  1. Right. A whole lot of time and money is being wasted on running mates, er, GOP candidates as if there will be an alternative nominee. Former POTUS isn't going to prison under any circumstance. He'll definitely be the GOP nominee. I wouldn't be surprised if gets re-elected. Racist white folks want their country back the way it was In the early 1900s when non-white folks were in their place. The former POTUS is promising those white folks he can make it happen.
  2. Until he went to prison or the cemetery. It would take a lot more than removing a stigma for prostitution to become an honorable profession.
  3. As it relates to AfroAmericans (ADOS/FBA), we should only be concerned with issues that affect us. Otherwise, it is a distraction to keep us from focusing on reparations. Whatever is going on with Chinese women and their wanting to have babies in America has nothing to do with AfroAmericans.
  4. Exactly. No different from children born into the mafia. No reason for those kids to tell anybody what their fathers did for a living. Of course, people *knew* not to mistreat those mafia kids either.
  5. Jack Johnson was born in the South but spent the most prosperous years of his life in the North (New York, Chicago, Philly, Detroit). While Jack Johnson was never in any real danger, his *success* in beating a white man for the heavyweight title did lead to a race riot. Also, Jack Johnson was the most feared Black man in and out the ring during his reign. To this day, some Black men choose to deal with white women. Probably has something to do with forbidden fruit. I guess those dudes believe not only is the white man's ice colder but his fruit must be sweeter too.
  6. Pay disparity will always be an issue especially within a capitalistic framework. Then, there's the racism and gender piece of it too. There are a few elephants in a small room. Most Americans are taught to get an education so that they can get a job working for somebody else. People need to become educated in how to go from 1) trading labor for wages to 2) becoming producers instead of merely consumers. There's a huge difference between working for someone else and working for yourself. It starts with self-investment. Take the two women mentioned above. As A-list actresses, there's nothing to stop them from separately or joining forces to produce and direct their own projects. But, it's easier to let someone else do the heaviest lifting whether it's financing the project or building the business. Then, workers want to demand better pay or fair pay. Their effort is misguided from the beginning. It starts at the negotiating table. Of course, as long as someone else is willing to work for less there's never a labor shortage. Catch 22. Unions and other efforts have been undertaken to resolve everything from pay disparity to working conditions. Even in that regard....follow the money. Nonetheless, I could write a book on the subject of labor and capitalism but I'll stop here for the Q&A.
  7. It's not really frowned upon but most children won't go around bragging about theirr parent(s) being career drug dealers.
  8. Jack Johnson was arrested and jailed and fined but he kept doing it anyway.
  9. The former POTUS doesn't need more ammunition but that doesn't stop him from getting it: https://www.npr.org/2023/12/20/1220725977/a-breakdown-of-the-colorado-supreme-courts-ruling-on-trump In. 4-3 decision, the Colorado Supreme Court has ruled the former POTUS cannot be on the ballot in the state primary race. This is frivolous on a couple levels. If/when this issue goes to the US Supreme Court, may be the one-time they vote 9-0 to strike it down. US politics is becoming a bigger circus with each passing day. It's going to a miracle rounding up these clowns in both sides.
  10. Yeah, it would be kinda weird filling out forms for a school-aged child and under mother's occupation....prostitute. Even worse, when that mother shows up for a PTA meeting and fathers and teachers and the janitor give her the side-eye or a wink and a nod. I don't believe anybody wants either one of their parents to be a prostitute or drug dealer or a bank robber as an occupation.
  11. There is an inconsistency in how white men are treated for worse offenses against women. Read about UFC President Dana White as I mentioned above. I don't believe the NY DA nor the judge were trying to protect Black women especially when this victim appears to be white. Jonathan Majors' crime was 1) being a black man and 2) rich and 3) dating white women. White folks have had a sour pickle in their mouths when it comes to Black men dating white women ever since heavyweight champion boxer Jack Johnson showed off in the early 1900s.
  12. Understood. I get where you're going with it.
  13. Considering the size of a slice, it's either fold and eat or cut in half. Otherwise, you're left to nibble at a big azz floppy triangle.
  14. Sure. I've heard of Vernon Jordan. He was an advisor to the Clinton administration. Believe he passed away a couple years ago.
