  1. As I've mentioned before, Daniellegfny, cannot read that well. The San Francisco Examiner story he linked to is from 2014, eight friggin' years ago! And the group that was apparently handing out crack pipes, the Urban Survivors Network, was a local group based in the Tenderloin District, not attached and completely unaffiliated with any presidential administration. Many of these groups, some of which are still around in other areas, consist of former drug abusers who are trying to reduce the rate of infections and diseases among those still using. But when it comes to Daniellegfny, he never lets truth - or available facts - get in the way of his hysterical bullchit. No, the Biden Administration is not funding crack pipes There seems to be a whole lot of compulsive and deliberate lying going on in this Discussion forum. Pathological lying, also known as mythomania and pseudologia fantastica, is the chronic behavior of compulsive or habitual lying for a definitive reason. In many cases on here, this lying aims to make a cheap political point which can be easily refuted. Damn, grow the f--k up.
  2. I buy paper books. I know many who do. But I think paper based books industry will not include retail sales. I think the future of paper based books is in libraries, or with specific communities with publications that cater to them. Yes, I know examples exists of fiction/magazines/newspapers/perodicals that statistically show financial growth or at least stability. But overall I think the paper based book industry while it will grow will not grow in the direct sales way. Whereas the same books in ebook or audiobook, will grow. So thoughts for all the authors /artists in this group THE ARTICLE https://aalbc.com/tc/profile/6477-richardmurray/?status=1822&type=status A discussion on Ebony MAgazine AALBC Author series idea for authors in this community
  3. This should thrill “pro-life” conservatives. It appears the goal of this grant is to save lives. “All lives matter” right? “In a first-of-its-kind federal grant to be distributed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, a branch of HHS, dozens of organizations across the country would be able to spend the money over three years on a preapproved list of resources, including referrals to treatment, infectious-disease testing kits, condoms, and vaccinations for hepatitis A and B. Also on the list: “safe smoking kits.” Typically, such kits include a rubber mouthpiece to prevent cuts and burns, brass screens to filter contaminants and disinfectant wipes, according to Harm Reduction International.”
  4. Outside of battles over the truth or falsehood in conspiracy , what does this issue mean to you @daniellegfny?
  5. The US government has long banned the use of federal funding for any type of drug paraphernalia. The current administration will not be overturning that position.😎
  6. Brotha Colin Kaepernick will one day be recognized as a modern day hero for AfroAmericans. He doesn't hate America nor the police. He took a stand (knee) against supremacy and police brutality in America. It took 4 years for the NFL to acknowlege what he was trying to tell them with his protest. Unfortunately, not enough AfroAmericans took a knee with him. Here we are almost 6 years after Kap took a knee and a former black head coach had to file a lawsuit in order for the NFL to admit it that it has a diversity problem within the coaching ranks. AfroAmericans need more heroes like Colin Kaepernick and Brian Flores. I hope they continue using their platform to usher in a new era of black activism. 😎
  7. I don't know. Purpose gives me meaning -and meaning is purposeful. So, knowing a purpose is what I'd like out of life. However, I like what @richardmurray shared - it was simple not easy - but very satisfying. He said, a human's purpose is to live on this planet." So if that's the purpose -I say "Hell Yeah!" ✊🏽
  8. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/yes-critical-race-theory-is-being-taught-in-public-schools/ar-AAM2t1V How about a School District https://thefederalist.com/2020/09/30/fairfax-va-school-district-spent-24000-on-ibram-kendi-books-for-u-s-history-classes/ That’s a game to disqualify information. Once you have the data you can further seek to verify it. Why should a liberal or leftists source be of higher value than a conservative on. That’s like saying Black publications aren’t as qualified as White. Here is a testimony by a teacher. https://dennisprager.com/watch-the-show/ 2/9/2022
  9. @daniellegfny source really do matter -- a lot. So does critical reading skills. As @Stefan wrote the article does not point out a single school teaching CRT (despite the headline). Did you just do a search without reading the article I actually read the article because it gave some insight into why folks are so bent out shape about this issue. The article was highly inflammatory filled with baseless conclusions. Here is a perfect example from the article "For example, when schools separate out white and black children in different classes, they are teaching children one of CRT’s core presuppositions: that white people, solely by virtue of their skin color, are oppressors, and that black and brown people, solely by virtue of their skin color, are victims — victims of white supremacy and the systemically racist system that prevents people of color (POC) from succeeding in America." In order to support the claim, "...schools separate out white and black children in different classes, they are teaching children one of CRT’s core presuppositions..." they link to a NY Post article: "A black mother is blasting her daughter’s Georgia elementary school for “segregating” African American students to give them “more opportunities” amid a series of controversies tied to critical race theory." Again, none of this suggests CRT is being taught, Who says separating white and black children is a core principle of CRT? Why is right wing media pushing that idea? Who invented the practice of separating of white and Black children? Who why are schools in places like NY more segregated than ever? This is crazy?!
