California Reparations Leaves Out Cash

Leave it up to Black bootlicks and shills to undermine Black folks.

Cash payments to FBA/ADOS should be a cornerstone of any type of reparations package

Too many Black politicians and entertainers are sellouts and the most dangerous folks among us.

Those Black folks work overtime upholding the system of white supremacy at the expense of our people.😎

I agree that any Reparations package should include cash, but I actually think many of these "Reparations debates" and "Reparations Studies" are huge DISTRACTIONS put out by the Establishment itself to further divide AfroAmericans and cause conflict.

Why?

First of all STATES aren't in any position to give AfroAmericans Reparations.
For a simple reason...they don't have the money to do so.
The FEDERAL government is the one who upheld the institution of slavery.....not the states.
The only time the states upheld Slavery was during the Civil War when the Confederacy actually acted outside of the Federal Government forming a government of their own.

BTW....California didn't even participate in Chattel Slavery...what the hell are THEY even debating about?

You don't have ONE STATE giving out Reparations money.
If that happened every nicca in the Union would flock to California for a check....and they KNOW this...maaaaaan, lol.
It's not going to happen in Cali.
They're playing games.

Secondly.....
All this talk of Reparations yet NOT ONE CHECK has been written.
Notice that?
Despite all the talk and debate and Black folks arguing over who should get what and how long your ancestors have been here ect.....fighting over money they haven't gotten.
Not one bill has been passed to actually dole out Reparations and not one check has been written, yet Black folks are arguing with eachother over it.

One Black man with a talk show will come on and diss 100 Black politicians and call them all kinds of coons and sell-outs.....over something NOBODY has even gotten yet.
Black folks fighting Black folks.....literally over NOTHING.

That's telling me that those who are generating this mess know EXACTLY what they're doing by constantly holding "studies" and "hearings" and making announcements about them to draw big crowds.

It's designed to sew discord and cause confusion.

Correct. Ideally, the federal government should be making reparation payments because it collects money from every state all of whom benefitted from slavery in one way or another.

I think the brother in the video made a really good argument for the size and distribution of reparations payments.

of course, the poor white people out there will fight tooth and nail to make sure this doesn’t happen. Despite all the advantages afforded white people in this nation, some still come up extremely short similarly, despite the oppression, the legacy of racism, a centuries, of slavery, there are Black people who do exceedingly well.

This discrepancy will need to be reconciled.

when I was a kid, I saw white boys coming to college with new cars, getting married and having lavish weddings paid for by their parents, having their parents give them a down payment on a nice house or buying it out right for them. I’ve always wondered how they were able to pull that off?

When you hear about how white folks were given 160 acres of land, and how wealth has transferred through the generations. The opportunity for the generational wealth that was denied Black people is really what this is all about.

They should’ve just given us those damn 40 acres and we wouldn’t be having to deal with this today.

this needs to be federal legislation.

I do not see a discrepancy.  Poor white folks need to do whatever it takes to change their condition.  It's definitely not the fault of Black folks.

The fact that some Black folks have succeeded despite the system of racism white supremacy does not mitigate the debt that America owes to FBA/ADOS for slavery.

Correct.

When slavery was abolished, white folks were given land and other sh8t as a starter to success.

White men who fought in wars and/or served in the military  were given all types of goodies and giveaways in the forms of a GI Bill and favorable loans and mortgage rates to build their lives.

Way before education became another big business, white folks were getting degrees for cheap.

In addition to the profits generated from 400 years of slavery (forced labor), white folks have been helping themselves while telling Black folks to pull themselves up by the bootstraps.

I cannot think of too many people who are willing to work for FREE. That means if our ancestors put in work and didn't get compensated properly, we need to collect it.

Again, cash payments is just one part of the reparations package.😎

@ProfD your title is incorrect. California has not provided reparations. The Black Caucus of California in suggesting bills to be made into laws has not placed money in them.

@Pioneer1 I am no lawyer but I oppose your position on states. States do not have the money that their actions in the past garnered from black people in them, in the past. But, States do owe reparations to the black populaces in them. I can use New York State easily. The federal government never legalized slavery, never. and the usa is a federal system which means that which the federal government doesn't put into law is states providence and all states old enough enacted  slavery laws. the 1799 law of ny state. So I argue states role in enslavement is larger because the federal government never made slavery legal. And your position on federalism is misplaced. Modern USA is a federalist but before the war between the states, 1865, the usa was more a collection of states than a strong federal goverment. Remember the reason why the confederacy had advantages in the beginning was how small + unprepared+ impotent the federal army was. I asked all members in this group about federalism and only one  answered..

https://aalbc.com/tc/topic/10616-black-federalism-in-the-usa/

You like so many blacks in the usa are federalist. But the usa wasn't built that way and modern federalism was non existent in any form before the 1900s. And the reason being that the states didn't want the federal government that powerful but the war between the states was a watershed moment for federalism.

