If the NYC mayoral race were a novel, I'd deconstruct its architecture. From one election to the next, the narrative appears to shift away from focused policy debates, instead centering on the influence of religious groups. The major religious factions—Christian nationalists, Muslims, and Jews—each appear to compete for cultural and political dominance within the city. Amid this religious competition, the African diaspora in the U.S.—a powerful and often underestimated voting bloc—continues to be overlooked and taken for granted by both the candidates and the dominant religious groups. It sometimes seems as though these competing religious groups neglect the African diaspora’s influence. Ironically, the roots of these religions trace back to African science-based spirituality, yet this connection receives little attention in political or religious discourse. This dynamic played out in Election 2024: Christian nationalists—including evangelists, southern Baptists, and likely Catholics—rallied strongly behind DJT. Media and external influencers shifted the conversation away from local policy and toward polarizing international issues, like the U.S. stance on Israel and Palestine, further affecting how voters chose among domestic candidates. When reviewing 2025 election results, I noticed Mamdani was not the only Muslim elected, which raises the question of whether heightened coverage of Gaza led to greater sympathy and increased Muslim representation—a trend potentially extending into the midterms. Don’t misunderstand—I bear a grudge against all religions. Religious study should bring wisdom, spirituality, and growth, yet it often has the opposite effect. Religions lead to violence instead of joy and peace. Add patriarchy, and it’s chaos. Returning to the story's structure: Is this a narrative of democratic socialism rising in the heart of Wall Street? Consider Manhattan—the FINANCIAL CAPITAL OF THE WORLD—and its boroughs. Is the city that never sleeps really ready to move from capitalism to social ownership? Notably, NYC is the largest property owner according to Curbed.com, and the mayor administers these assets. Perhaps social ownership is the underlying story arc behind recent shifts. So, in this story—call it Project 2025 (S)—the central figure is a young millennial poised to challenge the reigning power and reclaim Manhattan for the people. Behind the scenes, religious struggle, human trafficking disguised as immigration reform, and pervasive surveillance set the chaotic stage for change in the city. Meet the Muslim and Arab Americans who won in US local elections Jews vote for Andrew Cuomo over Zohran Mamdani in NYC mayoral race | The Jerusalem Post "In addition to the Jewish vote, Mamdani lost the Catholic vote by a significant margin: 53% supported Cuomo and 14% backed Sliwa, against 33% for Mamdani. A decisive 75% of voters with no religious affiliation supported Mamdani." Here's a past look at Manhattan when DJT began buying up NY property in the early 70s(?) a look back at Palestinians, Israel, Libya, etc.4 points

Well, today is the American holiday where folks gather with family and friends in food, fun and fellowship. Eat, drink and enjoy however you so choose. I know the history behind *holidays* but I do not skip them for the aforementioned reasons. I use holidays as a time to further build and connect with my tribe. Every several years, my birthday happens to fall on Thanksgiving Day. When that happens, I don't have to cook anything for the family dinner. I'll pull up, eat, enjoy my folks and watch football games. Happy Thanksgiving to all.3 points

Talking to ProfD about the ratchet behavior of some of the people we knew and saw growing up brought back memories of Cooley High and scenes like this: I don't care what city you grew up in, we all knew a "Damon"....literally. Either somebody NAMED "Damon" or somebody who ACTED LIKE Damon. Mostly likely MULTIPLE....lol.2 points

lol! Yes the name speaks for itself. Braggadocio is unnecessary. Dude, the only erect penis I’ve ever seen is mine. Besides an locker room I’m not trying to look at another brother’s joint. were you that guy peeping over the urinal checking out my package the last time I was in Detroit? It is impossible for it to be a scientific fact. Just repeating it doesn’t make it so even the report you shared indicated this. This was not a peer reviewed study that you shared if you look at some of the peer reviewed studies they reflect how problematic it is collecting the data and drawing meaningful conclusions. One interesting thing I read is that folks with high BMI’s tend to have shorter penises because of the pad of fat at the base in their pelvis.2 points

No I'd gently "tap" it so as not to cause unnecessary trauma....lol. When it comes to sex with women of ANY age, there are considerations. With a 24 year old, you have to consider unwanted pregnancy. With an 84 year old, you have to consider who's going to pay if she ends up needing a hip replacement.2 points

