill or making a doctor's appointment or checking the status of your tax refund....it shouldn't be made THAT complicated. That juice isn't worth the squeeze.

ProfD Keeping up with what's going on in Sweden hasn't been my biggest priority....lol...however from what I've heard over the years they along with Finland and Denmark have been receiving a HUGE influx of Arab refugees from Syria since the major conflict started overthere over a decade ago. And they've been having problems with these refugees not just because they're Arab but because of their masculine and often sexist and sometimes offensive traditions...there's been a lot of culture clashes. I've also heard that Somalis have been coming into Sweden for nearly 2 decades now. But expect for the liberal and generous social services to be scaled back now that more people of color have arrived.

The reason for that is because White people and the positions of authority they hold tend to AFFECT and IMPACT the lives of AfroAmericans so much that you can't help BUT to concentrate and focus on them for one reason or another. -Most of the times if you interact with a police officer, it's going to be a White person. -Most of the time if you interact with a doctor or medical professional, it's going to be a White person. -Most of the time if you need a loan for a car or business, you have to go to a White person and the institution is owned by a White person. Now you can try to tune them out and focus on some scientific project and build yourself a: XTM WIRELESS 5300 Space-Modulator ...if you want, lol. But sooner or later you're going to have to go back to life and back to reality where you have to pay rent/mortgage and deal with a Whtie person over some matter or another. There's no getting around it. It is Technology that made it possible for White people to go around the world taking over land and stealing resources, not their skin color. True. But their skin color was their UNIFORM that allowed them to rally with and unite with eachother. School was more about psychologically conditioning kids to be subservient to AUTHORITY than empowering their minds to take control of their destinies. While this is true, when I think of a Patriarchy I think of an entire SYSTEM...or atleast an entire community within a system. It's one thing for an individual Black man to control his own household. But that's not a Patriarchy if his control and power and influence is LIMITED only to that household and he doesn't have a NETWORK of other Black men in positions of power to help solidify his position as head of household. The Black man is head of the house, but a White police officer or White judge in a White Patriarchal community can REMOVE that Black man and destroy the household. We need a Black Patriarchal community where Black men in power support eachother in maintaining their positions of power not just in the household but in society atlarge....including the schools, law enforcement, banks, religious institutions, grocery stores, ect.. A TRUE Black Patriarchy would include all of this. CroockedT But equality should be about everyone, not just maintaining old systems. I don't know if you'll even achieve true equality in this world. It may be a waste of time for most people to even focus on it. Perhaps the focus would be more productive if it were placed on our people achieving as much structured and organized wealth and power as we can IN this world...as long as it lasts.

EXCELLENT QUESTION I think that was a very articulated and profound question because it helps to explain my position and thoughts on what Black politicians SHOULD be doing. If they just WON'T or CAN'T tear down the System or Racism, then perhaps the next best thing TO do is try to navigate in it the best way you can. What other choice do you have? You can't say you want no part in such an evil system because as long as you live in this country you're IN the system anyway. So now that you're IN it...it's a matter of what position you choose to be WHILE you're in it. If you are a prison inmate: Is there more honor sleeping on the floor in "the hole" or solitary confinement than there is walking around as a trustee sleeping on a nice bed and eating what you want when you want? If you're GOING to be an inmate and can't get out, might as well have the best and most comfortable position available to you.

All of this forcing people to use passwords for different things MAY infact have the opposite effect! When you're forced to have THAT many passwords just to perform normally and get your basic services, you start making ALL of your passwords the same so that you can easily remember it. Most people aren't geniuses....they are of average intelligence and have OTHER things they need to focus on other than keeping a bunch of numbers and symbols and shit in their heads for security and verification's sake. Who does that??? Unless you're a savant...nobody is going to file 50 fucking different passwords in their heads. Not even an Engineer or math scientist. If they need passwords for THOSE many sites and systems they're going to start narrowing them down to only one or two. And I think that's probably what "they" want. "They" know human nature and they know that most people will probably use the same one or two passwords for ALL of their different services and accounts; so if they can find out what that ONE password is...they can hack ALL of a person's private accounts. Cyber criminals are out there, but I personally believe a lot of it is fear mongering. They're purposely trying to make things complicated as an excuse to deny services. When I was a kid I used to hear older people complain about how much things have changed for the worse and how much better things were back in the "old days" and I used to laugh at it. I'm not laughing at that now because I understand what they mean.

