  1. Yeah, I have no idea of why @Stefan crawls out from under his rock and heads to the nearest library to use a computer and post his offerings and put downs. This discussion forum already has a small contingent of regular posters. Many lurkers based on view count. The regulars keep the discussions going. If we waited on Stefan to show up and provide content this forum would be drier than Arizona. Instead of stumbling in every now and then to scold us for one reason or three, it would be awesome if he could find something he likes about hanging out here. If flying in and insulting us makes Stefan feel better about himself, my recommendation would be to get up from the library computer and check out a book on mental health wellness for the constant curmudgeon. Whatever happened while @Stefan was the editorial supervisor at the Daily Planet is between him and them. Nobody here fired or forced him to turn his pens, paper and typewriter to retire. I have no idea of how or why justice for Elijah McClain became the reason for Stefan who seems to be an overly-sensitive senior citizen trying to insult a consistent member of this forum and someone who really could give two f8cks less about what he (Steffie) thinks. Thanks @aka Contrarian for acknowledging my contribution to the forum. As you know, even in the midst of our dust-ups,๐Ÿคฃ I'll forever be your #1 fan around here. There's nothing you can do about it.๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. Rep. Crockett soared like an eagle in her response to stupid azz Rep. MTG. ๐Ÿคฃ I respect former FLOTUS Obama's statement in general. Black folks do enough of that already. However, Black folks cannot continue the non-violent and silent treatment every time racists come for us. We have to clap back. Only way bullies will learn.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  3. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/05/20/bleach-blonde-bad-built-butch-body-crockett-trademark/73770813007/ While it could be viewed as a scene from a Mean Girls movie, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (TX) delivered the insult of the year at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG) (GA). Rep. MTG made a comment about Rep. Crockett's eyelashes getting in the way of her ability to read. A few minutes later, Rep. Crockett crushed it when she asked a question that included the alliterative bleach blonde bad built butch body in reference to Rep. MTG.๐Ÿคฃ As someone who has a strong appreciation for comedy in general and the ghetto version of it (Jonin' (DC slang) or dozens), Rep. Crockett delivered a perfect 10 if it was insult gymnastics. Surely, our elected officials should be doing more than hurling insults at each other but if someone decides to go there, don't half step. Word is Rep. Crockett has already trademarked the zinger and ordered swag containing it. I approve the move. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. Right. There's no shortage of evidence that driving while Black is a very real thing. We should already know how to play the compliance game in the moment. Live to see another day. Fight the ticket in court. Protest abuse of laws and authority. Put attorney Ben Crump to work filing lawsuits against jurisdictions that abuse laws and authority.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
  5. I've never met you in person but I'm sure you're spectacular.๐Ÿค— Around here, you're more than just a spectator seated in the peanut gallery. I look forward to reading your perspective even though you've given up on certain factions within the Black race.๐Ÿ˜ It's no secret that predominately red states have laws that disproportionately affect Black folks Recently, in Alabama, a Black man got a $200 speeding ticket for traveling 28 mph in a 25 mph zone. Ridiculous right there. But, the Black man could face 30 days in jail if he refuses to write a letter to the court apologizing to the police officer for using profanity. The officer blocked the vehicle after writing the ticket. Black man told the officer to get out of the d8mn way so that he could drop his kids off at school. Not surprised these situations are happening especially in the south. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. Feel free to provide your ideas of what Black folks should do to keep white supremacists and racists from doing their business as usual.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. American politics has become a reality TV show. Grab your popcorn and candy and favorite beverage. Sit back and watch the sh8tshow.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. Juneteenth as a holiday was a bone thrown at Black folks because we don't have enough holidays. IMO, it will be harder to get traction for Kwanzaa because it's not popular among most AfroAmericans.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  9. Admittedly, I haven't watched any of the Good Times reboot. But, it reads like a South Park knockoff using Black imagery. The open letter to Netflix is the 1st step in protesting this foolishness. Next up, for those to whom it matters, start canceling subscriptions.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  10. The 1st and last versions read more like a human wrote it. That 2nd version, even based on the parameters provided, reads like a robot wrote it. ๐Ÿ˜ @Delano, please let us know which one you decide to use.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  11. Right. One of those pressing personal matters is being able to get a job after graduation.