  1. No doubt about it, the mother is being charged because both she and her son are Black. When it comes to mental health issues, the community i.e. all parents. family members, friends and associates need to be honest and realistic when it comes to identifying potential psychopaths. 1) The mother knew her son had mental health issues. She had no business with having a gun in the house. 2) The child should have been in an alternative school that was better equipped to deal with his issues. Unfortunate things will happen to innocent people as long as we try to normalize folks with mental health issues and/or pretend they don't exist. Also, there is a reason the US has done away with mental heath facilities and built more prisons. That little boy is headed to prison one way or another. They're going to send his mom too. 2 for 1.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. Some guys have man caves, but I don't spend a lot of time doing the things one would do in one. There are a lot of stories in this photo. It really it tells me how much technology has improved in 20 years. I still use the same desk. It is probably the only thing I still use from back then. The room is only about 9 x 12. Technically one of three bedrooms in the apartment I rented in NYC right out of grad school.
  3. Deja Taylor, Mother of 6-Year Old School Teacher Shooter in Virginia, is Charged This case is heated! I believe that this case will cause a lot of controversy! I know that I have so many questions that concern me. My first thoughts are that, as a school teacher myself, how should I feel if the law does not offer the teacher adequate relief? She was shot by a kid and she could be dead right now! He shot her in her abdomen! What about other young school shooters such as the Parkland Shooter, was his mother charged? The videos that show the mother, Deja Taylor's comments, only makes me more shocked! She was interviewed by GMA and, well, I watched it multiple times because I just could not believe what I was hearing! Apparently, about a week prior to this school shooting, Deja Taylor, had to attend school with her son, EVERYDAY! But, she explained that she had gotten another doctor for her son, and did not have to attend classes with her son anymore. So, she stopped going a week before the shooting! On GMA, Deja explained that two days before the shooting, her son became angry with the teacher when he tried to explain something to her. The teacher told him to go to his seat, and Deja said that her son threw his hands up and 'ACCIDENTALLY' knocked the teachers cell phone out of her hand. But the teacher's lawsuit stated that the boy slammed the cell phone down so hard that it cracked. For this incedent the child was suspended. But obviously, he was allowed to come back to school and now, he did more than just throw his hands up and knock ther phone out of her hand! WHAT!? I was a teacher! When the teacher told him to go sit down--that is where I stopped listening to the rest of Deja's rendition! What!? The kid needed to explain something to the teacher to the point that he needed to get up out of his seat and approach her while she is also expected to instruct other students!? I just can't believe this. Our society rewards bad behavior. This is so crazy. Deja lost custody of ther son who his now in the custody of her father [grandfather?] and he was alos interviewed. He mentioned that he feels that if the shooter was White and the teacher was Black, then the attention this story is getting would not be as much. I am shaking my head. I absolutely understand what he is saying, however, the fact that the teacher was shot by a child, just shocks me. There is no excuse for this kind of situation. If a child is raped by a pedophile, I don't care whether the Devil is White or Black. And another question, well, again I have a lot of questions. Where is the father!? Why is the mother the only one charged with this crime? How in the world did a child that young get access to his mother's gun!? The mother said the child is ADHD and she describes is wild behavior. I hope that someone can imagine what I am thinking on this score! LOL.
  4. The statistics you are referring to only in a one year period. Besides White People kill more White People than Black People killing White People.
  5. No I don't live in NYC that's true. But if no more immigrants or refugees came after tomorrow for let's say a decade. Blacks in that city and urban areas across the country would be struggling with discrimination, lack of public investment, and poverty. Immigrants don't necessarily make it any worse. In fact they tend to work and later start businesses. Black people wrongly believe in representation and passivity in dealing with Democrats politically. Imagine if we would take to the streets around economic and social conditions the same way we approach police violence things would have to change. If we would put in place truly Liberal and Progressive Left politicians not Moderate Center Right Democrats like Eric Addams or others things would change. Instead when they can't fix problems it's easy to scapegoat immigrants and refugees.
  6. My suggestion of Blacks involvement is with the Continent wide struggle against White Racism... Blacks have a unique perspective often not shared or known by Continental Africans....We live in the belly of the beast. The Current struggle and ongoing violence in the Sudan is best addressed by through the AU..... for an immediate cessation of hostilities - AU PeaceKeeping Troops is our best bet...
  7. Someone tell me what the status is with the Green Comet. Can I take off this bent, folded and torn tin foil hat? I do not believe there are any aliens living among us. The vast distances between Earth and other stars is too much of a hurdle to overcome. And scientists and astronomers have concluded that the fastest an object with mass can travel - is the speed of light. But I do believe the Earth is undergoing major environmental changes and nothing can stop this from continuing. But no heavenly body, except the moon, can exert visible changes on Earth as it does with ocean tides. The sun can slam Earth with all sorts of radiation and geomagnetic storms as plasma erupts from the sun's surface. But unless it's gonna grow arms and yank our planet to its bosom, we're going to be okay.
