  1. @Pioneer1, Chris Rock played the long game. If Chris Rock would have fought Will Smith on TV, it would have been a bigger embarrassment to AfroAmerican men. Fair or unfair....that's just the way it is for us. Chris even admitted that his mom told him it was not a good look for Black men to be fighting in front of white people. IMO, Will Smith was not defending his wife's honor when he walked up slapped Chris Rock. Will was frustrated because of some other sh8t that was going on in his household. He just decided to take it out on Chris at the worst time in the wrong setting.
  2. @Pioneer1, the question then becomes what is the difference between a highly intelligent individual who does little or nothing with their great brain and a natural fool who still manages to take of self. Drive through any neighborhood and the highly intelligent and clown might be neighbors. H8ll, we just had a natural fool aka clown running the country for 4 years.
  3. Being to produce and/or seize opportunities isn't luck. Only requires action which is having the will and desire to do something and make it happen. There's a lot people can do without needing permission or help from others. In that case, being prepared and taking the step(s) is the only obstacle to getting to done. No luck required.
  4. Yessir. Purely coincidence. However, there's something to being prepared to take advantage of opportunities too. Unlucky folks for one reason or another weren't prepared when a chance occurrence happened. "Man, I had all of the right lottery numbers written down but didn't play because I was broke or didn't get my lazy azz to the store."
  5. Yep. They've already put the cosmetic surgery out there. Thankfully, they weren't down there to do anything illegal. End of story. As it relates to butts, most Black women are still well endowed. However, there's always been no shortage of BMWs (Body Made Wrong) running around out in these streetz too. There are plenty Black women who are shaped like pears and have butts with more dents in it than an overcooked hard-boiled egg. Then, there's the flat azz on a fat back. Jeezus take the wheel. From a business perspective, I understand why a woman might want a BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) or whatever. But, if doesn't make dollars, it doesn't make sense. Every now and then, a white woman will get a round, fatty but it's still as rare as hen's teeth. Funny thing is, white men don't care too much for big butts. They only see fat and overweight. Man, in my part of the world, I see real and fake a$$es regularly that border on ridiculous. It's hilarious from a comedic perspective.
  6. Throughout our history, there's been countless AfroAmerican men and women who were able to do extraordinary things despite their circumstances. Much of our history has been ignored, lost or hidden for obvious reasons. You would think the goal of Black folks majoring in history would have been to dig up and document our stories. Knowledge is power.
  7. Luck is having good fortune with little or no real effort on the part of the recipient. Winning the lottery is luck. Somebody shuffles to a gas station or convenience store and spends a dollar on a lottery ticket. Scratch off or plop down on the couch and wait for the balls to drop and winning numbers. Luck.
  8. I believe our sista was going down to Mexico to get some butt work done. It's a cheaper surgery down there. I'm wondering what kind of work the sista does that requires having a different azz tho. I'm thinking it would have been even cheaper for her to spend time in gym to tone and tighten up. Unless her job is to make that azz clap at the Snooty Fox lounge. She looks a bit too old for that line of work.
  9. Chris Rock is a business-man. I knew he was going to monetize that slap seen around the world. $40 million is not a bad pay day for him. I can only imagine how much Netflix will make for giving him the platform.
  10. Fruitvale Station was a movie worth making because the same sh8t is still happening to our brothas and sistas to this day. In that regard, there's no need to watch the movie since something similar happens to Black folks once or twice a year and it's all over the news.
  11. I truly belive that unfortunate situation was a case of mistaken identity; wrong place, wrong time. The cartel dudes shot up the wrong minivan. When the time is right, I'd like to discuss why she was going to get cosmetic surgery in the 1st place.
  12. Ultimately, looks come down to personal preference. Thankfully, the universe produces a great variety of human beings in all shapes, sizes, colors and flavors.
  13. IMO, Fruitvale Station was Michael B. Jordan's breakout movie. He did a great job portraying Oscar Grant who was killed by a transit race soldier.
