  1. That is my one complaint about HBO. they also seem to have a penchant for homosexual sex scences and gratuitious violence. I don't have showtime. You are more of a free spirit a characteristic I admire. I have grown into being a free spirit as I have gotten older, but this comes at a price because American society is not optimized for this characteristic... indeed it is designed to crush it (is that why you are in Australia?)
  2. Does he have exposure "down under?" Partnerships can help both parties; you just have figure out how -- and that really is the challenge. You both have the temperaments and the knowledge to make one work if you both tried.
  3. I never buy "bleeding edge" technology like the latest phone when if first comes. I never understood people who wait on lines to buy the latest apple phone. I can afford to buy the cheapest laptop is a poor i investment for me. I tried that once and regretted it as i had to replace after a year purchased a much nicer one and ut was the best investment in technology i ever made. I recently cut back on media myself rarely watch TV. When i do i limit myself to an hour. I read with the extra time. I dont care about brands either. I do eat fast food on road trips or when im out of town, but when im at home i cook. Still I know im not immune, this is why i try to ignore mass media.
  4. And the plot thickens... I read The Guardian's article. The ads they serve really do a diservice to the site. Many are click bait to even worse material. I hope the ads you see on this site are not nearly that bad. The following quite, from their site, is on point, but if I know anything about Americans The Guardian will need to serve thier shitty ads for a long time to come "Rampant disinformation, partisan news sources and social media's tsunami of fake news is no basis on which to inform the American public in 2020. The need for a robust, independent press has never been greater, and with your support we can continue to provide fact-based reporting that offers public scrutiny and oversight. Our journalism is free and open for all, but it's made possible thanks to the support we receive from readers like you across America in all 50 states."
  5. It would be great if y'all could do a project together. He is a very down to Earth Brother. I have not really heard from him since I shot that video in an Atlanta mall Almost 5 years ago.
  6. You do mean the world of the common man and of the elites, or do you mean the worlds of people of European descent and of African descent?
  7. Yes I would like to, but i have no idea what "amfrobian" means. @Kareem I've had similar conversations with others about homesteading. Atlantic city was discussed as the property values have gone down and there are some good deals
  8. https://aalbc.com/authors/author.php?author_name=Lloyd+Strayhorn @Kareem this forum is comprised if serval forums. The "culture" forum always ho more participation than the book forum.
  9. Yes, if he is ousted before the end of his tem you win. I don't think strong convictions is the sign of a closed mind. When you fail to change your mind when evidence proves you wrong, that is not a strong conviction that is stupidity.
  10. Absolutely! Sure Black people have some responsibility but the powers aligned against us are very, very powerful and effective. You asked how many pairs of Air Jordans do I own. I have never brought a single pair. I clearly remember thinking people were fools for buying them -- paying $100 for a pair while making minimum wage or doing something illegal to get them. But poor kids were heavily targeted. I never really though much of Jordan for lending his name to such an enterprise, but I'm sure it helped him become very wealthy. If we were properly educated we would much less likely fall prey to marketers -- but none of us are totally immune. 12 years ago i ditched wall street as you did and have not a full time job since. I know you left that world long before i did. Perhaps it took me longer to come to the same conclusions you did.
  11. Most may not realize Bryant published books through his company Granity Studios, which focused on creating new ways to tell stories around sports:
  12. Listening with a open mind is really difficult.
  13. Yeah that is the reasoning you find in Murdoch's publications and learn in business schools. Cigarettes are only made because of demand, toxic mortgages were made then converted into worthless securities because of demand. Africans were kidnapped and sold into slavery because of your so called "demand." Sure, @Delano it is all the consumer's fault.... can't you see beyond the capitalist's rhetoric?
  14. @Kareem I'd assume Murdoch like the rest of the other wealthy climate change deniers do so because of financial interest; Investments in oil or other industries that are threatening their wealth.
  15. I doubt she'd admit it LOL!
  16. A sign of intelligence is the ability to explain complicated things in simply.
  17. Wait, what? You got banned for reporting a figure that is not even in dispute? Can you post the link to the Wikipedia article where they refused to allow you to post this? I will post it myself -- that is crazy! Here is some detail on why the Wikipedia bias is so damaging: https://aalbc.com/blog/index.php/2014/02/06/wrong-goodreads-google-wikipedia/
  18. True Dat. You're on a roll my Brother! I think even Cynique would be proud 🙂
  19. @Delano regarding CP5. Well that is a relief. I've never taken AALBC off Facebook. I use Facebook to post links back to AALBC and I haven't even done that in over a week. If someone comments on a link I posted I will reply (something you did not too long ago). As I said, I don't use Facebook for personal reasons at all, nor do I consume any news or content there -- which was the point, something I thought you understood. Then be clearer my Brother.
  20. The difference is MLK posed enough of a threat to be assassinated. Obama will live a long, prosperous life. The article you linked to was deep. I definitely need to watch the videos and film. I had my own experience with racially biases Wikipedia editors too.
  21. Ruppert Murdoch is using his media properties to push the claim that the fires are natural. Scientists say the unprecedented scale of the inferno is a direct result of climate change exacebated by man.
  22. Have you previously shared info about Ganlodo here @Azacotogan? If not post a link.
  23. So BLM has played itself out on Twitter already? Sounds like all the complaints I read about the Lipstick Alley discussion forum. Doing this draws a lot of attention and therefore quite lucrative, as a result White folks use their best and brightest minds to make money creating the platforms and riling us up for their amusement. We've always been great at entertaining white folks.
  24. @Azacotogan welcome to the forum. That ship sailed long ago. All we can do is try to reclaim was was lost, but this is very difficult. Culturally ADOS, FBA, whatever you wanna call the descendants of enslaved Africans in America, are so different we are at often at odds with each other. Amazingly, we still collectively embrace everything our oppressor creates at the expense of what we have ccreated. All the Black people on Twitter proclaiming Black independence and empowerment are a joke, for they only serve to elevate Twitter.
