That was the intent. Yet, there's no shortage of folks who grew up watching Sesame Street and they're full-blown racists as adults.

Of course not. Non-corrupted, uncompromised Black folks would be majority stakeholders in ownership. A Black-owned platform can be policed just like the existing. The Black folks I'm referring to buying a paltform aren't average people. Wealthy Black folks could invest in it.

https://www.cnn.com/2025/08/20/food/mcdonalds-combo-lower-prices Admittedly, I have not eaten McDonald's food in about 25 years or longer. As a result, I had no idea that McDonald's value meals had soared to $10 dollars or more. In an effort to make offerings more affordable, McD's will be lowering the price of some value meals. While it won't inspire me to start eating there, I think it's a great move especially for people and families who don't have much money. McDonald's was the one place $5 could buy a meal. Anyone should still be able to get that without having to buy the equivalent of a Happy Meal.

There is a difference between cultural chastity and a man controlling a woman through jealousy and insecurity. Being a jealous and insecure man will not keep other men away from his wife and family. The fear of what a man will do if tested will keep others away. Again, rather than be emotional, a man is better off letting that woman go especially if she sends choosing signals to other men. Some women will be flattered by jealousy and insecurity right up until that man becomes aggressive and/or physical about it. All fun and games until somebody gets hurt. I know dudes who are either stretched out in the penitentiary or graveyard as a result of their jealousy and/or insecurity. If the woman was not unalived by the ex-dude, guess what's she's doing with her snatchbox...sharing it with a free and alive dude.

Sesame Street has been around for half-century. Time flies. Unless they were not allowed to watch it, like the ignorant folks in Mississippi who protested the show, a whole bunch of children still grew up to be racists as adults. The initial investment of $8 million dollars back in the 1960s adjusted for inflation is the equivalent of $71 million dollars today. Those two white folks who brainstormed a children's TV program got a huge bag of money.

Capitalism--No Money in Cures or Solving Problems
ProfD replied to ProfD's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
The problem is capitalism feeds human greed in such a way that only a small percentage of people get to enjoy a vast amount of wealth. Apparently, for thousands of years, the wise people have not been able to appeal to the greedy people. The greedy people enrich themselves by keeping the population just healthy enough to trade their labor for wages. Generating trillions of dollars more would mean greedy people have to share the wealth and they wouldn't have anyone to look down upon if there's no lower class people. -
The USA does very little to decrease the demand for drugs. Follow the money. Yet, the same country will criminalize and punish the low-level folks who traffic drugs. Follow the money. Right now, in another show of force, the US is blowing up fishing boats in international waters near Venezuela under the guise of narco-terrorrism. Approximately 80 people have been unalived as result of military strikes on their boats. Let's be clear...the majority of fentanyl and cocaine coming into the USA isn't being trafficked on those small azz fishing boats. Most of the drugs pouring into the USA come from Colombia and Mexico by evey means of transportation...land, sea and air. With money involved, best believe a whole lot of white folks are getting rich from the proceeds of drugs. The US economy benefits significantly from everything associated with selling drugs and its usage from consumerism (cars, houses, clothes, vacation, entertainment, etc.) to medical, legal, judicial and law enforcement. Just as there is no money in curing diseases and ailments, the same goes for eliminating the demand for drugs. Follow the money. Both the legal drug dealers (pharmaceutical industry) and illegal drug dealers are allowed to thrive at the expense of people being sick, debilitated and/or addicted. A long time ago, it was realized that because they are going to die anyway, humans are expendable. Therefore, it makes most sense to profit from their existence. Human pain and/or suffering is finite due to mortality. However, the money that can be made while folks are living can be recirculated many times over and build wealth. There's no money in cures. Problems are big business especially in a capitalistic society and system thriving on it. Follow the money.

I remember Tavis Smiley catching that alphabet label until ladies filed those lawsuits.

Bravery and courage are not synonymous with jealousy and insecurity either. Right. Jealousy and insecurity are not actions. May be motivation. Still, one has to be equipped to do something in order to obtain or acquire. Iron sharpens iron. In the absence of procreation, is a jealous or insecure man protecting or guarding a woman's womb or merely keeping other men away from her? Right. Let that person go if they can do and/or find better. Plenty remaining. This thread was started as should a man be jealous and insecure I believe primarily as it relates to women. They may seem to be flattered by it but the emotions of Jealousy and insecurity are really a turnoff to most women.

Tariq Nasheed's Take On Mamdani's Election
ProfD replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
I've heard those claims. Plausible considering nobody really knows how some folks are being funded. Right. There's no shortage of shills and tethers among us. Beyond delineating from them, what else should we be doing. Thought process is we should already know neither POTUS OJ nor Republicans gives a sh8t about Black folks. Therefore, we know what to expect from them. Again, I'm perfectly fine with Black folks not caping for either party. I never hear them suggest an alternative party or candidate or movement to start one. I think it's important to call out racism white supremacy at every turn. The New Black Media does it. Instead of merely pointing out white racists and supremacists, we need a plan. NF Jr. said we need to replace that system. IMO, the New Black Media has a huge opportunity to build a movement. Just a matter of coming up with agenda and putting action behind it. -

