  1. Of the remaining GOP candidates challenging the former POTUS for the nomination, only one of them is willing to call him out on his record and legal issues. Former Gov. Chris Christie who at one time was a loyal ally to the former POTUS is the only candidate who seems unafraid to oppose him. Watching the debate is funnier than some TV shows and movies. These clown characters are wasting a whole lot of money In a losing effort. The former POTUS is leaving the clowns in the dust. I don't think he would even ask any those candidates to be his VP running mate or cabinet level positions.
  2. Nothing wrong with it. Some folks like the sound of one hand clapping.
  3. That's right. I see you've paid attention to and/or accepted some of what I type. White folks and others will codify some sh8t Black folks created for *fun* and turn it into a commodity for themselves.
  4. I bet those good Afroamericans in the South didn't allow you to go anywhere near the racists. Southern Black folks are conditioned from birth to either avoid or know how to deal with racists when encountered. It's urban raised AfroAmericans like myself who go down South with a swagger that puts everybody on notice that 1) I'm not from down there and 2) I don't give a f8ck about racist white folks.
  5. Agreed. He couldn't miss afterward. Drove that train straight through a town called success.
  6. Every group of people has their dysfunctional. The question to ask yourself is why don't you know about them. It's definitely not because they don't exist. Spend some time in the backwoods or trailer parks of America or paying the same level of attention to others. You'll see their warts too.
  7. As I mentioned before, white folks aren't original or creative. They steal, er, get ideas from others.
  8. Considering what LeBron James does on the basketball court, I don't see someone who a coach can control or manipulate or influence. As a supremely gifted and talented athlete, he makes the team successful. Folks are hired based on their ability to do a job and fired when they are incapable. That's why folks have to walk in the door with certain credentials. No need to control or manipulate or influence them. That's why they get paid.
  9. Interesting old thread. As a foodie and a self-proclaimed chef, I'll just add that any type of food is only as unhealthy as it is prepared and/or consumed. There are alternatives to using fat and salt and high fructose corn syrup in dishes. I don't eat pork in general. D8mn sure not eating intestines, er, chitlins. My family loves that sh8t though. African foods can be starch heavy. Some Africans have to deal with high blood pressure and diabetes too. Buy quality ingredients to cook. Control portion servings. Enjoy whatever goes down into your belly. Exercise. Rinse and repeat.
  10. Surely, it could be debated that sitcoms of the 1950s inspired Lear. IMO, the credit Lear gets is that his sitcoms featured diversity in casting and he wrote scripts tackling a wider range of issues reflecting those times. The main benefit Lear had was color TV in more ways than one.
  11. Norman Lear created the blueprint for sitcom TV: https://www.vulture.com/2023/12/remembrance-norman-lear-19222023.html Sanford & Son, The Jeffersons and Good Times were among Lear's most popular sitcoms. Those were the days of TV long before cable and syndication. Back in those days, folks had to wait weekly to watch those shows. Nowadays, TV shows can be pulled up on demand or watched as a marathon. Those TV shows were created a half-century ago. Time flies.
  12. We'll never know because the media doesn't pander to those for participation. Otherwise, people from any race, color, creed or ethnicity are capable of doing something strange for some change. Culture plays a huge part in human development. The code is taught from day one of a child's life. No code. Rudder-less and lost. That dysfunction starts with their parents. Getting older definitely makes us more cognizant of embarrassment especially when its our people. More people see the dysfunctional behavior and choose not to say anything because they don't want the smoke. As the late, great Bernie Mac would say..."we got some punk azz parents out here".
  13. Gotcha. The white man's path to power and wealth is littered with millions of dead bodies. That's what I was referring to as duplicating the worst of men. Otherwise, it absolutely makes sense to duplicate positive efforts that produce constructive results. No need to reinvent the big wheel. Leadership is not about controlling people. It is recognizing their talent, knowledge, skills and abilities and empowering them to fulfill their potential and enrich themselves while accomplishing the mission. A winning coach is an example of leadership. Same goes for the CEO of a successful company.
  14. The road to h8ll is paved with good intentions and potential. I don't think any parent would encourage a child to be greedy or jealous as motivatiion to succeed. But, as I mentioned, it would be great *if* negative emotions are channeled into positive constructive energy.
  15. It makes no sense beyond feeding people's desire to get a closer look at the action and carnage. Adults try to blame the disregard for human life on video games and movies. Nope. All forms of media are guilty of putting out negative images.
  16. A man can put in the work required to change his station in life. I was referring to AfroAmericans primarily but also lifting Black people by extension. Working together as I envision it would have Black folks on code.
  17. Channeling negative emotions into constructive energy would be great. Greed and jealousy aren't usually associated with positivity.
  18. Everything shown in white-owned media is designed to reinforce anti-Black beliefs and sentiment. The eyes provide a window into the soul and mind. Folks believe a lot of what they see and shaped their thoughts accordingly. The real question is what are Black folks doing to control their own image and narrative. Put a Jewish woman in those same commercials and watch how fast the ADL comes crashing down with charges of antisemitism.
  19. Brotha @frankster strikes again. Whole post was thorough but I wanted to highlight salient points. If AfroAmericans were to take their talent, knowledge, skills and abilities gained from the West and looked to build with Africans and others throughout the diaspora, the status of Black folks all over the planet would rise exponentially. However, AfroAmericans need to start with building an infrastructure right here in America. Call it a laboratory or test run or proving ground.
  20. Yep. The government definitely had a word with them (antitrust) for monopolistic practices. Microsoft tried to argue that because every computer had an operating system ( brain) they should be entitled to a royalty for every piece of software product run on the platform. They lost. Most definitely. As long as there are people who feel they should have more than everybody else, greed will always be a problem.
  21. No reason for us to duplicate the worst of men. Power and wealth should be used to lift all boats. Everyone should be able to live comfortably.
  22. Right. The media has more boots on the ground in Israel and Ukraine than they have soldiers.
  23. Either one will do as long as it's honest and doesn't cause harm or mistreatment to others.
  24. This is the African country I would like to buy land and build a house but there's one small problem...I don't speak a drop of French. So, more than likely I'd end up in Ghana.
  25. Well brotha @Stefan, I appreciate the compliment. I enjoy the space brotha @Troy has created here. I just try to do a small part in keeping discussions lively and entertaining. Back to the program.... More than a handful of countries as listed above. I stand corrected. Authoritarian and hybrid regimes, flawed and failed democracies lead to violence and instability. No matter how poor and/or unstable a country is there are folks running around fat and happy because they are better off than them. The common denominator in every one of those countries is Black people. IMO, mainstream news organizations aren't interested in reporting it because that would uncover who is ultimately responsible for the political and economic instability of those countries. Yet, Black folks throughout the planet have enough access to technology, information and resources to highlight these problems. Social media could be used for more than posting a bunch of BS. In fairness, it's hard to help folks who aren't helping themselves. Maybe it's just easier to flee and/or bury one's head in a TikTok video.