  8. Six years old. What is that first grade? This little boy got a loaded gun from his house, safety off, carried to school in his Ninja Turtle back pack, pulled it out, aimed it at his teacher , pulled the trigger and shot her! Sorry, the mother, and the person she brought the gun from, should be imprisoned. Anyone remember being 6? How many people did you shoot to kill at that age. They better keep an eye on that little kid. He is dangerous.
  9. LOL! I didnโ€™t even know I wanted to be a journalist but I went on gathering, documenting and disseminating information major/minor events anyway. So yes, I agree with you - if you get a chance to live and age -you have a lot great stories to tell! And if youโ€™re really lucky you get to journey with some really interesting people. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  10. The Continuum is One....Agreed. So already you see you are not dealing with Two separate phenomenon. Now instead of seeing the Continuum as a Flat Line ....Imagine it is a Circle - where then is the Ends?? To Truly appreciate Physicality it is necessary for your mind to censor out information That lets you know that all is truly one thereby creating Duality The difference you see between darkness and light is limited to the ability of your eyes to perceive.....Should your eyes be capable of seeing in infrared then we would be talking about detecting (Energy)heat or cold juxtaposed one against the other.. All is Mental.... it is the organ of reception that dictates whether it be taste sound or color sometimes when the lines between censorship and organs of perception are crossed we taste shapes and see voices.....Synesthesia Reality is a product of your mind and its ability to censor how energy impacts on you To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour William Blake.
  11. My Goodness! @Stefan You certainly have unloaded a lot of information that I have never heard! I am so glad that you have shared this. I have never heard of 'the Wagner Group' but I am trying to understand. Even though I have not read about Russia having any activities in Sudan, I did believe it, but now, you just confirmed my suspicions. I have been reading about one of the leaders, the one in charge of the paramilitary force, Dagalo [i.e., Hemedti]. And I read that he did have something to do with the gold trade and Russia! I also read that his tribe is connected to the Baggara. I wa surprised to learn that he only has a 3rd grade level education and for this reason, leaders state that he could never become the supreme head. But if this is true, then maybe that is why he separated from the other leader. Maybe he has aspirations to be the leader, I wonder. Turn the violence tide in Sudan? I think that the Sudanians and many of the people in Africa have some level of religious beliefs too that may be used as an underlying justification for their cause and Black Americans may run into conflicts if this aspect is not considered. As for me, I don't believe it is easy to completely understand what is really going on by researcing on an individual basis. For example, what you have shared about Wagner, I would not even know where to look to even find this kind of information. So I am happy to be able to access this AALBC community. Thank you again!
  12. yes that is more accurate, but rather that confusion perhaps it is ignorance or being out of touch with your spiritual nature.
  13. The conflict in Sudan is just another example of the saddest truth that Black folks all over the planet are forced to fight each other in one way or another as instigated by the system of racism white supremacy. While I understand how and why it happens, still never ceases to amaze me that the continent of Africa continuously allows on-Black folks to exploit, corrupt and manipulate it. Considering the fact that AfroAmericans are powerless in dismantling the system of racism white supremacy, I guess their prayers and concerns will do about as much for Sudan and every other Black country under attack as it does here in America.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. These are some of the things that African-Americans have invented. And probably one of the biggest ones of our time is the cell phone. And I'm not even going to talk about the things that we have invented that were stolen from us. https://greaterdiversity.com/meet-henry-t-sampson-man-created-first-cell-phone-back-1971/ https://www.voanews.com/a/everyday-things-created-by-black-inventors/6480850.html#:~:text=The folding chair%2C gas mask, all invented by Black innovators. https://www.cbcfinc.org/blog/top-ten-black-inventors-you-didnt-know-about/?gclid=CjwKCAjwo7iiBhAEEiwAsIxQEaV8_cr_ein3GpnfC7rT7gzih0PxjxHcWIB92iqFoBuPf65p5x73BBoCnt0QAvD_BwE
  15. No, you are probably not the only one @Pioneer1. As you once posted at one point this was a suggestion of @Troy. However, I think that it is NOT important to engage with racist, but at times, it may be important to DEBUNK certain misconceptions that have been put throughout the Black community. Racist ideology no matter how incorrect, has been put throughout this world from time to time and I believe that if Black people do not address certain issues at times, it can be detrimental to humanity as a whole.
  16. In Minnesota blacks make up 6.5% of the population but commit 78% of all murder. Source: https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/ooc/news-releases/Pages/BCA-Releases-2021-Uniform-Crime-Report.aspx
  17. This debate is so silly. One would have to be extremely ignorant to not realize that black males are the largest criminals in the United States. We can debate why, or what caused this, we can debate that they idolize toxic gangster culture, the lack of father figures, low iq, their propensity for crime and violence. We could debate many many things...and that would be a great conversation ...but to argue that black people don't commit more crime than any other race in America is laughable. I don't even care why at this point...and this whole idea that 13% of the population commits 50% of all violent crime is not correct. When you remove black women, small black children, and black senior citizens the figure is more like 6% (black males aged 15-55) of the population is committing 50% of a violent crime.
  18. RIP Harry Belafonte! Harry Belafonte, 96, Dies; Barrier-Breaking Singer, Actor and Activist In the 1950s, when segregation was still widespread, his ascent to the upper echelon of show business was historic. But his primary focus was civil rights.