@Troy  + all others

I have in my posts below a reasoning for black elected officials disinterest in giving money.  The black family that black elected officials + black communal advocates fought for, in the end, sold all the land back to whites. Were they free to ? yes. But the advocate flat out admitted he was unhappy with the black clan for that and I think that goes into the black elected representatives bills or proposals.

But as I asked in this very online community , many times, Do you realize your view of reparations isn't the same as another black person.

The problem is one that transcends all issues with the black populace in the usa. The problem is destination.

Most Black people, yes including clarence thomas, want a better black populace, a stronger black community, their black individual life bettered.

BUT, but the problem is the consensus from the black populace in the usa to what the destination is , is not the same in vital ways, in ways that make planning very difficult.

If you have three black people and they have to make a plan on reparations and

one say, black people in the usa don't need reparations (which millions of black peopel say)

one say, black people need money to leave the usa(which millions of black people say)

one say, black people need government programs with no money (which millions of black people say)

what plan can be made between the three?  The answer is none.

My point is the answer is for black groups in florida to be given a choice. The federalism desire by some blacks suggests plans that are bound to fail because they assume a universalism in the black populace in the usa that has never existed. I repeat most free black when the usa was founded fought against the USA's creation. Does anybody black living today not realize what that means. Many black people today still despise the usa, they don't want to be part of the place. I didn't say all, I didn't say all, but many, and many meaning millions.

The answer to everything is in parts.

To that what does the black populace of AALBC want with AALBC, what do we want to see with this website in the future.

Until the Feds actually get involved, I'm not going to take any TALK of Reparations from a state level seriously.

The only time I'd take them serious is when they actually start sending out checks to their AfroAmerican residents, which I doubt will happen anytime soon.

Yes.
An exercise in mass hysteria and mind control....lol.

Remember a few years ago we were joking about if you identified as a White person on your census form or something....you'd get a "special package" in the mail with access to bank accounts, underground shopping malls, and grocery stores with good foods at low prices, etc....lol.

I'm almost certain that among some privileged White elites....what I just described isn't too far off the mark.

When you hear about how white folks were given 160 acres of land, and how wealth has transferred through the generations. The opportunity for the generational wealth that was denied Black people is really what this is all about.

They should’ve just given us those damn 40 acres and we wouldn’t be having to deal with this today.

Well, to keep it real WE TOO had a lot of land.
More than just 40 acres a piece but MILLIONS of acres.....

And we kept it from Reconstruction right up to the 1920s and 1930s before a lot of our people decided to SELL the land and move up to big northern cities thinking they could get out of having to farm and maintain it.

If we had more unity and vision, we could have built more of our own cities ON those lands instead of selling them off just to get some cash in our pockets.

We definitely need Reparations but we as a community we need some sound financial counseling to ago along with it.

this needs to be federal legislation.

100%
They are the only institution in the U.S. with enough money to accurately compensate us.

A $50,000 check to every Black person in California is NOT Reparations.
We are owed MILLIONS per individual...for generations to come.....along with free healthcare, land, and other benefits that only the Federal government can provide.

@richardmurray

Well can we atleast agree that the Federal Government can TAKE THE LEAD in Reparations?

And after they make their move, each state can follow suit in any Reparations deal we make with them individually.

We both know, gardless of who likes it, The federal government of the usa today can take the lead. Said federal government has the resources.  The problem is the complexities of reparations make it , like immigration in all earnest, a hard policy to see through. The federal government of the usa was never designed to be the force of power in the usa that i think many blacks want it to be. The constitution clearly sees the federal government as primarily a protector of the states, but not a guide to the states, and that legal reality makes it hard.

Interesting how you speak of the black populace in the usa, making a deal with each state after the federal government's move. the black populace in the usa isn't a community.

Reparations should be the primary agenda and religion of FBA/ADOS folks.

IMO, pursuing reparations with religious fervor would be a better use of energy than trying to figure out what time heaven opens and how to get in there.

