  1. I think folks in the Deep South have more to fear from American terrorism after the election... There is a higher concentration of Black people in the deep South than any other region in this nation. If they are on par with or in some cases OUT NUMBER the racists in thier community but still sit back and cry and play victim as a handful of racists burn their churches and vandalize thier property....it's hard to feel sorry for them. I've lived in both Georgia and Lousiana and I KNOW how violent Black folks down there can be toward EACHOTHER, so it's not like they're a bunch of saints and pacifists. Again, if they want to lay down and crying "Why....oh why" with snot running out their noses while White racists ride around attacking them, then.......
  2. I'll tell you why....... Black voters didn't come out for Hillary for the same reason most of them didn't come out for Trump...NEITHER ONE of them really offered us anything! Atleast Trump would mention the Black community in a rather facetious if not condescending way in passing: "And the Blacks...ya know....the Blacks have it so rough now" "I mean come on, ya live in the ghetto and have rotten schools, what the hell have you got to lose" Now does Trump give a damn about "the Blacks"? HELL no....and no one with good sense expects him to. But Hillary Clinton never offered a decent alternative She never offered the Black community anything of substance like solid plans to rebuild the inner cities, promises of universal healthcare, or promises to bring back good paying manufacturing jobs to urban areas, ect...... All we heard from her during her campaign was just more of the same rhetoric we hear from most Democrats today which is a focus on women's issues, LGBT issues, and at the very end if at all Black issues are lumped under the label of "diversity" along with others like Muslims and Latinos. Black people had a right NOT to be very enthused about the prospect of her becoming President. Her apathy and indifference to Black America was louder than Trump's bigotry.
  3. Well, my vote has been cast; though Hillary did not exactly need it as she will win my district and state by a healthy margin I'm sure. CBS reported that Virgina, Texas, and New York were are at risk of a terrorist attack by al Qaeda before the election. There were no details or instructions on what we should do in reaction. Cynical me says, CBS are desperate and will do anything for clicks. I think folks in the Deep South have more to fear from American terrorism after the election...
  4. Hillary did not make herself human until her concession speech, where you could see the genuine hurt and disappointment she obviously felt. Pioneer, Blacks did come out to Hillary she got 88% of the Black vote. I have not seen the figures on how many people that represents. If you have them please post a link; it would be interesting to see those figures. Democrats have had the Black vote on lock for years, why promise us anything? Obama never did and he is Black. Cynique, I'm not sure the 3rd party votes did Hillary in. It is not clear how many of those voters would have voted for Clinton without the 3rd party option. Besides in places like OH and NC, even if Hillary got all of the 3rd party votes, it would not have made a difference in the results. But as you suggest it was not just one thing that hurt Hillary. I voted for her, but she did not need my vote, she won NY by 1.5 million votes. I almost not did bother to vote for that reason, but changed my mind at the last minute, and am glad I did because I contributed to the popular vote giving Hillary that "win," which at least shows what the majority of people wanted, for what it is worth... We will never know who would have been better for Black people. I never had that much faith in Hillary, and I don't believe it is possible for Trump to do as much damage as many Black people believe he will do. Time will tell.
  5. Hey Pioneer, you should listen to the hard left. My local NPR affiliate WNYC, had plenty of people complaining about a rigged election -- there have street protests with people complaining that the election was invalid. The was not a Republican win; this was a Trump win and he won despite the Republicans and probably because of the Democrats.
  6. I actually think we are just fine. We got killers in the South, lol. Seriously, I think this is the last hurrah for White America. They officially done themselves in. They have everything they want and once Obama leaves office, they will no longer have anyone to blame for their problems. They have it all. They just shot off their nose to spite their face (Is that the saying?)
  7. Come out to Sankofa Video, Books & Café this Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at 2 p.m. for an afternoon with author and screenwriter Robert J. Williams. He will read excerpts from his book, “Strivers and Other Stories,” which recently won the Washington Writers' Publishing House Fiction Prize. This short story collection is set primarily in the black American south between the 1920s and the present day, harnessing the voices of teachers and doctors, train porters and factory workers, soldiers and musicians -- all striving towards their versions of the American dream. With a mix of humor and heart, satire and sentiment, this collection captures their everyday struggles for better lives and their hopes for promising futures. There will be a discussion with the author immediately following the reading. Robert J. Williams is the recipient of four Larry Neal Writers’ Awards given by the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities for three of his short stories and one screenplay. He has been a participant in the Hurston/Wright Writers Conference at Howard University, the Voices of Nation’s Arts Workshop at the University of San Francisco and most recently, was selected for the 2016 Callaloo Literary Journal of the African Diaspora Creative Writing Workshop held at Oxford University in England.
  8. The question is which Donald Trump will be leading the country. I'd he takes a more conciliatory position then he may be lose his supporters. While his detractors may not believe In the new Donald Trump