There's another super moon brightening up the skies, this one being referred to as the "Beaver Moon", the last and largest one of 2025. This picture was taken from my back porch. All the other images that the camera reflected in the photo are weird. Like an astral Rorscharch ink blot test. Not to mention what looks like a second smaller moon. Hummm. zzzzzzzzzzzz2 points

Because we are not animals and many of us have some modicum of self-control. It seems your expectations of humans is pretty low. Perhaps I'm naive but, I would not be worried about my son banging my wife, or my wife cutting my head off -- I don't have that kind of mental energy. Virtually all the women I interact with are classy enough not to raise me suspicion of sleeping with my son -- especially if I'm dating them. I don't have a son, but I would hope they would also respect the code implicitly. Now you raise an issue with "class." Clearly everyone in this story were of a lower class. Perhaps in these social circles one need to worry about children hooking up with stepparents. I call this "ghetto mentality." That you @Pioneer1 you might be watching too much step-mom porn2 points

Easy to overlook and take for granted. Black folks could be a more powerful voting bloc If we were actually demanding tangibles. We have not put forth an agenda to which politicians can be held accountable. Otherwise, we're just exercising our right to vote. We get nothing return. Again, Black folks are easy marks. Other groups of people have zero respect for us. We haven't done anything to correct it. The biggest *problem* is there are too many operatives among Black folks selling us out.2 points

richardmurray Thank you sir, but that comment wasn't meant to be a criticism of the list! It's appreciated because it hipped me to a lot of new spots I need to hit the next time I go back to Detroit. I was kind of thinking "out loud" as I remember the various spots I used to frequent when I lived in the city....lol. I'm kind of surprised at Seattle having so many Black owned cafes. I been there a bunch of times. Although it does have a Black presence, it's a fairly White city, lol.1 point

What Troy just posted is on point. And, the demograph for the "Wicked" franchise is not black people. Young black girls are not flocking to theaters to see this latest film fantasy. Nor is there any great interest in it by the black population in general. To them, it's just another Disneyesque Hollywood fantasy like "Sleeping Beauty" or "Shrek". They ain't paying no money to go see it. Pioneer overestimates the gullibilty of black folks as well as the deviousness of Hollywood whose primary goal is profit; not promoting racism. Attributing racial overtones to this movie's subliminal message is a stretch saturated with paranoia. Cynthia and Ariana have admitted they have an affectionate, gender based, non binary relationship. So what else is new? In today's social climate this is not an eyebrow raiser. Who cares if this is their "thing"? Hollywood has always been a freak show. But, as usual, the Strawman has to manufacture a hysterical scenario in an attempt to substantiate his far-fetched argument characterizing some bald headed green skin character as a racist surrogate for a black person. For the person with a hammer, every issue is a nail. Much ado about nothing.1 point

Just how many penises have you sized up over the years? So why “contradick” this and insist that there is one? Your “reasoning” never ceases to astonish me. Shooting down the myth that’s so-called Black people have the biggest dicks is not disparaging black men. It is interesting. You take so much pride in this myth. If you are packing 10+ inches. and that is important to you. Take pride in that you don’t have to perpetrate a myth. Black people have plenty of actual and meaningful accomplishments to be proud of couldn’t be the mothers and fathers of civilization — indeed humanity. Yes, they are marketed to people ego think like you. Of course it is.1 point
-
Are Cynthia and Ariana queer? That might explain the off screen “relationship.” As far as the movie poster, if you don’t know anything about the movie and haven’t seen it how can you comment about the poster? I have not seen the movie, but I’ve seen the play and I’ve seem to remember the green witch being a sympathetic character and ultimately a positive one. Yeah, I do think you’re making too much of the poster. For one the character is green with straight hair. So unless you’re going to bat for our green brother and sisters, I don’t understand what you’re complaining about. This movie, the least of our worries. And Cynthia Evio is a net positive for the black community in my opinion.1 point