  15. A wannabe deputy trying to make a citizen's arrest, 25-year old white female, has been convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment: https://www.foxnews.com/us/georgia-woman-fights-murder-case-killing-stranger-citizens-arrest Just like George Zimmerman, this woman thought she was law enforcement. Despite being told not to pursue by a 911 operator, she chased down and shot and killed a Black man after a minor traffic accident. Now, she will spend at least 43 years in prison before she's eligible for parole at 68 years old. Of course, white racists are proud of her actions. She will be a celebrity in the state correctional facility. To date, AfroAmericans still do not have a defense system in place to keep white folks from being confident in their ability to murder us and get away with it. Despite incarceration, this woman didn't pay the ultimate price. Just like the other murderers, she will be protected behind the wall.
  16. I don't really know what his parents wanted for him because I don't any of them. Medgar Evers is remembered for being a catalyst in the Civil Rights movement. AfroAmericans are still suffering under the system of racism white supremacy. My point is that I've heard of Medgar Evers. I've never heard of his friend in NYC. I didn't realize there was a point to be missed. My statement was based on a hypothetical. Sure. AfroAmericans caught h8ll wherever they chose to live but we're still here. I use emoticons in my writing for 1) humor and 2) figuratively. Try not to read into everything I write.
  17. I keep up with the conversations. Some I just sit back and watch like a tennis match. Especially when it involves references to religion.
  18. Sure. Most parents want a better life for their offspring. Most do not set out to raise a monster or a martyr. Medgar Evers is a permanent figure in AfroAmerican history. His name is on buildings, street signs schools, parks, etc. Evers' colleague who fled, er, moved to NYC is only somebody to his own family and friends. He has the honor of being able to say he was friends with a historical figure.
  19. Well, Alvin Bragg is the Manhattan District Attorney. Ultimately, it was his office that brought charges against Majors. DA Bragg said the verdict showed that Majors has a " pattern of abuse and coercion". The Black man who could have helped Majors threw him under the bus instead. AfroAmerican problems within the prison of racism white supremacy run deep. They've turned some Black folks against themselves.
  20. NYC is a melting pot of different cultures. Seems immigrants would easily be able to find their tribe there. The real *problem* is that many Black immigrants and their descendants have been brainwashed by racism white supremacy into an anti-AfroAmerican (DOS/FBA) sentiment. AfroAmericans (DOS/FBA) have to navigate the hurdles of racism white supremacy and shade from other black folks. All skin folk ain't kinfolk. As soon as I encounter an inkling of that sh8t coming from non-DOS/FBA Black folks in the form of false narratives and beliefs, I call it out. Just rip it off like a band-aid.
  21. Actor Jonathan Majors was found guilty of a misdemeanor and a violation that could result in up to one year prison sentence: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/jonathan-majors-trial-verdict-1235759607/ Majors will lose more in job opportunities as a result of this situation. He's already been dropped by his management company. Marvel comics is removing him from their movies. A Black man should know there is a huge target on his back. Any form of success increases the bullseye range. For a Black man, any and every transgression of law especially of a violent nature will be prosecuted to the fullest extent. in Jonathan Majors situation, the victim didn't press charges. The state of NY did it. The guilty verdict won't cost Jonathan Majors a significant amount of his freedom. But, among the dominant society, he will lose far more in the court of public opinion and income. Another Black man who was a rising star brought back down to Earth. White folks totally enjoy the take down. Majors isn't the first and won't be the last the Black man to bring this on himself. President of Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White was caught on video slapping his wife around. Nothing happened to him. The Black man cannot get away with high crimes or misdemeanors in the same manner as white men. The question is when will he ever learn.
  22. Surely, I've mentioned parents in one of my diatribes. Whoever raised that fella in the video clearly wanted him to have a different life. It would have been interesting to see if his mind changed after spending a few hours in a sundown town.
  23. That video is from 1957. Whether he's still alive or not, I hope that he did not spend his lifetime being lost. Yet, 67 years later, there are Black folks who are just as lost or in a state of denial or simping for inclusion within the dominant society. Through colonization and imperialism, white folks have been infiltrating non-white folks for a couple hundred years now. That African dude speaking perfect English and dressed in westernized attire in 1957 is a a telltale sign of how deeply Black folks have been programmed for a long time.
  24. D8mn near impossible. The programming runs deep. Right. We've got no dog in that fight. Let them straighten out. Another tall order. Democrats got most Black voters on lock. We need an agenda before we can push a candidate.
  25. Facts. Black folks need to do a better job of using our voices to call out the hypocrisy and double-standards at every turn. It doesn't help that Black shills and bootlicks nod their empty heads in approval as the white folks throw shade on us and/or do that what about-ism sh8t. We really need that drop squad on several fronts. White folks want Black folks to speak up on that Israel dust-up. Yeah right. I'm so glad we're on code in that regard. The late Dick Gregory would probably be proud of us.