Pursuing the right* education provides knowledge in a field of study that pays very well...science, math, engineering, medicine, computers, trades, etc. Most folks can obtain at least one degree or a trade before they reach 25 years old. They're on the path to a high paying job. Some level of wisdom can be attained by 35. No excuses for someone 50 years or older. Keep in mind that what you see and/or read about doesn't paint the whole picture when it comes to classy women here in the US. -

VGQ....you're free to close the case according to your understanding at any time. Glad I live in an environment where Black folks are 1st class. -
Tariq Nasheed's Take On Mamdani's Election
ProfD replied to Pioneer1's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
I totally support the awareness and perspective New Black Media bring. My concern is they aren't providing actionable solutions to problems. They encouraged Black folks not to vote for Democrats. Cool. Who should Black folks vote? What demands are we making? What expectations should we have of these people? How much money are we putting behind candidates and/or another party? Having a platform is great. They like to quote or cite our master teachers. Neely Fuller Jr. always said communication should be constructive. Questions and answers for solving problems. Black folks know the problems. We don't seem to have an action plan for solving them. Just yapping and grifting. -

Not a mind reader but gotcha bro. I'm waiting to see how that Venezuela situation plays out. A US military ground invasion would completely jump the shark. It would criminal. -

You're right in that context is everything. Despite the circumstances, I grew up in an environment where Black folks were encouraged to be successful. We were never told to strive for 2nd class. My upbringing and the life I've built afford me a certain perspective. I cannot relate to Black folks having to accept less. IMO, our people are way too gifted, talented and intelligent to settle for less than 1st class. -

By the time a human reaches 25 years old, they should have enough knowledge to pursue independence. By the time a human reaches 50 years old, they should have some level of wisdom. In the 1st sentence the question is asked what percentage. 2nd sentence reads like you already have the data. Well, fewer women are taking debutante classes nowadays. -
Common sense does not negate knowing the rules of the game. Otherwise, it becomes harder to get in and/or play the game. IMO, it doesn't make a difference. Democrats aren't going to do anything more to help Black folks.

Not One of Us...When Non-Whites Get Reminder
ProfD replied to ProfD's topic in Culture, Race & Economy
Just like Black folks who try to cozy up to white supremacists, I believe non-whites know they are pawns in the game. I think these types of people would much rather be 2nd class honorary white citizens instead of 1st class citizens among their own people. -
Jealousy and insecurity point to underlying fears of inadequacy. An intelligent, physically fit man who is capable of handling his business in terms of stacking resources (wealth) and self-defense has a level of confidence that does not make room for jealousy and insecurity. Again, a strong man i.e. alpha-male is capable of protection and provision without making moves based on emotions. People are naturally attracted to alpha-males. They don't have to compete for women nor have to worry about losing them. The biggest problem an alpha-male has with women is getting rid of the most toxic and/or least productive among them.

Deploying National Guard troops in US cities is a show. US government blowing up fishing boats in international waters under the guise of narco-terrorism is very real with about 80 people unalived. -
There is nothing to gain in taking another man's woman. A man's energy is better spent increasing his own wealth. It's best to not get involved with a woman who's not truly on the team. No stress. It is unproductive. People cannot own each other. A man should do whatever it takes to mske himself more attractive. More importantly, he should pursue women who are genuinely interested in him. The question becomes was she ever really his woman and how did he lose her. Men don't have to be jealous or insecure if they are with women who are genuinely attracted to them. Realistic in my environment. Just like men, women cheat for a number of reasons. Depending on where one lives, works and plays, they can be around the same people of the opposite sex for many years without getting physical. There's several reasons culturally that men and women are kept separate. A man should only get involved with women to the extent that his mental can handle it.

https://newrepublic.com/post/201664/vivek-ramaswamy-turning-point-racism-ohio This is the kind of wake-up call that let's non-white folks who believe they have been accepted by white folks realize there is a ceiling. Vivek Ramaswamy is running for governor of Ohio. The people in his own political party have let him know for the 2nd time after his failed POTUS bid that they aren't down with having an Indian in charge of their state or country. Many Indians, Hispanics and Asians believe they are either white or white-adjacent and have been accepted by white folks. If they don't play the game correctly, white folks will let Brown and Yellow folks know they're not really white. Ramaswamy is Harvard educated and rich. Not only does he believe he's been accepted by white folks but also thinks being wealthy makes him elite too. He talks in a condescending manner as if he's the smartest person in the building. Average white folks will let Ramaswamy know he's not above nor is he one of them. Another case of FAFO...f8ck around and find out.

How do you define intelligence? How does one gain wisdom? A whole lot of women are classy. Just a matter of being in the *right* environment. Trailer park mentality would be the white version of it. -
Ownership means content control. We don't have to use it negatively. The face of BET ownership was a black man but the investors behind the scenes were not Black. Once BET was sold to Viacom, content programming went off the rails. They served up a whole bunch of mental junk food. McDonald's for the brain. Look no further than the sh8t owned by Oprah and Tyler Fairy, er, Perry. Straight garbage. White folks aren't in the same predicament. Regardless of which way the political winds blow, white folks are comfortable being [insert class here] because as long as they're white...they believe they're better than non-white folks and therefore can't *lose*. OTOH, Black folks regardless of class can be marginalized or wiped out completely. Other non-white folks are fine with white folks controlling power and money. Those people try to blend in and stay low. Some non-whites consider themselves white or white-adjacent. They are just as anti-Black as white folks too.