Well happy Birth Date my brutha! How old are you now, 25....30? It should come as no surprise that I don't celebrate Thanks Giving. Because of my strong influence, nobody in my household does either. I don't force them to or not to....but I guess I have that type of influence over people...lol. On top of that, as I've gotten older a lot of the matriarchs who did most of the cooking during these holidays have passed on and most of the younger women DON'T KNOW how to cook. I grew up eating DRESSING....and they're talking about making some STUFFING...lol. WTF??? * Talk about men being jealous in another thread. Sometimes I DO get jealous of these African and immigrant Latino men who come from a culture where cooking is still highly prized among their women. The women are expected to cook, not just for the children but for the men....and this is indisputable among them! Even the younger ones just ACCEPT this and smile as they start rattling the dishes and warming up the water. Now THAT is enough to get a brutha jealous and wonder why do THEY deserve that type of royal treatment....lol. Anyway...... I DO enjoy the time off I get though and I use it to relax and get other things done. As far as using it as a time to spend with family and friends.....you should be doing that ANY day of the week you have an opportunity. I don't need a White man to tell me WHEN to do it. I say the same things about Mother's Day. I don't let anybody "shame" me into celebrating Mother's Day, because EVERY DAY should be Mother's Day when your mother is still alive to celebrate her.1 point

Obviously you love it, because it seems to be an object of your affection and attention. However to be precise..... It wasn't the statement itself that was incomplete, I just didn't quote it in it's entirety. I quoted the part I wanted to comment on....not being able to figure out HOW to break free from the oppressor. The second part of her statement....needing or wanting help to get us out of our oppression....most of us acknowledge and accept. Most of our people would GLADLY welcome somebody else to come in and do for them what we SHOULD be doing for ourselves, which is one of the reasons why so many call on Jesus. However the FIRST part.....not being able to figure out HOW to overpower your oppressor and break free from them.....is one very few of our people would ever admit to and have a very hard time accepting.1 point

There is still possibly 3 years left on the clock. Considering the amount of turmoil the current administration has undergone in 10 months since the was inaugurated, the wheels could fall off the bus before the next general election. The question remains how much collateral damage will be done before the circus bus goes over a cliff or crashes and blows up. Maybe it just comes to a slow halt. Either way, I do not believe there will be another reality show POTUS. America has already experimented with a Black man. Right now, the country is being run by someone HB Barnum may have been proud. The next POTUS will be *normal*. Regardless of the administration in power, America seems to maintain its balance between haves and have nots by expanding the middle. Enough Americans are surviving well enough to keep the lid from blowing off. That's why there are no real protests of any *problems*. A civil war won't happen anytime soon either. I still believe the real threat is AI. It is not a different person to worry about. Race, gender, s8xual orientation, creed, etc., won't matter. People will either have a marketable skillset or they will have to go on welfare i.e. Universal Basic Income (UBI). The challenge will be determining who gets the UBI and how much they receive. The clown Elon Musk has already stated that in the future work will be optional and cash won't be relevant either. That's easy to say for someone in line to become a trillionaire. Young people will have to figure something out if the wealthy continue down this path. It would be a d8mn shame for them to be left with a dystopian existence.1 point

This post was started by Troy last June, and here we are in November, caught up in the "the more things change politically, the more they become the same" theme,( Marjorie Taylor Greene's announcement of her plans to retire from Congress in January after having an ephiphany about Trump, being the possible exception to this trend. ) But the perennial conversations on this forum, continue. Same tune, different lyrics. Democrats bad, Republicans worse, white supremacy alive and well, racism subtle and entrenched, marathon dialogs bringing to mind images of black folks chasing their tails, made dizzy by the exercise. While recently scrolling through my phone. I checked out some reels of Neil de Grasse I Tyson, which gave me pause. I'd heard this theory before but it sunk in a little more this time around because of where I am in my earthly journey. He said, in essence, that time is an illusion, that everything has already happened, that the past, the present, and the future are one, and we are just moving forward. He said that to exist was a privilege because there were "those" for whom life never came into fruition. ??? And that dying was proof of having existed, and nothing more than that. Another outre thing he said was that the human species does not adapt, that some of them are intrinsically equipped to survive changing conditions, while others aren't, and simply die out... These were just a few of the extraordinary claims he made. Of course, we have no way of determining whether he, himself, knows what the hell he's talking about, but his glib explanations are thought provoking and at this point, my priorities have changed when it comes to the issues I ponder. America in general, and black folks in particular no longer command any great involvement on my.part. "Whatever will be, will be," and if we are to take Neil de Grasse Tyson seriously, - "already is". And the beat goes on... zzzzz GO BEARS ! Enjoy your turkey.1 point

richardmurray In your experience it seems black people who are , what some call, devout, gardless to the religion they adhere to, fit a lifestyle model you accept as positive. ok I didn't say "gardless" or "Regardless" of their religion...lol. I specified CHRISTIANS. There are Muslims who are devout who believe in KILLING people who disbelieve or reject the faith. Most Hebrew Israelites tend to be very devout and quite HOSTILE to people who disbelieve in their faith also. That's not to say there aren't Christians who believe in doing the same thing, but among most AfroAmericans....most devout AfroAmerican Christians aren't violent. Hey brutha Rich, if you don't mind my asking...how old are you?1 point