In fact, reparations would allow FBA/ADOS to create paradise right here in America. Check out Dubai.😁

Jews got reparations for the holocaust. Since 1948, the Jewish state of Israel receives billions of dollar and weapons and everything else every year from the US. Same goes for Japan.😎

@ProfD remember, ISrael + japan serve a militaristic purpose for the usa. That is the reason the usa made israel, and yes, the usa made israel not the white jews, and why the usa continue to finance israel, the first base for the usa in the oil rich area called the middle east,  and the usa funded japan only to stop russia from winning japan which was bound to happen unless the usa's money stepped in and then later as an agent for east asia which has military rivals: china+ russia.

No doubt. There's a mutually beneficial arrangement between the US and its allies... Israel and Japan.

Regardless, that has nothing to do with the debt owed to FBA/ADOS as it relates to the USA's greatest sin.

However lets be real about this......

When the Jews and Japanese got their Reparations they KNEW what to do with it.
They have plenty of thriving businesses not only in Japan and Israel but in the United States and around the world.

Ofcourse we deserve HUNDREDS of times more of what they got, but the wisest of White folks could easily ask the question like Jayo Felony asked:

jayofelony_foxla.jpg?w=584

"I can give it to ya but what you gonna do with it?"

Would we be able to do atleast HALF of what Israel and Japan is doing with the money they're getting from the U.S.?

Or would most of it go into weaves, weed, liquor, vehicles, back child support, and court fees?

What are we doing with the money that we DO have at our disposal like the over 1 trillion dollars flowing through our community -as a gauge of how wisely we'd spend and invest our Reparations money?

*

Or should any of that even matter......
Just shut up,  cut the check, and let each Black man, woman, and child decide for THEMSELVES what they want to do with THEIR money. 🤨

I wouldn't talk against a PROPER Reparations package.

But what I WOULD rally against a "California Type" Reparations offer that would give each Black person a measly $10,000 check in exchange for agreeing that it would be the FINAL compensation allotted to Black folks period and would close the lid on all Reparations talk -in the words of Dr. Umar Johnson:

@ProfD

Well, in your opinion it is mutually beneficial. I can easily argue the usa's manipulations and guidance of Japan+r israel are only beneficial to the usa.

But the reason white jews or japanese are mentioned is because of what the usa government gave them. But my point is that the black DOS populace which is over 40 million people is of an uncomparable scale to the white jew who is 8 million or the japanese in the usa who are a million.

I will restate , if the Black DOS populace was 8 million like the white jew or one million like the japanese I think profd you will see an entirely positive financial community that already received reparations suitable to your desires.

But, a whole lot more DOSers exist in the usa than 8 million or 1 million.

More people in any populace mean consensus is harder in that populace, and consensus is necessary when a communal goal like reparations is in the works.

And I end with , you have stated you have a view of the usa far more positive than me. so that creates variances in how we see the road of black people in the usa or the relationship of black people in the usa to its federal government or its whites. But, the oldest heritage for black people in the usa is internal disunity concerning the usa. I repeat most free blacks fought against the government you think so highly of to be born. I think the black populace in the sua has always had alot of internal variance or little consensus concerning the usa.

I've said time and time again but I'm not sure if people are listening.....lol.

We can give OURSELVES Reparations!

There are enough Black folks in Congress and in executive and legislative positions around this nation that if we were unified we didn't have to sit around begging White folks to do "studies" and understand the importance of remedying Slavery.
All we had to do is just figure out what we want and sit down and whip up a bill and push it and push it until it's passed.

Think that couldn't happen?

Trust me.....there are MILLIONS of White folks and Latinos who would support something like that just out of curiosity and in hopes that THEY TOO may be able to pull off something like that themselves.
They'd support us with the expectation that we'd support some of their initiatives.

In another thread I talked about how I started getting into political activism in my 30s and got some things passed and people put in office.
I would get on the microphone at rallies and meeting and CUSS OUT White folks and talk about racism and injustice and to my surprise a lot of White folks....even older ones...came up to me to shake my hand for "telling it like it is".
A lot of them from the 60s and 70s are actually dismayed at how DOCILE so many Black folks have become.

I agree that there hasn't been a leader on Minister Farrakhan's scale among todays young Black leadership but I would actually disagree that there is NO leadership today.

I think one of the problems is there is TOO MANY "leaders" and "spokes persons" in the AfroAmerican community today each with their own selfish agendas pulling many of our people in different and often opposing directions.