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  12. Interestingly, the shooting was caught on nearby cameras. The shooter made incriminating statements during talk with a crisis negotiator before police got him out of his barricaded house. Yet, the article writer insisted on using allegedly when referring to the man's actions. Meanwhile, down in Florida, a sheriff responding to a disturbance call ends up shooting and killing a Black man. Granted, the young man was holding a legally-owned gun at his side. But, he didn't really know who was banging on his door. Nonetheless, the Black man opens the door, officer sees a gun and starts shooting. Everything happened in a matter of seconds. No negotiation. The sad reality is that these hateful white folks don't see Blacks as humans. They see a threat that needs to be neutralized. Black folks have several reasons for which they can hate white folks. History proves it. OTOH, I cannot think of anything Black folks have done to make white folks hate us. The only thing Black folks have done is made it through slavery and found a way to thrive. Otherwise, Black folks haven't done much of anything directly to white folks to cause their hatred of us. I believe white hatred of Black folks is rooted in guilt and fear that one day they will be made to atone for their sins against us. That judgment day is coming.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  13. I don't known about writing phenomenon but my theory is that you're in that percentile of folks who get to exceed life expectancy in a very good and healthy way. Reminds me of my grandmother who will be 94 years old next month. Her mind and wit is still very sharp. No ailments. No medication routine. She still lives independently. Only stopped driving because she doesn't have too. I cook and host several family functions. My grandma shows up at everything and talks trash and eats and cuts up better than people half her age. @aka Contrarian , you're playing with house money at this point in the game and looking great while doing it. Enjoy. Both you and my grandma are living miracles especially compared to those seniors who who think Ronald Reagan was the last POTUS.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. @Troy, of course, we know why that book would never be in every American home. True Black history would rollback and turn upside down the world as we know it. ๐Ÿ˜ IMO, that's why it's important for Black folks to get their heads out of religion which has brainwashed and learn their true history. Knowledge of self is the real key to freedom and salvation.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  15. The man had been harassing the family for years which means this event had been brewing. I'd imagine somebody hoped and prayed that it would never escalate into violence. Before the proliferation of guns, folks were using rope and trees to accomplish the same end. There is a mentality that breeds this type of hate. Any weapon will suffice in carrying out an execution. The people who could most easily solve these types of *problems* are the most unwilling to do so. The same people thrive and benefit from societal dysfunction in many ways.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  16. Enjoy exploring AI. I'll let you all know when it's time to come outside and do some real work.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  17. The 88% I quoted is average literacy rate for AfroAmericans across the board. https://wordsrated.com/african-american-literacy-statistics/ A great example of how our economic infrastructure is severely lacking. Ultimately, that's what many folks end up having to do. I'm fortunate enough to live in an area with a solid AfroAmerican Bank. They have been excellent to me over a couple decades and counting. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  18. A literacy rate of 88% on average would suggest that Black folks are not lacking in education. We are lacking in opportunities. We have not built enough of a Black economic infrastructure to insure that our people can be gainfully employed without having to rely on the dominant society. AI is going put to white folks out of work. The trickle down effect will be brutal especially for the most educated Black folks with no businesses.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  19. Right. On some level they do but in the grand scheme, when it comes to Black people, regardless of hue or ethnicity, we're all the same.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  20. Reads like a mockery or remix is being made of the 1st Black ghetto TV show. I wouldn't be surprised if Black folks are allowing and/or complicit in a trashy remake.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  21. Excellent way to put it.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  22. Considering my gifts and talents, I was probably put here to help and teach i.e. spread love.๐Ÿ˜ Love is simply giving of yourself unselfishly and unconditionally without expectation of reciprocation or reward. Looks simple but it's not. Greed, jealousy, envy, hate, etc., make it harder than Chinese arithmetic for most people to give. That's where we get the adage that it's better to give than to receive. Here's the dope part.... Those who give love unconditionally receive far more than they could have asked for in the form of joy. It actually feels great to make a difference in someone else's life.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  23. H8ll to the naw. Dark-skin comes in different hues but that person is totally misleading with that description. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
  24. As I've mentioned before, the world would be a much better place if humans truly understood how to give and receive love. Most *problems* would be solved.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  25. Person of color or non-white would accomplish the same thing with no confusion.๐Ÿ˜Ž