Thanks Troy No lie.... That video was VERY educating and inspiring. But also it was slightly....just slightly....saddening; because it makes me wonder what happened in our community that we don't hear stories like Mr. Johnson's today. I often wonder what it would have been like if I were born....say around 1920 or 1930...and lived in Chicago, Detroit, or Philly at that time. What would I have done seeing so many Black businesses on the rise? Would I be part of them? Would I be a factory or mill worker? That Black family was solidly intact at that time also.

I was inspired to share my thoughts on this after reading the exchange between richardmurray and Mel in another thread. As a non-religious person I believe that IDEALLY...males, females, and even those in between (hermaphrodites) should be given full equal rights and share power evenly in society. Ideally, the only difference in degree of power between individuals would be based on each individual's desires and abilities and not their sex/gender. However.......((yall knew a "however" was coming...lol)) AS LONG AS White men rule the world with a Patriarchal system and OTHER races of men rule their societies with a Patriarchal system...I support having a BLACK Patriarchy. I'll support Egalitarianism for us...which I really DO feel is ideal...when OTHER races of men follow suit and share power with THEIR women too. An analogy would be when a reporter asked our Brother Malcolm X when he converted to Sunni Islam does he still believe that AfroAmericans should pick up guns to defend themselves, and he told the reporter yes, ofcourse. After the reporter asked him why, he basically said...and I'm paraphrasing: "Well when you tell YOUR people to put down THEIR guns...I'll tell MY people to put down THERE'S" In other words, don't ask US to take a higher moral ground than YOU'RE willing to take. Similarly..... I'm all for the Black woman sharing power and authority equally with the Black man. Absolutely.... When the White men does it with his woman. But if society doesn't ask that the White OR the Arab OR the Asian man share power and authority equally with THEIR women...even the WOMEN aren't asking for it in most cases, then why in the world do they want US as Black men, to? Another analogy would be homosexual rights. Again, as a non-religious and logical thinker I support the rights of gays and lesbians to do as they please as long as it doesn't harm others, however if you're not in Arabia or Iran or China forcing THEM to accept gay marriage and homosexuality, why are you in Africa trying to force OUR people to accept it? What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Again, don't demand moral standards from US that you aren't willing to demand from yourself. On top of that.... As quiet as it's kept, a lot of women...through nature or conditioning...actually PREFER men in charge and being in power. It took me years to realize that. They love strength and courage by NATURE, regardless of what "sounds" fair and good. No matter what they may SAY out of their mouths, you can look at the GLEAM in a woman's eyes when you defend her or stand up to somebody for her when she was too afraid to do it for herself, and how ATTRACTED she is to you for doing that. That alone will make you realized that for whatever reason you want to put on it, some women WANT you in charge and in power! So as long as White men are playing the Patriarchal "macho" role...if we were to make our community Egalitarian...a lot of our women would actually LEAVE our community (as some are doing NOW because it's too "matriarchal" for them) and go to a community where the men are actually dominant and in charge!

They don't have to state what the world sees is plain and obvious now. When Donald Trump said men with money can do and say anything they want to women and they'll even let him grab them by the pussy -and over 53% of White women STILL voted for him, the entire world saw the type of loyalty that White racism can generate. The fact that poor White folks can continue to support politicians who do NOTHING for them and KEEP them poor...as long as they keep Black people "poorer" or out of their neighborhoods or locked up is another testimony to the pull and power of White racism. Trump is not only exposing the psychosis of White America and their racism and bigotry to the entire world but SHOW CASING it....lol.

