Racists will not end their penchant for coming for us
ProfD replied to Stefan's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Black folks definitely have to keep their head on a swivel and stay ready when it comes to being targeted for attack in one way or another. I hope for a time when we can live in peace, joy, happiness and prosperity; not having too worry about being attacked or harmed by anyone including racists, white supremacists and even some of our own folks. -
Yep. Considering 8 billion people on the planet and those who've left the rock; folks are still getting down regularly. That's not counting the amount of f8cking folks have done and are doing that doesn't produce anything but a release. Polygamy is illegal and frowned upon in certain places but most men have had more than one woman in their lifetime and/or at the same time. Same goes for women. Folks find a way to f8ck around the rules.

More accolades for Serena Williams and Ruby Bridges
ProfD replied to Stefan's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
There's a difference between athletically fit women like the Williams sisters and a hard azz chick who pumps iron and looks like Ms. Olympia. Many men like fat women. I doubt they have a secret desire to sleep with bears. -
Well put. They might be the s8xually selfish type of women a man would be better off avoiding anyway. A man should ask himself the question If she's content pleasing herself with a mechanical device and/or toys how much effort is she really willing to put into satisfying him.

Glad I don't recall seeing that video back in the day. It definitely would not have sold more candy bars in my hood.

@Pioneer1, the Williams' sisters are world class athletes. While Venus might appear to be less than her sister in one way or another...she's not. Their daddy, Richard Willliams built them equally. Proof is in their accomplishments. Some dudes prefer softer women. Nothing wrong it. Different strokes. -
Absolutely. Lazy both mentally and physically. It's easier to bury one's head in a belief and/or a book of fairy tales rather than putting in work whether it's education or employment or anything productive and leading to tangible results.

That's easy. Black churches are the one place a whole bunch of Black folks know they'll have an audience to whom they can show their style, money, talent, etc. OTOH, put them in a white church and that showing off sh8t goes out the window. N8gglets become meek and humble around white folks. Hat's in hand and bowing...yes sir...no ma'am. Black folks show off for each other. They instinctively know that nobody else gives a f8ck about them.

Neither a borrower nor a lender be...unless... One has the power to crush their creditors.

Maybe those sistas were not raised by a strong Black man. A lot of women have been doing the heavy lifting by themselves. That could lead to confusion among their sons and daughters. That's why we see overly emotional dudes and hard azz chicks walking around. As Diana Ross sang..."Upside Down".
-
By design, no strong Black men are held up in this culture because they would inspire younger folks to aspire to be more than athletes and entertainers. Society doesn't take Black entertainers seriously. If/when they do stand up for something, they're quickly torn down in one way or another. But, there plenty strong black men holding it down for their families both immediate and extended (community). Unfortunately, Black media doesn't highlight folks who could be role models enough. Too busy showing garbage reality shows. More entertainment.
-
Many folks pursue knowledge and information that produces tangible results in their lives. In addition to being an opiate fed to the masses in order to keep them oppressed, religion is another form of entertainment that allows folks to exploit others and/or mentally escape their reality. It's easy to utilize and/or blame invisible entities for conditions that human beings have created among themselves. Human beings are ultimately responsible for their own dysfunction, insolence and ignorance. Religion is a happy pill.

Poverty is an American Problem, not Black one
ProfD replied to Troy's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Those white men are still on code as long they aren't trying to tear down the system of racism white supremacy. Otherwise, those dudes are just talking about a problem with zero interest in solving it because they don't want lose their daily bread. -
IMO, a lack of strong Black men as positive role models is a key factor in the confusion and dysfunctional behavior among Black folks. Athletes and entertainers cannot be relied upon as role models. They play games and perform for a living.

Agreed. For too long, Black folks have been like an abused spouse in a dysfunctional relationship with white folks. Black folks expecting white folks to be nice and kind and to stop hauling off and slapping the sh8t outta of them or handing out black eyes. Then, having nerve to ask for s8x later. White folks are totally on code when it comes to anti-Black sentiment and maintaining the system of racism. -

I watched/listened to the video. The conditions that put Black folks in poverty and make it harder to get out are different than it is for white folks. Black folks don't own the avenues to generating income nor do we have direct access to power. OTOH, if the millions of whiite folk living in poverty stood together and demanded better wages or living conditions, it could happen for them faster than anyone else. -

Excellent. Love to see folks getting their flowers while they're still among the living. -

A white man could get up off his sofa, shave, shower, put on a suit and apply for a job. He'd either replace minorities or be their boss in less than 6 months. Many white folks don't have to be in poverty here in America. They have chosen to remain or be poor. There's no other reason to explain why poor white folks vote against their best interests. Unless the threat/promise of keeping Black folks beneath them is a benefit. There's a reason the media doesn't run around America showing a bunch of broke, dirty and dysfunctional white folks either. Poverty in America is real. But, it's not an American problem. It's a self-inflicted wound especially for white folks. -
FBI Confiscates Mayor Eric Adams' Electronics
ProfD replied to ProfD's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
The same way POTUS takes credit for policies that are crafted by others; he must also take blame. He's ultimately responsible for everything that happens under his administration. -
It will be interesting to see if the company gets away with paying fines and/or if they will be forced to loosen up their monopoly.

Wars bring out the worst in humanity. There are no real winners. Plenty losers.