Agreed. True, but for now, we are still stuck in the very system that conquered us, so we need help to stop the dysfunction from an outside source. I completely disagree. Humans exist in a social world and for this reason, we are dependent on each other to survive in some way form or fashion, and so for this reason, people cannot be successful in providing for their own family units without getting help from a larger organizational government that forms. If that government is fair, then from that perspective people in smaller groups should be able to provide for themselves. WOW. Thank you for this reply. Again, thanks for your input and your genius. The term 'bends historical reality' is an amazing insight! I do agree that some of our perspective about the plight of us, African Americans in America can be a confusion and distorts what may really be true!1 point

@Chevdove they always have, if you look at black people complaining about other black people it started in the 1800s from the most well off black people complaining that black people not well off had some erroneous behavior. This is why MLK jr for all of his nonviolence, for his nepobaby upbringing, was never made head of the southern black leadership conference, because he comprehended that black fiscal poor majority in the black populace in the usa have a financially inequal situation in the usa, built over centuries, that financially can not be deemed irrelevant. People talk about money but then want to disregard financial advantage whites have. https://aalbc.com/tc/events/event/356-mlk-jr-day-good-news-calendar/ @ProfD question, do you think our enslaved forebears should had children? based on your words, they shouldn't have wanted to bring children into this world far more than any other black people. And I do think it is a convenience if you suggest they were not able to choose to do so. My question is about their intent not ability. no a war between usa and china will have many boots on the ground, many boots. Remember, the wars the usa has fought since the end of the russian/usa armistice wars were never against a nuclear power. this is why , the usa will not put boots on the ground for ukraine. it isn't because the usa can't but the inevitable clash on the ground will swallow ukraine and lead to a true war, not these larg skirmishes the usa has with iraq/afghanistan/kosovo and company do you honestly think the usa which has mostly white people in it, will have most black people not working for white firms thank you for this quote. Pioneer at times speaks about black people with such a disdain, it bends historical reality. If a homeless black child with only the clothes on their back reads pioneers words they will think they can walk into a town where no blacks exist, or a town of mostly whites like nyc, and through their intelligence own every business , own all the land, in the town and non blacks will simply have succumbed to the intellectual powers of themselves just some clearly brilliant strategy. thank you again. I have said it before, Black History throughout humanity from the late 1400s to today is not simple. It isn't something for a financial ledger, this is complicated. It isn't failure and your wrong or failure and your stupid. I can speak for my bloodline and say, I had multiple business owners in my bloodline and things were not and are not a simple matter of out chessing non blacks. @Pioneer1 It is interesting you don't use the word powerful, you use smart, like a chessboard game, not power, which is why Black descended of enslaved are here. war is why, war is about power. intelligence has value but it is a bloody mess. A bullet can come from anyone. What makes you think intelligence can stop a bullet from a fool ? 7/11 is a japanese firm, it isn't indian, anyone can open up 7/11 s and from my eyes, 7/11s aren't the most popular convenience stores among black people. did you know black people in the usa were still enslaved to whites in the 1970s? Alice wasn't alone. you make black history in the usa like a fantasy. for the record, war is the way whites europeans did it and it worked pretty well from them everywhere in humanity. Cause those other ways you talk about don't get the same results as war based on current human history. I know people in many non black immigrant communities. I have not heard them speak of themselves as powerful. If anything I have heard of them pleading for whites to be nice to them. White jews are white people, they do not count. They are part of the white collective that enslaved black people , which is war. White asians did use war, Japan was the only non white european imperial power during the first two imperial white european wars yes? china is a nuclear power, the tides of immigration into the usa that occured after they became a nuclear power is based on that. India is a nuclear power, the indian government never signed the non proliferation treaty, and their immigration into the usa has only strengthened since then. Why do you think north korea/iran are doing it? why do you think israel already did it ? you think gaining a nuclear weapon isn't about war. And yes, once a country has a nuclear weapon it changes the status of that country and their citizens all over the world. that is why Iran wants one so bad, you would call iran stupid and they should focus on tricking the usa.1 point