  14. Flavor Flav is the exception. I don't think he's waving a bag of money around either. But, women seem to love that dude.
  15. Herein lies the problem with your writing. Firstly, you want to dictate what others write. I've mentioned several times that's not gonna happen. Second, when an opinion or view doesn't line up with whatever you think or believe, you reject it or attack it as inaccurate or lies. Non-constructive. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and interpretation of historical information. We do not have to agree on anything. In other words, it does not matter whether or not you agree or disagree with my opinion or position. I have a guaranteed qualification to write and say whatever I think. A discussion is like a tennis match. Serve and volley. The difference is we're not keeping score. There are no winners and losers. It's a zero sum game. Haiti won the battle in defeating the French. Native Americans won the battle against American colonizers. They both lost the war. If Haiti had been allowed to control its sugar cane crop without having to pay France into perpetuity, the country would be in a better position on several fronts. As an example, look no further than the Middle East and its black gold export. While our sand brothas have their own issues in dealing with white folks, they aren't being raped of their natural resource and/or paying a heavy tax to any former oppressors. Black countries have the same problem all over the planet. That is a failure to unify among themselves in order to keep white folks from dominating them. A combination of diplomacy and only when absolutely necessary is violence required in order to protect ourselves individually and collectively. That applies to countries too.
  16. It's been that way for a very long time. While beauty is supposed to be in the eye of the beholder, the reality is that social conditioning has done a number on many people; past, present and future.
  17. No. Movie theaters are not a required. But, Black folks need some type of platform for movies in which they control content and profit. As I mentioned in a thread about Haiti, while they did fight for their freedom, the reward has been perpetual poverty for those Haitians who aren't a part of the ruling class and their family, friends and cronies. Replacing one oppressor with another isn't a sign of progress. There has to be balance. It's not that you're a bad writer. We hsve different ideologies. That's healthy for constructive discussion.
  18. If Black folks took a portion of the money we spend on gross consumerism....lottery tickets, alcohol, drugs, clothes, shoes, vacations, hair, vehicles, etc., we could buy a movie theater chain. Constructively pooling Black wealth toward goals doesn't require violence. Just a plan and discipline. There's a time and place for violence. Black folks can build wealth without detonating that nuclear option.
  19. Facts. We cannot expect Hollywood to write, direct and finance our stories without putting their own spin on it. They are slick enough to use our own people to do their bidding. At some point, we need to take ownership and do for ourselves. That's the only way we can have any control over our images and how we are portrayed.
  20. The questions to ask are 1) why do people get high and 2) why is it illegal/criminal to do so. As I mentioned above, the main reason people do drugs and/or drink alcohol is to temporarily escape their reality and/or to artificially increase their happiness. The reason prohibition ended and drugs are illegal and criminalized is because the economy is fueled by both on many levels.
  21. @Pioneer1, through a private contractor, the Russians are using prisoners to augment their military in the war against Ukraine.
  22. The movie has broken a box office record for a sports film with a weekend opening gross of over $100 million worldwide: ciehttps://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/creed-iii-box-office-opening-1235340591/ Since I think Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors are both talented actors, I'll definitely check the movie out the within the next few days. Don't bother to tell me who won the fight.
  23. That would make sense if polygamy was legal and if older men were taking care of more wives and concubines.
  24. I don't think Ben Crump will jump into politics. His law practice has been very lucrative.
  25. That's been going on forever. Same dynamic. Most men are visual and remain that way as they age. Younger women have a physical profile that works like natural viagra for older men. Older men usually have better financial security and/or more disposable income than younger dudes. Younger women will date an older man for money and security. They also know he can't beat it up too bad and he'll be asleep before midnight. When that older man gets tired and sleepy, a younger woman can hit the streets (bars, clubs and parties) and hang out with the younger dudes she'd prefer if they weren't broke.