ProfD While you're right that FDR didn't make a lot of Black people "wealthy"...those anti-poverty programs weren't designed to make you rich. They were designed to do what they said...take you out of poverty. Provide government relief (funds), government housing, and commodity foods to sustain you and your family until you get back on your feet and can support yourself adequately. A lot of the public housing FDR build was initially segregatd or simply didn't allow Black residents in them period. His wife Elanor pushed him to DE-segregate some of those buildings. ((Behind a great man is often an even GREATER woman???)) It's not so much that he TARGETED Black folks with his programs or gave us Reparations....lol...but he targeted the poor and needy Americans and Black folks who were among them got the benefit from that. I'll take that over nothing...lol.

One of the reasons THEY are more willing to do this and are indeed more likely to do this is because White people...both male AND female...have no problem sacrificing their lives and livelihood for the System of Racism. They'll put their careers on hold to support a spouse. They'll put their dreams on hold. They'll switch religions...or atleast pretend to. Hell, they'll even switch GENDERS and SEX in the name of helping to further the System of Racism. They're looking at the BIGGER picture which is preserving and promoting the racist system, so they'll submit their personal dreams and goals to further THAT end.

Mel I'm honestly asking because I don't know or remember any high-profile couples in which white women fall back. Usually, they are building wealth alongside their husbands, and it is public knowledge. Building together is why those women leave the marriage with half the wealth. Again, their goals align. How about.... Donald Trump and Melania What does Melania do besides smile and fashion clothes? George W. Bush and Laura What did Laura Bush do besides smile and point G-Dubya in the right direction when he get's lost in public events? Infact, just look at most of the Republican politicians and the role their wives play period. Stepford Wives for REAL for real..... Oh, btw....to answer your question: No, Cory doesn't NEED a wife, domestic, girlfriend or any other partner to accomplish his goals and do great things but it makes him more relatable to the voters. A man who has a wife and kids has gone through things and can relate to things that a perpetually single childless man couldn't conceive. It's not so much one is better than the others....but one provides more EXPIENCE than the other and that experience gives you more knowledge and empathy to your constituents and what they may be going through.

ProfD While both China and Russia have ethnic minorities who aren't middle class, they're content with their way of life. Their "minorities" tend to look just like or almost like them. The people THEY call "minorities" in their society may just have a slight tribal or religious difference going back centuries ago and it just stuck to them. But trust, almost none of their official minorities are actual BLACK PEPOLE...lol. The Russians and Chinese are so cold-blooded, they don't even have a MULATTO/COLORED class...lol. Because our people tend to have a native population everywhere; so what happened to them???? Franklin D. Roosevelt served as POTUS from 1933-1945. All FDR had to do was provide white men with a better quality of life post-depression I'm going to go out on a limb on this one and say that I believe FDR was one of the best presidents for Black Americans this side of Lincoln. He did help a lot of us financially through his anti-poverty programs. And his wife Elanor was VERY friendly towards AfroAmericans and encouraged her husband to promote benefits and programs that helped our people. I'm not saying he was a savior...but economically speaking he probably was the best President WE as AfroAmericans have had so far.

ProfD It's already been proven several times over that Black folks can hold public offices. Winning is easy. Being effective takes it to another level. It depends on the goal. If the goal of the average Black politician is a fat pay check and good health insurance...then they ARE being effective, lol. Party affiliation is how most politicians get into public office. The old "swith-a-roo" may work once you get IN office but you can't turn Independent and expect for the party who helped you get in or even those same partisan VOTERS who voted for you originally...to vote you back in come election day. Mel "Behind Every Man is a Good Woman" is a saying that resulted from white supremacy and patriarchy, which forced women into gender roles where she was an unpaid laborer handling all the tasks so that all a man had to do was "think." Keep in mind that I said there is SOME truth behind that saying. I didn't say it was ALL good...lol. Although it may have sexist origins.....that saying doesn't necessarily diminish the natural talents and intelligence of the woman, it just FOCUSES us on the man instead. To your point it does reinforce the belief that the woman should back up or be behind the man. However in a society that is ALREADY Patriarchal and founded on seeing women as the "weaker sex".