@Pioneer1 this made me laugh, even enough. I will only add the following... so often online humans chime in on affairs of governance or complex communal human relation , but, the lack of effort in the details , in the wordy thesis , only supports the internets overall poor quality in discourse. I was taught that each individual in humanity is unique and you can only know what one will do when they do it. But, to your question, he is no different than AOC, the one from the central park five representing harlem in the city council, the brooklyn or queens borough presidents, a bunch of people who got elected on platforms of bloated promises who are gambling the voting population will be willing to support their continual bids. I argue, Deblasio + Adams were the end of an era for mayor of NYC. from Lindsey to Adams NYC mayors overall have been variations of centrism. trying to be a kind of middle, each favoring different things so a tilt but overall central. Mamdani in my gamble to the future will legally/functionally be a centrist but his rhetoric will be left. Although a key part to Mamdani is the governor and president, what either of them do has a huge role to play. Hochul is a centrist. She doesn't hate expanded government welfare but she wants to keep the fiscal capitalistic dream alive, the idea that fiscal capitalism can work even in a usa unlike at any time before, where the populace has the most universal rights, even the native american has rights, where the populace has the most variance of fiscal wealth, more non whites or more non males or more non christians have money, significant sums than any time before in New York State. So fiscal capitalism in the usa has never had to deal with the environment it has now. So I think Mamdani is different in important ways but will not act different largely because his superiros, governor+president will not let him.1 point

ProfD Unfortunately, entrepreneurship is not heavily promoted among our people and often times frowned upon. Most of our people are taught to get a job or career working for someone else. Do most of our people work for others because they were TAUGHT this, or because they INCLINE towards it? Yet again, INTELLIGENCE becomes a factor we have to look at. Not sure about you, but since I was a kid I've heard Black folks give speeches and rallies ENCOURAGING Black folks to own their own businesses and work for themselves and build schools, hospitals, farms, own their own homes, etc.... Jealousy is not always a bad thing....neither is being insecure Both are means use by your subconscious mind to tell you something is not what it appears to be... How you react or interpret that information is what makes it beneficial or detrimental. Understood... Timidity is being cautious...scared is being extra vigilant So long as neither stops you from taking action to confront and recognize the cause. True....that is his responsibility to protect and secure family It only becomes a problem when it curtails the freedoms and liberties of those who he intends to protect. It is My opinion that one should be able to trust his woman to handle certain situation in a manner that makes you and herself happy True... Hate to me is not an emotion....hate is a sentiment Fear is an emotion that warns of danger real or imagine. Envy is an feeling based in lack I first evaluate her reaction....then i consider whether or not he has overstep That depends on her actions and reactions... Never....or only in physical self defense Was she flirting ? Hard to say without more detail True I do not see them as inherently negatively... And yes it points to what is in the individual... Information is pick up by our Senses.....This info is below the level of Consciousness - subliminal. Subliminal info is raw data.....feelings Depending on current Mind Set...Temperament or Disposition. Feelings become Emotions I disagree First you must define your definition of Jealousy and Insecurity? To me Jealousy is the fearing of losing something. That's the same thing that happened to me. The information comes from your DNA! You know what you know! I believe with all my heart that we have all the information, but we're afraid to know how we know, so we dismiss it. But try this -(don't believe everything you think. just let the thoughts flow.) For example, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how my grandpups understood what I was saying. Or any other non-human species for that matter, but today, I watched my grandpup Scott nose wiggle while I was speaking to him -- and do you know that little furbaby sniffs to understand my message? He can smell me, tell what I mean, and actually acts on it. So, there is intelligence in "knowing." through all our senses! Most of the time, I feel the message or I put my finger on the answer. I'm not special! We can all do this! Trust what you're feeling and be fluid with iit. The last part means to let the information flow in and out - don't be wedded to it. Just use it as you would when reporting a story. Don't fear correcting yourself later - information is fluid. The more open you are open to letting the information flow, the more the answers you need will come, and as they come, you can build on them and build your knowledge in any discipline.1 point