Umar Johnson is pulling you one way.
Al Sharpton is pulling you another.
Tariq Nasheed and his FBA movement is pulling you another.
Then you have the Hebrew Israelites and their leaders.

The AfroAmerican community is far more divided today than it was back in the 50s and 60s where you basically only had the Nation of Islam, the Black Church, and the streets.

richardmurray

yeah farrakhan wasted that march with no plan, whatsoever. him and the others told over a million black men to come and only could chastize or tell them what they already know, not have a plan. And white power wasn't why, it was as often in modern times, poor black leadership

I wouldn't say there was NO plan.
Just not a lot of follow up.

He told Black men to go back and get involved in their community and get politically involved as well as register to vote.
Find your children, get involved in their lives and focus on building Black businesses.

I know...vague instructions...but SOUND instruction none the less.

The question is how many Black men actually went back and DID what they were instructed?

Troy

did you go to the MMM?

Absolutely!

Where did you get the 2 million number.  I was not there, but 2 million is a BIG number, an order of magnitude more than the 250K who are estimated to have attended the March on Washington.

Admittedly, I got it from the Nation of Islam themselves.
I went to the March and by 8 or 9 o'clock it was announced on the mall that we had already reached 1 million!

The media put the number at around 400,000 but I honestly believe well over 1 million Black folks attended that event because I know the White media does lie and like to downplay Black achievements.

If 2 million Black people decided to do something together that would be powerful and unprecedented, there would need to be an umbrella organization to coordinate all the other organizations.  2 Million Black people could seed the organization with an initial $500 contribution and easily raise a billion dollars.  What would we do?  Fight for reparations?

If 2 million Black folks in America were truly united:

1. We wouldn't have to fight for Reparations we would actually GIVE OURSELVES Reparations....literally by forcing through the necessarily Federal Legislation for it.

2. However if 2 million Black folks were truly united we WOULDN'T NEED Reparations.
It would just be the icing on a much bigger cake that we would build for ourselves.

Although we DESERVE Reparations and I expect that at some point in the future we WILL get Reparations.....the fact is many of our people ARE looking for a "hand out".
They don't want to work and build wealth the old fashioned way so they're using the Reparations movement to get a check and some quick cash to give right back to the Whites, Asians, Arabs, and others they are CURRENTLY spending their money with.

If we were TRULY united and on point then we would build banks, businesses, and industries that would generate far more money than what we'd get in even in a Reparations package.

I will defend the million man march in, the black populace in the usa is circa 50 million people. 1 million is not even ten percent, so I don't think the million man march called for all black people to attend, the idea was for a large group of black people to attend.  and in defense of the black populace in the usa, i think the people the masses in the black populace did their part. the problem was the black leadership showed its poverty of quality. not having desire to guide that momentum.

@Troy the tragedy in the million man match was how many black men, plus black people, i recall black women publicly being proud of black men, black children being proud, at least where i was offline,  who embraced the comradery, embraced the communalism, left disheartened when black leadership showed its lack of positive quality. Either None of the black leaders for or in and about the million man march expected the turn out or they never were going to plan anything anyway.

in defense of @Pioneer1  numerical statement, I can tell you from first hand accounts it was an order of magnitude more. It was more than a million. easy. and that goes back to my painful dislike of black leadership during that moment. The black populace were hoping in washignton with all those elected black officials whose offices are less than ten miles away, such a showing would come with their end, but at always black elected officials have shown their poverty and it has no excuse. I know people in here talk about the fiscal wealthy's influence, but that is a  historically invaldated defense to elected officials impotency

To your point about black leadership @Pioneer1 I oppose your position. he offered nothing. I realize that maybe most black people in this online community and maybe most black people in the usa grew or feel they grew up in a local black community that is full of black individual failure but I didn't. My local black community's problem was the white man it is that damn simple. Black people voted, owned homes, worked worked worked, all that B.. what you call advise or instructions black men in my local black community were doing before the match  pioneer.ok.  now maybe in yours it was all black statian hell but it mine it was not. , white man has power, the power you get with guns, the power to do regardless of education or financial value. Black leaders don't provide what local black communities like mine needed. maybe your local black community needed all that individual call stuff, but mine didn't ok.

And i oppose your position, two million black people are less than ten percent of the black populace in the usa. Don't underrate the size of the black populace in the usa, it isn't the white jews. it is far larger. The KKK at its height had tens of millions. now if ten million black people were united under an organization then... that can lead to making changes, but not two or one million black people.
