  1. Agreed. Racism and the hate that accompanies it could always be a problem for black folks. While I do not believe interracial marriages will lead to the erasure of black people from the planet, I do think it will further dilute and marginalize black folks. If knowledge of our history is an indicator, eventually, black folks will no longer embrace their skin color when it comes to their contributions, achievements and advancements in the world. At some point, the 1st black [insert here] won't be any more relevant to black folks than Pete Buttigieg being the 1st gay Secretary of Transportation. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. Regina King is an excellent actress. I believe she would portray Shirley Chisholm very well. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  3. @Stefan, that is unfortunate. The politicians running New York and New York respectively need to be pulled on the carpet if they are not providing laptops to students in need. It is essential to their learning especially when schools are closed for whatever reason. Businesses and institutions of higher learning dispose of computers that can be refurbished and recycled. So, it's not like they aren't available. But, these are the types of platform issues voters should be aware during election time. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  4. The folks I'm referring to who're just learning how to use a computer probably aren't using CashApp or Bitcoin either. ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  5. Surely, they who run the media get to program it. Unfortunately, we won't speak up and force them to let it go. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  6. IMO, we've reached a point now that anyone who really wants a computer can get one. Schools provide computers to under-privileged students. Organizations provide refurbished computers to the poor. Libraries and other places provide free Wi-Fi service. Internet service providers offer senior citizens a reduced fee in some areas. The biggest hurdle isn't technological, it's computer literacy i.e. teaching folks who didn't grow up with computers and/or never had to use them. Getting back on topic, the folks I'm referrring to have no business fooling with crypto.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
  7. Wherever there is currency and/or an opportunity to make money, thieves are nearby plotting to steal it. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
  8. Chris Rock is a comedian. He tells jokes for a living. It was not his intention to insult a medical condition. Also, Jada could have done a number of things with her head (hat or a wig) if she was that self-conscious about it. Not like she was sitting there as a cancer patient. IMO, Will took his frustration out on Chris but his issues go deeper than a joke. He didn't smack that young guy who was supposedly smashing his wife. Nor has he smacked his confused kids. Will has deeper issues. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Senator Lindsey Graham is going to vote against Judge Jackson. Sen. Graham said she's of good character but he's voting against her due to a "record of judicial activism, flawed sentencing methodology and a belief that she will not be deterred by the plain meaning of the law when it comes to liberal causes." Sen. Graham is full of it. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
  10. @Stefan, no worries...I figured it was an oversight. ๐Ÿ˜ All is well on my end. Hopefully so for each and every one of you and yours too. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  11. @Stefan, I think you have me mixed up with someone else. I'm not a right-winger by any stretch of the imagination.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  12. Justice Thomas' wife who also happens to be his best friend is a staunch conservative political activist. I refuse to believe she hasn't done anything that would pose a conflict of interest to him. Amazing that it's been kept under wraps for so long. Then again, maybe not because he's in the same ideological boat.๐Ÿ˜Ž

While he hasn't admitted it yet but I think GOP Senator Mitt Romney will vote to confirm Judge Jackson too.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  14. Same here. As I mentioned in another thread, it was a bad look for black men. All dressed up like penguins but one acting a fool. Will has apologized but the damage is already done. They wonder why the Academy awards has been white for so long. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜Ž
  15. I'm not going to do anything at an awards show. A comedian gets paid to tell jokes. Nobody is exempt especially if it's funny. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  16. Yeah. While I can understand Will's frustration with folks coming for him and his wife Jada, that wasn't the time or place to smack the sh8t outta someone especially another black man. Bad look. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  17. While the Nation of Islam (NOI) is hush about it, I don't believe Minister Farrakhan is in the best of health these days. It remains to be seen whether or not the Minister has groomed his successor to lead NOI in the future. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  18. Justice Thomas may have checked himself into the hospital because it's hitting the fan that his wife Ginny was texting former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows after the election. She was also in communication with folks involved in January 6th. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  19. Just make sure the letter is sent to the *right* folks. Maybe they will take the time to read and heed it. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  20. Only as a token and a tool. The right has been wearing Justice Thomas' azz like a cheap suit. They use him as the we like black folks...look, see. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  21. ProfD replied to a post in a topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Right. He's the same jackazz who voted against her nomination to the federal appeals court. His reasoning is purely political and probably racist too. It has nothing to do with her qualifications.๐Ÿ˜Ž
  22. I seriously doubt that any decision Justice Thomas has ever written has been or will be studied in law schools across America. ๐Ÿ˜ I'm glad Justice Thomas was able to earn a living and feed his family. But, his time on the bench will never be of historical signifcance to black folks. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  23. Mayor Eric Adams is not another dumb black flunky. He is a neophyte politician who has been elected to run the largest city in America. Mayor Adams either already knows and/or he's realizing money runs everything. Politicians are just the public faces of goverment and puppets of big business. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  24. Send that letter in support of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to Senators Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley and every other GOP obstructionist who may vote against her. Otherwise, @Stefan is correct. Wriiting a letter would be an exercise in futility at this point. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  25. ProfD replied to a post in a topic in Culture, Race & Economy
So far, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson should be well on her way to being confirmed to the SCOTUS. Judge Jackson has masterfully handled any shade a committee member has thrown at her. Some of the questions they've asked her were ridiculous. No other nominee would have been asked about critical race theory, gender identity, child pornography case sentencing, etc. It will be interesting to see who voted for her to be a judge but chooses to vote against her going to the SCOTUS. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
