Crossing the Digital Divide Black Pioneers in the High-Tech World, Ebony Magazine, June 2000 I found this gem of an article on Google's site. I tried to find this article on Ebony's website but I could not. It remains unclear to me why Ebony does not make their digital archives available online, directly, on their own website.

Man in simply researching the articles I've been publishing lately it is just simply astonishing how much we don't know. I just finished reading an article about Rev. Has anyone ever considered what all this negative/violent programming does to one's psyche? I can't image there is no adverse impact. I think about this as I watch HBO's programming from True Blood, The Wire, The Soporanos, Game of Thrones, Broadwalk Empire, etc all this evil can't be good for you; can it? What do you all think about this meme? For some time now, well over a decade I've been thinking about the term "diversity" in the content of what it means to Black people. Basically the assumption is that if something is diverse Black people are included, but this is not true. I recall reading a brochure about a private school my kid went to, in which the school proudly described themselves as 20% diverse, but my kid was the only Black child in her class of 40. The same was true in most of the corporations I've worked for, on paper they were very diverse, but that diversity was not evident by the number of African Americans in the offices or cubicles. …
